Here's A Few Reasons Why Local Black Leaders Are Endorsing Shawn Thierry Over Lauren Ashley Simmons on May 28, 2024

When you objectively examine why State Rep. Shawn Thierry (HD-146) is being attacked by her opponent (Lauren Ashley Simmons) and her allies, you will see that State Rep. Thierry has been targeted.
Plain and simple, the information being allowed to flow through some of the country's media outlets is being heavily skewed to favor Lauren Ashely Simmons and shed a negative light on State Rep. Shawn Thierry. In fact, I would add that some of the information flowing through these media outlets could be intentionally distorted and misleading the general public, as State Rep. Shawn Thierry's voting record is concerned.
First, the radio commercials run by Lauren Ashley Simmons and her allies, claiming that State Rep. Shawn Thierry voted along with Governor Greg Abbott, are patently false. How can I make this claim? For those of you who might not know, the constitutional authority granted to Governor Greg Abbott does not allow him to vote on bills, so State Rep. Shawn Thierry could not have voted with Gov. Abbott on anything.
For the record, Gov. Greg Abbott is responsible for signing or vetoing bills passed by the Legislature and is the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces.
Gov. Abbott also has the power to convene special sessions of the Legislature for specific purposes if he chooses to do so like he's done on occasion over the last few legislative cycles.
"BLATANT LIES."
If you remember, this Lauren Ashley Simmons woman claimed that State Rep. Shawn Thierry was somehow involved in the HISD takeover, just like she "LIED TO POLICE" and gave them a false identity (before being arrested) a few years ago, in Travis County, Texas.
Another blatant lie that's being spread about State Rep. Shawn Thierry is that she banned books. Of all of the lies being spread about State Rep. Shawn Thierry, the one related to the banning of supposed "LGBTQ+ BOOKS" is perhaps the most egregious.
I've provided a few examples (FOUR PAGES) of a couple of books in question that include graphic content that our "UNDERAGE CHILDREN" should not have access to in public schools or libraries without the consent of their parents or guardians.
"STANDING STRONG."
This Lauren Ashley Simmons woman and her allies seem to believe that "UNDERAGE CHILDREN" should be allowed to view pornographic materials while at school and visiting public libraries. On the other hand, State Rep. Shawn Thierry and over "500 LOCAL PASTORS" and other "BLACK COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS" are standing strong with Thierry and encouraging you to implore your family, friends, and neighbors to cast their vote for her on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in Harris County, Texas.

Lauren Ashley Simmons believes that it's right for underage school children to be able to view pornographic material in books while at school and visiting local public libraries in Texas. So, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the voters of House District 146 must reject this woman at the ballot box and cast their vote for State Rep.
