Dulles Vikings Baseball Team scores big with stellar season

FORT BEND ISD ― The Dulles High School (DHS) Vikings baseball team provided much excitement for their team, parents, fans and school as they continued to advance in the playoffs, eventually earning a spot at the 5A State Championship game on Saturday, June 8, in Round Rock at Dell Stadium.

While they ultimately lost the championship game to The Woodlands High School in a hard-fought battle, the DHS Vikings ended their season with an impressive record of 32 wins and only 8 losses.

“The coaching staff is proud of this team for their great season,” said head baseball coach Clinton Welch. “The players worked hard and made many sacrifices along the way. On behalf of the team, we also want to acknowledge and thank the fans who continuously energized this team with their support.”

Following the game, the team participated in a graduation ceremony on the field for the 14 senior team members who were missing their school’s graduation ceremony being held that day. Grayle James, Board of Trustees Assistant Secretary, was there to present the players with their diplomas.
