Don’t Get it Twisted: My Take on Why Sheriff Ed Gonzalez Withdrew His Name from Consideration as Director of ICE

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, and his local media allies are doing some serious damage control in their quest to save his political career. How can I say this? Well, if Sheriff Ed Gonzalez had continued his fight to become the director of (ICE) Immigration and Customs Enforcement, he would have been exposed as a liar, and his wife (Dr. Melissa Gonzalez), would have been publicly humiliated before the entire nation, as she may have been forced to talk about the intimated details of her 'alleged' affair with her boss, Dr. Cesar Maldonado, the current chancellor of (HCC) Houston Community College. Not only that, Officer Fredrick Portis's AFFIDAVIT was going to come into play. Master Peace Officer Michael Bolton's AFFIDAVIT was was going to come into play. HCC Police Officer Marcus McNeil's AFFIDAVIT was going to come into play. Former HCC Sergeant James Bailey's AFFIDAVIT was going to come into play.  And former HCC Officer Kimberly Mason's AFFIDAVIT was prepared to testify as well. Now do you see why Sheriff Ed Gonzalez smartly removed his name from consideration?

Don’t Get it Twisted: My Take on Why Sheriff Ed Gonzalez Withdrew His Name from Consideration as Director of ICE

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

We all recently heard that Sheriff Ed Gonzalez “withdrew” his name from consideration for the ICE Director position. Well, if you want to know my opinion on the matter “withdrew” is a nice way of saying the tea leaves did not look good for Sheriff Ed Gonzalez getting approved for the position. In fact, one of my sources told me weeks ago that “Gonzalez is done!”—meaning his chances of becoming the ICE Director were slim to none. Thus, I was not surprised in the least bit when I heard that he was “withdrawing” his name…Big laughs!

Some of you may recall that I am the reporter who initially broke the story about HCC police officer Fredrick Portis’s affidavit that reported an incident he witnessed with Mrs. Gonzalez (Sheriff Ed Gonzalez’s wife) in HCC Chancellor Cesar Maldonado’s office. Officer Portis supplied a sworn affidavit stating that Mrs. Gonzalez wanted to report some type of violence complaint against (her husband) the sheriff, and that the HCC Chancellor interfered with his investigation. At the time of my reporting, both of the Gonzalez’s and Mr. Maldonado denied the event. And, that’s when things really got interesting.

Following all the unsworn denials by the Gonzalez’s and Maldonado—and by the way I have never seen a sworn denial by either of these people—-several local fans of the sheriff started questioning and discounting Officer Portis’s affidavit. But the tide changed when three (3) three more HCC police officers supplied sworn affidavits confirming and/or corroborating Officer Portis’ affidavit. I recently learned that FBI agents became interested in the story when these other police officers confirmed Officer Fredrick Portis’s story. And, I also learned of a fourth HCC police officer who provided a sworn affidavit stating that the HCC police department alters bodycam footage.

It is now puzzling to me that Sheriff Ed Gonzalez’s small local “PUBLIC RELATIONS” fan club would fail to mention all of the corroborating affidavits when discussing why Sheriff Ed Gonzalez withdrew his name from consideration. That being said, my take on the matter: five (5) HCC police officers can’t all be lying. And if their accounts are correct, then Gonzalez should have withdrawn his name and/or other people in the Whitehouse should have demanded he withdraw his name from consideration. The ICE Director position is too important to have someone leading it with a domestic violence story hanging over their head. In fact, the sheriff position is too important to have such a person in its seat. And, it is shameful that local media fans of the Sheriff would on the one hand rail against domestic violence and on the other hand blithely neglect to mention the mountainous affidavit evidence lodged against Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

So, don’t get it twisted! Kudos to all five (5) of the brave HCC police officers who came forward and swore to facts to bring them to light. And, thank you to Officer Frederick Portis for doing his job! I wish there were more people who would do the same thing.

Federal Court Rules $100 million racial discrimination lawsuit can proceed against (HCC) Houston Community College

HBC NEWSPAPER REPORTS©

Houston Community College has a major issue now! I’ve just obtained the “ORDER DENYING DISMISSAL” in the case of Zelia Brown versus Houston Community College, et al., Defendants.

Federal District Court Judge Lynne Hughes ruled that the $100 million racial discrimination lawsuit against HCC, Dr. Cesar Maldonado, and others will not be dismissed and will be permitted to proceed. The racial discrimination lawsuit alleges that under Cesar Maldonado’s leadership of the beleaguered community college Black employees have been systematically discriminated against in favor of less qualified Hispanics and people of other ethnicities. The lawsuit contains alarming allegations of Black employees being terminated after decades of constructive service to the college, false or questionable information being placed in the personnel files of black employees to set them up for termination, and the firing of the Black plaintiff when she reported unlawful use of grant funds—only to have her replaced by a Hispanic employee who admits to having no grant experience.

Now that the federal judge has “GREEN-LIGHTED THE CASE” it will proceed with the Plaintiffs having the right to engage in aggressive discovery efforts to prove their claims. Another companion racial discovery case in which over 120 additional Black HCC employees are suing the college is pending in the same federal courtroom.

Stay tuned to Houston Business Connections Newspaper©, for the latest in this ongoing saga.

FORT BEND COUNTY, TEXAS - "Trever Nehls needs our support and would make a very good County Judge in Fort Bend. As the former Fort Bend County Constable for Precinct 4, Trever Nehls understands the importance of keeping Fort Bend County residents safe. He has over 30 years of law enforcement experience. But what I absolutely love about Trever Nehls, is that I've watched him closely for many years, and I've never really seen him use his elected position to play political games or party politics. So, I believe him when he says, that he'll use his decades of law enforcement experience to work with law enforcement partners throughout Fort Bend County to make sure they have the staffing and resources they need to keep the streets of Fort Bend County safe. All of that being said, TREVER NEHLS is the only candidate in the race for Fort Bend County Judge who values our vote, and respects "OUR COMMUNITY" enough to ask for "OUR SUPPORT" on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. FINAL THOUGHTS

Over the course of the last few years, I've caught flack from both sides of the political spectrum and have consistently been disrespected, shunned, and ignored by some mainstream media outlets. I've also been threatened directly and indirectly since I began investigating local politicians and their cronies who are committed to remaining in power by any means necessary. That being said, I am strongly encouraging you to do your due diligence and research this time around. The upcoming election is unquestionably the most important election of our lifetimes. And thus, propaganda, flat out lies, and deceptive news reports are being peddled to the public like popcorn at the "RINGLING BROS AND BARNUM & BAILEY CIRCUS" on a daily basis.

"Now is the time when our love for America must prevail. It is incumbent upon us to elect "PUBLIC SERVANTS" who understand that they work for us. We need "ELECTED OFFICIALS" in office who love "OUR CONSTITUTION" and the ideals that our nation was founded upon by our forefathers. We must make it our collective effort to "PUT PEOPLE OVER POLITICS" and do what's best for America during this crucial moment in time."

Favoritism and Party Politics Have No Place Inside Our Harris County Courtrooms

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

At the end of the day, the judicial races are the most important races on the ballot. That said, who we allow to put on that black robe and occupy judicial benches (especially in Harris County, Texas) matters a great deal. Over the years, through straight-ticket voting, and folks going into the polls playing "Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe" we've allowed a few bad folks to slip through the cracks. Now, I'm not trying to play party politics in any way, shape, or form, with my words. All I'm trying to say is that nobody is perfect, but if we make it our goal to elevate people who fear God and have a backbone into positions of authority, every one of us will be afforded the opportunity to live our best life.
