Carmen Maria Montiel (center) is not getting treated fairly by the local media. However, what most of "THE MEDIA TALKING HEADS" don't realize is that Carmen Maria Montiel only raised $126,358.00, and received 40,941 votes when she ran against Sheila Jackson Lee on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Comparatively speaking, former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards raised an astonishing $1,682,415.31 when she ran against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and received only 14,668 votes out of 417,430 registered voters living within the boundaries of the 18th Congressional District of Texas. IN OTHER NEWS... Greg Groogan, the host of "WHAT'S YOUR POINT," on FOX 26, claimed that George Foreman IV is running for the 18th Congressional District of Texas as what Groogan labelled on his show as "THE CONSERVATIVE OPTION." However, George Foreman IV still hasn't filed out his "STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY" with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to make the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas aware of his political party affiliation.

"EDITOR'S NOTE."
While the mainstream media's "TALKING HEADS" are throwing shade at State Rep. Jolanda Jones, and bringing up how her entire staff resigned, and labeled the Honorable State Rep. Jolanda Jones (HD-147), as having created an "abusive and hostile" work environment, it's going to be interesting to see if they talk about the fact that Harris County Attorney Chistian Menefee is alleged to be a fraud. According to Elizabeth Thomas, a victim of fraud, along with over 500 other victims of fraud, pleaded their case to Harris County Christian Menefee. Still, they were attacked by Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, rather than being helped.

Greg Groogan, the host of "WHAT'S YOUR POINT," which airs on FOX 26 on Sunday Mornings, had a lot to say about State Rep. Jolanda Jones on Sunday, June 8, 2025. He appeared to throw a little shade at Jolanda, as several of his guests did the same. Several people on the "WHAT'S YOUR POINT" panel believe that if State Rep. Jolanda Jones makes the runoff, she will lose to someone like Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee or former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards. (CLICK HERE) to see what they had to say about State Rep. Jolanda Jones and George Foreman IV, who entered ther race for the 18th Congressional District of Texas a few days before Jolanda.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - Investigative Reporter Aubrey R. Taylor received a call from Elizabeth Thomas, who claims that there's a pending "CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT" about to take Harris County by storm. According to Elizabeth Thomas, she and over 500 other victims are having their homes stolen away from them in the Miramar Subdivision. "When we went to Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee for help, he attacked us," says the New York native.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - Elizabeth Thomas states that Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee has considerable power. And she claims that in Texas, it is not about what you know, but who you know. She states that a lawsuit filed in Harris County Court was stayed and reinstated last week. According to Elizabeth Thomas, things were being done inside local Harris County Courtrooms to prevent their case from being heard. She says that when she went to Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, instead of helping the group of more than 500 victims of fraud, Christian Menefee allegedly further victimized the homeowners by attacking them.

Carmen Maria Montiel, a MAGA "Make America Great Again" conservative, is the only candidate in the upcoming race for the 18th Congressional District who has proven that she can garner more than 40,000 votes, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Carmen's 2022 performance against Congresswoman Lee was actually statistically better than Amanda Edwards' 2024 performance against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, which makes her a formidable opponent in a race that could inevitably include more than twenty (20) African Americans. She is pictured above with Peter Filler (Democrat), in the first photo. Carmen is pictured with Dr. James Joseph (Democrat) in the second photo. Carmen Maria Montiel is pictured with George Foreman IV, showcasing her boxing skills. George Foreman IV has not filed his "STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY" to officially announce which political party he will be representing on the upcoming Tuesday, November 4, 2025, ballot.

Fraud Victim Claims County Attorney Christian Menefee is a Fraud; Carmen Maria Montiel Says Houston Has a Problem
AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©
What none of the media talking heads are explaining to the general public is that Carmen Maria Montiel, the MAGA “Make America Great Again” conservative, outperformed former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards in her head-to-head showdown against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee by a wide margin.
For the record, former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards raised $1,682,415.31 and spent over $1.6 million but only received 14,668 votes against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee in a head-to-head showdown within the 18th Congressional District of Texas, which had 417,430 registered voters in the on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, when the Amanda lost to Sheila.
Did you hear me? Amanda only received 14,668 votes out of a possible 417,430 registered voters in the 18th Congressional District of Texas after raising $1,682,415.31 and spending over $1.6 million of the money she raised in a two-person race after Robert Slater pulled out of the race and endorsed Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee over Amanda.
By comparison, when Carmen Maria Montiel, the MAGA “Make America Great Again” conservative, ran for the 18th Congressional District of Texas on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Carmen Maria Montiel only raised $126,358.50 and received 40,941 votes.
Listen. Amanda raised $1,682,415.31 and spent nearly all of it, and only received 14,668 votes, and Carmen only raised $126,358 and received 40,941 votes, but the “MEDIA TALKING HEADS” aren’t even mentioning Carmen Maria Montiel – what’s up with that?

“GETTING HEATED UP.”
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Greg Groogan and his panel discussed the entry of State Rep. Jolanda Jones and George Foreman IV into the race for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas.
Greg Groogan, the host of “WHAT’S YOUR POINT,” mentioned that George Foreman IV mentioned he was running what he labeled “THE CONSERVATIVE OPTION.” Still, he failed to disclose that he knew that “BIG WHEEL,” as George Foreman IV is affectionately known to his family and friends, was running as a Republican.
Where do you think the FOX 26 NEWS reporter (Greg Groogan) obtained the information that George Foreman IV was planning to run for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat as a Republican when George Foreman IV hasn’t even filed his “STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY,” with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), as of this morning?
Remember, George Foreman IV announced his candidacy for the 18th Congressional District of Texas a few days before he was a guest on The Michael Berry Show on 740KTRH on Monday, June 2, 2025, at approximately 9:15 a.m., to much fanfare.
While on Michael Berry’s show, George Foreman IV never got asked the critical question related to his party affiliation. While appearing on the show, George Foreman IV made a plea for donations and support. Still, he didn’t reveal to the conservative audience whether he was running for the 18th Congressional District of Texas as a Democrat, Republican, or Independent candidate, which was disingenuous.
Is George Foreman IV hiding something? And why hasn’t he filed out his “STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY” with the FEC, but State Rep. Jolanda Jones announced her candidacy three days after George Foreman IV and has already filed her “STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY” with the Federal Election Commission – what’s up with that?

“CONCERNING COVERAGE.”
Why is the local media doing the bidding of County Attorney Christian Menefee? Why are negative things already being published about people like State Rep. Jolanda Jones, but are being ignored when it comes to Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, whom Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis endorses?
State Rep. Jolanda Jones hasn’t even been in the race for the 18th Congressional District of Texas seat for a week, and reporters are already talking about how she could make the December runoff but then lose the runoff to someone like former City Councilwoman Amanda Edwards, or Harris County Christian Menefee – which is a lie.
The Houston Chronicle reported, “In 2023, as a freshman, Jones made headlines after her entire House staff resigned, alleging she created an 'abusive and hostile' work environment.”
But wait a minute, why is the Houston Chronicle already throwing shade on State Rep. Jolanda Jones’ campaign? Why?
“They claimed in a leaked resignation that Jones hid an inappropriate relationship between her son and an intern and allowed him outsized say in state business,” the Houston Chronicle article about State Rep. Jolanda Jones continued.
Now, ask yourself, why would the Houston Chronicle be “THROWING SHADE” on State Rep. Jolanda’s campaign but not discussing the mounting complaints regarding Harris County Christian Menefee’s administration?

“MEET ELIZABETH THOMAS.”
To the naked eye, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee appears to be a young, promising African American male with a bright future. However, some local attorneys and at least 500 victims of fraud in the Miramar Subdivision may disagree.
A woman from New York has boldly come forward to expose County Attorney Christian Menefee, claiming that the people of the 18th Congressional District need to know that Christian Menefee is a fraud who needs to be exposed.
Elizabeth Thomas, a victim of fraud, contacted Aubrey R. Taylor Communications, the publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper, to share her experience. She and other victims had sought help from Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, but ultimately found themselves being attacked by Menefee and double-crossed.
Why is Elizabeth Thomas’ harrowing tale of being victimized and then attacked by Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee rather than helped relevant? Well, according to Elizabeth Thomas, the Harris County Attorney (Christian Menefee) is aware that she and over 500 residents from the Miramar Subdivision got victimized. Their properties are allegedly being stolen from them, and Elizabeth Thomas claims that she and her fellow victims are going to prove it in their “CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT,” which named County Christian Menefee before his shenanigans started.

“VICTIMS OF FRAUD.”
Listen to the “SEVEN SEGMENTS” of approved audio that was recorded with Elizabeth Thomas’ permission. You will hear the pain in her voice as talked about being betrayed by the public servants who claim to be for the people – but instead, appears to be evil, self-serving, and little more than an “UNCLE TOM NEGRO,” who only cares about doing the bidding of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, and other members of his “CULT-LIKE” political regime.
As you listen to the “SEVEN SEGMENTS” of this approved audio recording, please keep in mind that County Attorney Christian Menefee is the person that Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his media allies want you to believe is the best person to represent the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas, when in fact, Christian Menefee is, in reality, the worst.
It is clear that Commissioner Rodney Ellis, “THE PUPPET MASTER,” believes that he’s more powerful than he is in reality. But Commissioner Ellis and “HIS PUPPET” Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee are about to get exposed for both being frauds who don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves and attaining more power.
Since 2016, when Commissioner Rodney Ellis took office, “ELECTION FRAUD” has risen to never-seen-before levels in Harris County, Texas. However, after recruiting Christian Menefee to unseat his fellow Democrat, Vince Ryan, in 2020, Ellis and his cohorts have been able to insulate themselves.
What media talking heads are not telling the general public is that Commissioner Rodney Ellis is the person who spearheaded the targeting of White men in Harris County, Texas, with his “DIABOLICAL SCHEME” to take over Harris County with ethnic minority members of his regime, who would submit to his political agenda.
One of Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s first orders of business was to gain the unwavering support of the Texas Organizing Project by allocating over $250,000.00 to run field operations and facilitate his ground game, as well as canvassing efforts.
Commissioner Ellis’s next order of business was to gain control of the Harris County Attorney’s Office by recruiting Christian Menefee, a “BETA MALE,” who would bend to his demands and serve as a submissive County Attorney, to unseat his fellow Democrat Vince Ryan, who was an “ALPHA MALE,” who would not submit to Ellis’s political agenda.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Christian Menefee (Democrat) received 125,971 votes for 50.4% of the vote, Vince Ryan received 62,630 votes for 25.1%, and Ben Rose received 61,103 votes for 24.5%, in a three-way race for Harris County Attorney in the Democratic Party Primary.
After another White male, named Judge William Bill McLeod (Democrat), had just won election to the County Civil Court at Law No. 3 position, he made a “TECHNICAL BLUNDER” by announcing his intention to run for the Texas Supreme Court.
Commissioner Rodney Ellis seized upon Judge William Bill McLeod’s “TECHNICAL BLUNDER”. He drove Judge McLeod from his County Civil Court at Law No.3 bench, replacing Judge McLeod with Lesley Briones, as Judge McLeod pleaded for leniency, forgiveness, and compassion, to no avail.
After gaining control of the Commissioner’s Court, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis used his power and influence over County Judge Lina Hidalgo, County Commissioner Adrian Garcia (Precinct 2) to redraw the Precinct 3 boundaries to favor Lesley Briones and force a White male named Commissioner R. Jack Cagle, better known as “CACTUS JACK,” from his Precinct 3 bench during the 2022 Midterm Election.

“DEEP DARK SECRETS.”
Over the years, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and former Mayor of the City of Houston Sylvester Turner, who also served as a Congressman for the 18th Congressional District of Texas, became well acquainted while serving together in the Texas Legislature.
Commissioner Rodney Ellis selected Sylvester Turner to replace Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee after her death on July 19, 2024, because he knew “SLY” was compromised and had “DEEP DARK SECRETS,” which could be held over his head, to keep him in line.
In effect, what Commissioner Rodney Ellis has done is insulate himself with “BETA MALES,” who would fear and submit to his demands because of the subservient mindsets.
For instance, the “SWORN AFFIDAVIT,” signed off on by Sylvester Turner’s wife, Cheryl Gillum Turner, on November 13, 1991, talked about how his wife, who was an assistant district attorney with Harris County at the time, believed her husband was recruiting men like Don Aaron, Darryl Carter, Dwight Thomas, Michael Harris, and others, to participate in sexual orgies.
It was this “DEEP DARK SECRET” that compromised Sylvester Turner and made him the perfect patsy for Commissioner Rodney Ellis and other men in powerful positions.
Sylvester Turner’s wife made it clear in her “SWORN AFFIDAVIT” that drug abuse, and maybe even “BLACKMAIL,” was occurring amongst the ranks of Sylvester Turner’s “DIABOLICAL GROUP,” of sex-crazed, orgie-partners.
“Carter informed me that he has the receipt from Jones’ drug rehabilitation program, and he has a copy of the police investigation into Jones transporting drugs,” stated Turner’s wife.
According to Turner’s wife, there was more, “I also have heard that Don Aaron has made statements pertaining to having “the goods” on Sylvester.”
The alleged “GOODS” Turner’s wife was referring to were unbecoming photographs of Sylvester Turner that he did not want ever to become available to the public.
Sylvester Turner’s drive to keep his “DEEP DARK SECRETS” in the closet and away from the general public forced him to live out most of his adult life in fear of getting exposed.

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”
It is clear that County Commissioner Rodney Ellis still has a measure of control over certain members of the local media. However, the local mainstream media won’t be able to hide and shield County Attorney Christian Menefee once the public gets made aware of the fact that County Attorney Christian Menefee doesn’t give a damn about the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas.

"EDITOR'S NOTE."
To date, Jolanda has saved five lives. One: a gunshot victim. Two: an SUV rollover victim who was ejected on the freeway. Three: a hit-and-run victim. Four: A victim passed out on a busy street. And her fifth and most notable save, for which she won a HERO Award, was that of a teenager whose car fell approximately 100 feet off of a freeway interchange, caught fire, and exploded seconds after Jolanda and her son extricated her. Jolanda ran to safety 50 meters with the teenager in her arms.
If someone is in danger and Jolanda is near, she will be the person who rushes in to save whoever needs saving. Jolanda feels compelled to save people due to the many times she was a victim of circumstance and in need of help, combined with her mother’s teachings that she must have the courage to do what is right when it’s easier to do wrong and that she must help people who, but for her help, would be helpless.

Ray “RC” Charles Jones respected and admired Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. R.C. has dedicated nearly half a century of his life to the Harris County Democratic Party, serving as a committeeman and precinct chair. This “DEMOCRATIC PARTY VETERAN” currently serves as the North Side Political Action Group president and a political advisor to Investigative Reporter Aubrey R. Taylor, the publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper.
From the Desk of Ray/RC Jones
President, Northside Political Action Group
We do not need another Sheila Jackson Lee-style representative for the 18th Congressional District. What we need is a bold and authentic leader, someone like Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Dallas, Texas. She speaks with confidence, courage, and clarity. She does not appear to have a political handler whispering in her ear, and that is what sets her apart.
This is precisely what I have been telling our young people: You must have your own identity and speak with power. If you want to be heard, speak with purpose and conviction.
One person I can genuinely commend today is State Representative Ron Reynolds. He has demonstrated wisdom by surrounding himself with experienced and knowledgeable leaders. During his rise, he was consistently seen in the company of State Representative Senfronia Thompson, a woman who has been a political force since I first got involved.
I have personally served for 48 years as a Precinct Judge and 8 years on the SDEC (State Democratic Executive Committee). So, whether you like me or not, you should learn how the political game is truly played in Houston and Harris County.
This message is particularly directed to Houston’s Black American Democratic organization. Most of the organization’s leadership consists of Black women. However, I am also concerned that some newly elected officials are treating public office as a stepping stone. When a new seat opens, too many rush to abandon the one they were just entrusted with. That shows a lack of commitment to their constituents.
When you are chosen, serve your full term. Earn trust through action, not by constantly chasing the next opportunity.
Let us revisit the example of Representative Senfronia Thompson. She has faithfully served her district for decades. Whenever a need or question arises, she addresses it. Not only has she held her seat with dignity, but she has also mentored countless others who are serious about public service. She puts in the work that every official should aim to do.
Now, back to the 18th Congressional District.
Frankly, half the candidates competing for that seat do not understand the redistricting changes or the historical impact of prior efforts to combine the 18th and 9th districts. Although the districts were not merged, the redrawn lines have significantly altered the makeup of the districts. Many are unaware that these shifts have already happened, and yet, too many are eager to fill that seat for the wrong reasons.
From personal experience, some of them are not qualified.
Yes, we need new energy. Yes, we need young leaders. But we need leaders who want to serve, not just climb to a higher position. If your motivation is to build a resume or chase a paycheck, this is not the place for you.
Wake up. The Republicans are not playing. This seat could easily be flipped.
As I mentioned earlier, whether you like me or Aubrey Taylor, I invite you to tune in to KCOH’s Ralph Cooper Talk Show on June 19th. Listen on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. Take notes. You might begin to understand where I am coming from.
More to come on June 26, 2025.
I will personally name every candidate in the race and tell you who needs to drop out.
Stay tuned.

State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27), could have easily used his powerful "NAME-ID" as the Chair of the Texas HBCU Legislative Caucus, Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, and holds the titles of Chair Emeritus of both the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and the Texas Legislative Progress Caucus, to mount a strong campaign for CD-18. However, State Rep. Reynolds has once again demonstrated his unwavering support and commitment to the Democratic Party by electing not to run for the highly coveted 18th Congressional seat, potentially hurting the chances of his fellow Democrats.

On Monday, June 2, 2025, after George Foreman IV appeared on KTRH740AM, on the Michael Berry Show, at 9:15AM, Investigative Reporter Aubrey R. Taylor provided "POLITICAL COMMENTARY" and analysis to (www.1230kcoh.com), on "THE RALPH COOPER SHOW," to help the Black Community get a better understanding of what's unfolding in the race for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat. George Foreman IV spent about 15 minutes on KTRH740AM, and KCOH1230AM provided Investigative Reporter Aubrey R. Taylor with about 35 minutes of airtime to analyze and break down the George Foreman IV interview with Hall of Fame Broadcaster Ralph Cooper.

"THE TOP TIER."
State Rep. Jolanda Jones (Democrat) is unquestionably the legitimate torch bearer for Democrats, and George Foreman IV, by all intents and purposes, appears to be running for CD-18 as a torchbearer for "THE GOP," are two transitional candidates. The entry of these two formidable contenders into the race for CD-18 caused the entire CD-18 race to pivot on Monday, June 2, 2025, and again on Thursday, June 5, 2025. That said, it is unclear what role George Foreman IV's brother-in-law (Eric Carr) played in helping State Rep. Ron Reynolds arrive at the decision to step aside on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Still, it has become clear that Jolanda "Jo" Jones, George "BIG WHEEL," Foreman IV, and Eric Carr are all preparing to go "ALL-IN" on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Remember, the deadline to enter the race for CD-18 isn't until Wednesday, September 3, 2025, so more candidates could enter. But why? At this point, with George Foreman IV and State Rep. Jolanda "Jo" Jones preparing to do battle against one another, what else do we need?

State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right) and his longtime colleague and close friend, State Rep. Jolanda Jones, have supported one another and stood together on the front lines in many battles. State Rep. Ron Reynolds proved himself to be "A TRUE LEADER," by stepping aside and not running for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. It is unclear at this time if State Rep. Reynolds will make an endorsement before the December runoff.
George Foreman IV, the son of the late two-time Heavyweight Champion of the World "BIG GEORGE" Foreman, appears to be on a track to secure a majority of the Republican vote, in a field of candidates that is entirely too deep with Democratic candidates. While his appearance on the Michael Berry Show was little more than a "SOFTBALL INTERVIEW," it is unclear if the man called "BIG WHEEL" by his family and friends has the guts to face down someone like State Rep. Jolanda Jones in a debate on (www.1230kcoh.com) so that the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas can get a better understanding of who he is, what he stands for, and how he plans to represent them in the United States Congress if he pulls of a victory in the CD-18 race.

Former prizefighter Eric Carr (right) learned a great deal about the inner workings of the United States Congress from his dear friend, the late Honorable Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, who took him under her wing. As Eric Carr's business has expanded into other states, so has his influence in the Bayou City and other major metropolitan areas throughout America. Eric Carr has announced that he is supporting State Rep. Jolanda "Jo" Jones over his former brother-in-law, George Foreman IV, in the upcoming Tuesday, November 4, 2025, "SPECIAL ELECTION," for the 18th Congressional District.

The newly-drawn 18th Congressional District of Texas is now 43.4% Hispanic, 32.2% Black, 16.7% White, 4.9% Asian, 2.2% Two or more races, and 0.7% Other, according to the (CPVI) Cook Partisan Voting Index. Can the 18th Congressional District of Texas get flipped from "BLUE" to "RED" on Tuesday, November 4, 2025? The answer is YES. However, it will take the correct type of candidates who can draw support from the right and the left side of the political aisle.

The entry of the late 2-time Heavyweight champion George Foreman's son into the race for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat has turned the race on its head. County Attorney Christian Menefee's campaign has failed to gain any traction. The campaign strategy used by former Houston City Councilwoman Amanda Edwards has been unable to take hold, just as it did when she raised and spent over $1.6 million during the Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Democratic Party Primary. Remember, most people are beginning to view Amanda Edwards as a perennial runner for public office.

The 2026 Midterm Election provides the people of Fort Bend County and Harris County with a unique opportunity to pluck out the "BAD APPLES" and replace them with "GOOD APPLES" in judicial races up and down the ballot.

State Rep. Jolanda Jones (center) serves as the State Representative for House District 147. When Judge Erica Hughes (left) was called an animal by a local lawyer during the 2024 Democratic Party Primary, State Rep. Jolanda Jones stepped forward to defend Erica Hughes, who was running against Judge Mike Engelhart, a "GREAT DEMOCRATIC JUDGE" for his 151st Civil District Court bench. With the support she received from State Rep. Jolanda Jones and others, Erica Hughes unseated Judge Engelhart by garnering 93,468 votes, for 60.9% of the vote. Comparatively speaking, Judge Mike Engelhart, who was hugely popular, and well respected, only received 59,964 votes, for 39.1%, which shows that any judge running for re-election in next year's Tuesday, March 3, 2025, Democratic Party Primary can lose their bench, including the twenty-six (26) African American incumbent judges who are up for re-election in the 2026 Midterm Election. Readers of Houston Business Connections Newspaper© are strongly encouraged to vote for Lieutenant Colonel Judge DaSean Jones on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in the race for the 180th Criminal District Court in the Democratic Party Primary.

Former United States Attorney General Merrick Garland chose Judge Erica Hughes to serve as an Immigration Judge, where she presided over cases. Judge Erica Hughes has been an esteemed member of the U.S. Army National Guard of Texas in Austin since 2016, serving as a Judge Advocate. On January 1, 2025, Judge Erica Hughes, after being called an animal by an "LGBTQ ATTORNEY," named Ben L. Aderholt and unqualified by fellow judges from within the Harris County Democratic Party, during the 2024 Democratic Party Primary season she overcame the odds and defeated a very popular Democratic Party Judge named Mike Engelhart, one of our favorite judges in the race for the 151st Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas.
