I’ve just discovered some questionable transfers that are taking place with the money campaign money that local judges are donating to the Harris County Democratic Party. So, why is the Harris County Democratic Party FED PAC being given money that should be going to help these local Democratic Judges win their reelection bids?
Everyone pretty much agrees that African Americans are the backbone of the Democratic Party. So, you would think that the local Harris County Democratic Party would be doing everything in its power to make sure that every sitting incumbent judge is armed and able to fight their battle to win reelection on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 – right? Wrong!!!
So, with “ELECTION DAY” just a few months away, I decided to take a look at the most recent campaign finance reports that were filed by the Harris County Democratic Party on July 15, 2022, and the Harris County Republican Party on July 10, 2022, with the Texas Secretary of State.
WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON?
Right now, Democrats control every countywide judicial bench in Harris County, Texas. That being said, it’s hard to understand why we don’t see these judges campaigning right already.
I’m struggling in my attempt to understand why Odus Evbagharu who serves as the Chairman and Treasurer for the Harris County Democratic Party would be transferring thousands and thousands of dollars from the main account to another account for the Harris County Democratic Party FED PAC between 2/20/2022, and 6/30/2022. And to make matters worse, nothing appears to be getting spent on voter outreach for the “JUDICIAL CANDIDATES” who donated their hard-earned campaign contributions to the local party.
On 6/21/2022 – Odus Evbagharu transferred $25,000.00 dollars from the Harris County Democratic Party (CEC) to the Harris County, Democratic Party FED PAC for some reason.
On 5/23/2022 – Odus Evbagharu transferred $25,000.00 dollars from the Harris County Democratic Party (CEC) to the Harris County, Democratic Party FED PAC for some reason.
On 5/09/2022 – Odus Evbagharu transferred $6,000.00 dollars from the Harris County Democratic Party (CEC) to the Harris County, Democratic Party FED PAC for some reason.
On 4/21/2022 – Odus Evbagharu transferred $30,000.00 dollars from the Harris County Democratic Party (CEC) to the Harris County, Democratic Party FED PAC for some reason.
On 3/30/2022 – Odus Evbagharu transferred $25,000.00 dollars from the Harris County Democratic Party (CEC) to the Harris County, Democratic Party FED PAC for some reason.
On 3/01/2022 – Odus Evbagharu transferred $36,084.34 dollars from the Harris County Democratic Party (CEC) to the Harris County, Democratic Party FED PAC for some reason.
According to the Harris County Democratic Party’s “CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” the $147,000.34 was transferred to the Harris County Democratic Party FED PAC for what Odus Evbagharu labeled as “TRANSFER TO FED FOR ALLOCABLE AMOUNT” in the description section of his report.

In case you don’t know, Cindy Siegel serves as the Harris County Republican Party Chairman, and Cynthia L. England serves as the treasurer for the Harris County Republican Party. Unlike the Harris County Democratic Party, the GOP has a watchful eye over how their money is being spent. So, between May 15, 2022, and June 30, 2022, the Harris County Republican Party received $39,839.30 in “POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS” in the form of donations. That being said, they only made $25,203.78, in “EXPENDITURES” and closed out this particular filing period with $216,364.56 in their bank account.

In case you don’t know, Odus Evbagharu serves as the Harris County Democratic Party Chairman, and also serves as the treasurer for the Harris County Democratic Party. Are you telling me that the Harris County Democratic Party can’t find anyone to serve as their treasurer? Something stinks already? Anyways, between May 15, 2022, and June 30, 2022, the Harris County Democratic Party received an astonishing $413,144.83 in “POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS” in the form of donations. That being said, Odus Evbagharu reported $148,251.21 in “EXPENDITURES” and closed out this particular filing period with $3,27,615.10 in their bank account.
