FORT BEND ISD - Elkins High School’s Sam Konstanty was named the Outstanding Male Scholar-Athlete at the Touchdown Club of Houston’s 47th Spring Sports Scholar-Athlete Dinner, held May 22, 2013. The Touchdown Club honored 69 finalists in 17 UIL-sponsored categories for both boys’ and girls’ divisions. There were four finalists in each of the 17 categories, with one winner being named in each sport. Konstanty was named the winner of the Boy’s Soccer category at the dinner, and joined other category winners in being eligible for the Outstanding Scholar-Athlete award. Area high school athletic directors judged the students on academic standing, athletics and citizenship as embodied in their extra-curricular activities.
