Chapter of AITP Wins Collegiate Conference Competition

Prairie View A&M University students competed against more than 30 schools in various technology-related competitions at the Association of Information Technology Professionals in St. Louis.

Christopher Perkins, Farhan Khan, Leah Gilbert and Krystal Hunter, management information systems (MIS) students travelled to the conference with their advisor, Henry Rose, after spending weeks preparing for competition.

During the awards ceremony, the judges announced that that Khan won first place in the Networking Design competition scoring higher than the members of the second place team from Texas State University. Khan also received special recognition for the Security qualifying test and scenario finals competition.

“We had some challenges preparing to make this trip,” said Rose. “The students performed well at the student regional competition in Lafayette, Louisiana in fall and we did what we could to ensure that they could compete at the national competition. AITP planned and worked really hard to make this trip work. We are all proud of them."
