30 Key Modern-Day Black Democratic Female Trailblazers Who are Running for Office in Competitive 2020, Democratic Primary Races

Thirty Key Modern-Day Black Female Trailblazers are Running for Office in Contested Democratic Primary Races in Harris County, Texas

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

If you thought African American women were tough to beat in Harris County, Texas back in 2018, just wait until you get a glance at the Harris County Democratic Party’s 2020 roster of Black women running in contested Tuesday, March 3, 2020, primary races. And please believe me when I tell you that this is one dynamic and "DULY-QUALIFIED" group of potential Democratic primary nominees. Why should you take my word for it? Because I said so...just joking! Look, I’ve been involved in politics for nearly thirty years in Texas, and I can assure you that this class of "UNIQUELY QUALIFIED BLACK WOMEN" is perhaps one of the strongest slates of African American women ever assembled locally, by either major political party. And speaking of a strong, classy, educated, and uniquely qualified black woman running for office in 2020, that lifelong Democrat Jeralynn Manor, is going to give Judge Larry Weiman all he can handle in the Democratic primary race for the 80th Civil District Court bench. But if you haven't noticed already, Attorney Jeralynn Manor is the real deal in my opinion. Do you know her? Just in case you don’t, she’s a Thurgood Marshall School of Law graduate. Now, I know for many of you she’s earned your vote with that right there. But hold your horses, I’m not finished. Attorney Manor earned the American Juris Prudence Award in Bankruptcy under the tutelage of the Honorable Justice Manual Leal of the Southern District of Texas Bankruptcy Court. Attorney Manor also won 1st place in the Mock Trial competition while she was at Texas Southern University. And get this, back in 2001 she earned her Juris Doctorate and became a licensed attorney by the Texas Supreme Court. She’s been practicing law for 18 plus years too! And yes, she’s taken cases to trial and won as well. Nope! I’m still not done! Attorney Jeralynn Manor practiced law during the early part of her career as a closing attorney for three major title companies. And while working as a closing attorney she played an integral role in helping thousands of Texans to achieve their lifelong dreams of home-ownership. Isn’t that awesome? And yes, she earned a little paper along the way in the process! Now, she’s not one to brag, but this "DULY-QUALIFIED" lifelong Democrat has a calm, and mild demeanor in person, but the tenacity of a pit bull in the courtroom. So, Democrats are strongly encouraged to keep in mind that Attorney Jeralynn Manor is asking for your vote, prayers, and financial support on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in the Democratic primary race for Judge, 80th Civil District Court. And if you don’t think Attorney Jeralynn Manor can unseat Judge Weiman in 2020, you had better think again. As a woman of faith, she’s trusting God to deliver on His promise.

THE TOP 2020 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY JUDICIAL RACE IN ALL OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS FEATURES MANOR AGAINST WEIMAN

How Democratic Primary Voters Cast Ballots in the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic Primary Could Determine How the 'Backbone' of the Democratic Party Turns Out Next Fall

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

It was evidently clear that U.S. Senator Cory Booker and U.S. Senator Kamala Harris, were both longshots when they threw their hats into the ring to seek the Democratic nomination in the race for President of the United States in 2020. While Sen. Harris has already dropped out of the race, Sen. Cory Booker will appear on the ballot in Harris County, Texas on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, along with Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Michael R. Bloomberg, Andrew Yang, Joseph R. Biden, Roque "Rocky" De La Fuente, John K. Delaney, Deval Patrick, Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Bennet, Tulsi Gabbard, Marianne Williamson, Julian Castro, and Robby Wells. That being said, both Senator Booker and Senator Harris have delivered a grave warning to the Democratic Party about black voters! Both Senator Booker and Senator Harris believe that Democrats take the black vote for granted -- especially black women, and I concur. Here, in Texas, we can already see "CLEAR AND COMPELLING BIAS AGAINST BLACK WOMEN" in several key local and statewide races where African American women are running against Democrats from other ethnic groups. So, it's imperative and fundamentally important that we keep a close eye on the Democratic primary races involving Black women on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. So, I have designated the race for Judge, 80th Civil District Court as the "TOP DEMOCRATIC JUDICIAL RACE" on the entire Democratic primary ballot for Harris County, Texas. The race for Judge of the 80th Civil District Court features a young, progressive, and "DULY-QUALIFIED" lifelong Democrat by the name of Attorney Jeralynn Manor, seeking to unseat a sitting fellow Democrat by the name of Judge Larry Weiman on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in Harris County, Texas. This race is of significance to the Harris County Democratic Party primary voters in several different regards. First off, there's no mistaking how important the African American female vote will be when the Tuesday, November 3, 2020, general election rolls around. So, what Harris County Democratic primary voters do in races involving "DULY-QUALIFIED" African Americans on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, could undoubtedly go a long way in determining whether or not, Democratic nominees will be able to depend on the support of the "BACKBONE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY" on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in general election in Harris County, Texas. Yep, you heard me right, getting the race for Judge, 80th Civil District Court wrong, could have a lasting impact on the success of the entire body of Harris County Democratic nominees whereas the general election in 2020 is concerned. That being said, I implore you to keep a watchful eye on the races involving, Amanda Edwards, Nyanza Davis Moore, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Melissa Wilson, Judge Staci Williams, Tamika Craft, Melissa Morris, State Rep. Alma Allen, Akilah Bacy, Angeanette Thibodeaux, State Rep. Senfronia Thompson, State Rep. Shawn Nicole Thierry, Aurelia Wagner, Jeralynn Manor, Judge Alexandria Smoots-Thomas, Cheryl Elliott Thornton, Judge Ursula A. Hall, Judge Nikita "Niki" Harmon, Brittanye Morris, Dawn Deshea Rogers, Candance White, Te'iva Bell, Audia Jones, Carvana Cloud, Ann Harris Bennett, Jolanda "Jo" Jones, Erica Davis, Maria T. (Terri) Jackson, and Wanda Adams on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in Harris County, Texas.

And nope, her desire to become a judge isn’t rooted in some lofty goal she conjured up in her mind as a child – it’s a calling on her life! And everything she’s been through in her life to get to this point has conspired together to uniquely mold her into the woman she’s become, thus uniquely preparing her for this season of her life. All that’s left now, is for Democrats to cast their vote to make her the Democratic nominee on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. After she’s won the Democratic nomination she will then, face off against the Republican nominee who is sitting over there unopposed in the Republican primary raising money in hopes of getting a shot to take down Judge Weiman next fall. Judge Ramona Franklin is a lifelong Democrat who is running for re-election in 2020 unopposed. She currently serves as the presiding judge over the 338th Criminal District Court in Harris County, Texas. While Judge Ramona Franklin has already won her re-election bid, please don't forget that there are other "DULY QUALIFIED DEMOCRATS" who will need for you to still cast a ballot in the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic primary.

GOD ANSWERS THE PRAYER OF JUDGE RAMONA FRANKLIN CONCERNING HER 2020 RE-ELECTION BID IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

“Don’t tell me what prayer won’t do,” says Judge Ramona Franklin, one of the key incumbent judges who was featured internationally in what is affectionately remembered as the “BLACK GIRL MAGIC” movement of 2018. A lot of folks didn’t understand why Judge Ramona Franklin, who was "FAITHFULLY SERVING" as the presiding judge for the 338th Criminal District Court, would run for higher office in the midterm election back in 2018 when she was going to be right back up for re-election in the 2020 Presidential Election. I’ll tell you why Judge Ramona Franklin and her fellow sitting judge Maria T. Jackson, who at the time was the longest-serving felony court judge in all of Harris County, Texas were both on a mission much larger than themselves back in 2018a mission from a higher power if you will -- at least that's my take! And hey, besides that, neither of them had to relinquished their benches to run for the higher offices they were seeking back in 2018 anyways. “What an awesome God we serve,” said Judge Ramona Franklin when she learned of the news that she has already won her 2020 bid for re-election without having to face a Democratic opponent on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, or a Republican opponent on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Wow! Is it by chance that Judge Ramona Franklin is running for re-election unopposed in 2020? Or could it perhaps be by divine order? You know, after all, Psalms 149:4 in the New International Version of the Holy Bibles does state, “For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.” Hey, in case you don't know, Judge Ramona Franklin is unmistakably one of the most humble people I know when it comes to giving God the honor, glory and praise for the miracles He's performed whereas she's concerned. Could it be that the Lord rewarded Judge Franklin’s faithfulness back in 2018, with a clear and decisive unchallenged victory in the 2020 general election? Look, after all, in hindsight, she and Judge Maria T. Jackson’s presence as part of the “BLACK GIRL MAGIC” movement brought a degree of credibility, experience, and muscle to the group that could not, and still cannot ever be denied.

Just like the late Harris County Precinct 1 Commissioner El Franco Lee, Judge Maria T. Jackson is a lifelong Democrat who cares about the people of Harris County -- not fattening her pocketbook. That's why she's stepped down off her bench to run for Harris County Commissioner for Precinct 1 on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in the Democratic primary. In case you don't know, the family of the late Commissioner El Franco Lee is supporting Judge Maria T. Jackson in her quest to unseat Commissioner Rodney Ellis on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. So, please don't forget that early voting will begin on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, and end on Friday, February 28, 2020, in Harris County, Texas.

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Awesome candidates like Judge Maria T. Jackson cannot win without your prayers, vote and financial support on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. So, please consider making a donation of $20.20 to help Judge Maria T. Jackson in her quest to earn the Democratic nomination in the race for Harris County Commissioner for Precinct 1 Tuesday. March 3, 2020, in Harris County, Texas. In case you haven't heard, Judge Maria T. Jackson is back leading an even larger group of “DULY-QUALIFIED” African American women into battle in 2020. But she’s not running for re-election to the 339th Criminal District Court bench she held while serving as the longest-running felony court judge in all of Harris County, Texas. Nope, she’s got bigger fish to fry this time around. So, she stepped down from her bench to go take on a man whom many believe is unbeatable. Who is this unbeatable man? Well, he’s Rodney Ellis, the current Harris County Commissioner for Precinct 1, the seat that was formerly held by the late County Commissioner El Franco Lee, prior to his untimely death back in 2016. So, when early voting begins in Harris County, Texas on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, Commissioner Rodney Ellis, and Judge Maria T. Jackson will face off in a winner-take-all showdown for all of the marbles in the bag. Look, whether Ellis or Jackson will emerge as the victor remains to be seen. But as for Judge Jackson, she says, “I’m not fearing any man. I’m trusting in God to give me the victory,” she proclaimed.

Attorney Jeralynn Manor is a lifelong Democrat who is running for Judge, 80th Civil District Court on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in the Democratic Primary. Support from Attorney Jeralynn Manor and others made the publishing of this "2020 MODERN-DAY DEMOCRATIC TRAILBLAZERS" running for office in Harris County, Texas possible. You are strongly encouraged to CLICK HERE to help Attorney Jeralynn Manor win her Democratic primary race on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Attorney Jeralynn Manor will be seeking to unseat a fellow Democratic by the name of Judge Larry Weiman. In case you’ve never heard of Judge Larry Weiman, it could be because he was swept into office during the historic “OBAMA WAVE” back in the historic 2008 Presidential Election. He followed up being swept into office during the “OBAMA WAVE” back in 2008, by riding the “OBAMA WAVE” for the second time in the 2012 Presidential Election. And he followed up riding the “OBAMA WAVE” during two consecutive Presidential Election cycles, by hitching a ride on “HILLARY CLINTON’S COATTAIL” back during the 2016 Presidential Election, where she beat Donald Trump in Harris County by well over 200,000 votes. So, fast forward to the 2020 Democratic primary, Judge Larry Weiman has never had to face off against anyone like Attorney Jeralynn Manor in a winner-take-all showdown. This Thurgood Marshall School of Law graduate is the real deal. And she’s hungry too! In my opinion, Judge Weiman will be lucky to come within 5% points of Manor in their Democratic primary showdown. Yes, she’s just that good in my opinion! And nope, I’m not crazy. What makes this race difficult for Judge Weiman, is that if she chose to do so, Attorney Jeralynn Manor could match him dollar for dollar on her own dime. But don’t get it twisted, a “DULY-QUALIFIED” lifelong Democrat like Attorney Manor should in no way have to win this bench by self-funding her campaign. “I’m asking for donations of any amount,” says Attorney Jeralynn Manor. “The time has come for Judge Larry Weiman to be removed from the bench. And I’m asking for your prayers, donations, and vote in my quest to serve the people, and protect the “CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS” of those who find themselves in front of me when I’m elected as the presiding judge for the 80th Civil District Court bench in Harris County, Texas.

Attorney Jeralynn Manor is pictured with her son Taft Foley III, an Eagle Scout. She is married and has three children. Jeralynn Manor enjoys being a mother to her three children Taft (17), Rogdrick (13), and Brooklynn (7). Jeralynn Manor instills into her children the same values of hard work, dedication, service to all mankind, and love, passed on to her by her father, the late Sgt. Jerome M. Dupre.

ATTORNEY JERALYNN MANOR IS A GREAT MOTHER AND UNIQUELY QUALIFIED TO SERVE THE PEOPLE OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS AN AWESOME JUDGE

Jeralynn Manor was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her mother was a nurse, and her father, a career officer with the New Orleans Police Department. There he set the bar high for his daughter. He attained numerous awards and accommodations, including various achievements, such as becoming the first African American counter-sniper for the SWAT department and the first African American diver on the dive team. Manor’s hard work and high goal standards are certainly founded in her bloodline. Jeralynn Manor’s “service to all mankind” mantra and dedication to her craft is evidenced in her career achievements.

Jeralynn studied philosophy at Xavier University in New Orleans before finishing her undergraduate studies in Administration of Justice at Texas Southern University. She went on to Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she earned the American Juris Prudence Award in Bankruptcy under the tutelage of the Honorable Justice Manual Leal of the Southern District of Texas Bankruptcy Court. 2020 BLACK HISTORY MONTH TRAILBLAZERS

In the spirit of excellence exemplified by former First Lady Michelle Obama, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and the late Barbara Jordan, the first African American congresswoman to come from the Deep South. Houston business Connections Newspaper© believes that the “DULY-QUALIFIED” of potential Harris County Democratic party nominees featured below are worthy of recognition as “2020 BLACK FEMALE MODERN DAY TRAILBLAZERS” as they seek Democratic nominations on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in Harris County, Texas. “Black women are the backbone of the Democratic Party, and we can’t take that for granted,” Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez said via his Twitter account not so long ago. So, let’s hope 2020 Democratic primary voters in Harris County, Texas are fully aware of the power wielded by African American women, and give full consideration to these women in their respective races on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, when they face off against their fellow Democratic rivals.

WITH STRAIGHT-TICKET VOTING ABOLISHED DEMOCRATIC SELECTING THE RIGHT DEMOCRATIC NOMINEES IN HARRIS COUNTY WILL BE CRUCIAL

As Harris County Democratic and Republican voters prepare to select their nominees, they must keep several key things in mind going forward. First, primary voters must make it their business to nominate candidates who have the ability to run active campaigns against their opponents in the general election. Why? There won’t be any getting lucky on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, when the general election takes place in Harris County, Texas. Look, back in 2016, Democrats running countywide received 36,121 straight-ticket votes by way of “ABSENTEE BALLOTS” while their Republican counterparts only received 32,592 straight-ticket votes by way of “ABSENTEE BALLOTS” in Harris County, Texas. And in case you don’t remember, Democratic candidates also got the better of their Republican counterparts by way of straight-ticket voting during the “EARLY VOTING PERIOD” as 307,356 straight-ticket votes were cast for Democratic candidates who were running countywide. Comparatively speaking, Republican candidates running countywide back in 2016 only received 275,435 straight-ticket votes during the “EARLY VOTING PERIOD” in Harris County, Texas. And the sheer dominance displayed by Harris County Democratic voters by way of the straight-ticket voting process was astounding on “ELECTION DAY” as well. In case you don’t remember, 128,553 straight-ticket votes were cast by Democratic voters in Harris County, Texas back on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, in the general election. All total, 472,030 straight-ticket votes were cast by Democratic voters in Harris County, Texas back in 2016. And after only receiving 401,663 total straight-ticket votes when you combine their "ELECTION DAY" voting with their “ABSENTEE VOTING” and “EARLY VOTING” it’s no wonder the straight-ticket voting option has been abolished by the Republican-controlled Texas legislature -- things were starting to get out of hand in Texas.

A PROBLEM HARRIS COUNTY DEMOCRATS MAY FACE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020 IF THE RIGHT NOMINEES ARE NOT SELECTED

Make no mistake about it not having straight-ticket voting is going to hurt Democratic candidates a lot more than it’s going to hurt Republican candidates in the 2020 general election. You must remember, Republican candidates, tend to do much better with independents and non-straight-ticket voters in Harris County, Texas. So, many Harris County voters who didn't vote a straight-ticket anyway, are already accustomed to going down the ballot and selecting the names of all the candidates they like. The challenge Democrats will face in 2020, is getting their base to go into the voting booth after working all day and then scrolling down the ballot and selecting all of the Democratic candidates. Especially when they are used to simply walking into the voting booth and pressing the straight-ticket voting option and capturing all of the Democratic candidates with the push of one button. However, Republican candidates will also face the same challenge in my opinion, but to a lesser degree.

UNDER VOTES WILL BE A PROBLEM IN TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020 GENERAL ELECTION IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS

Getting Democratic and Republican voters to select candidates in every race will be a big problem in Harris County, Texas in 2020 without a straight-ticket voting option. Why? Look, even with straight-ticket voting as an option, voters for one reason or another would skip over some races. Sometimes it’s because they don’t like one, or both of the candidates running. At other times, some voters simply only care about one race on the ballot – which tends to cause the number of undervotes to increase as voters scroll down the ballot. For instance, back in the last general election, there were only 26,622 undervotes in the race for President of the United States in Harris County, Texas. However, the number of voters skipping over down-ballot judicial races ranged from 63,000 to 69,000 in Harris County, Texas back in 2016. That being said, I am estimating the number of voters skipping over countywide judicial races in 2020 is going to fall anywhere between a range of 100,000 to 250,000 in Harris County, Texas on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in Harris County, Texas.
