Judge-Elect Michelle Moore Defeated Judge John F. Phillips in the race for the 314th Family District Court in the 2018 Midterm Election

JUDGE-ELECT MICHELLE MOORE UNSEATED JUDGE JOHN F. PHILLIPS; STRAIGHT-TICKET VOTING WAS NOT A FACTOR IN MOORE’S VICTORY

In case you don’t know, Judge-Elect Michelle Moore would have still defeated Judge John F. Phillips in the race for Family District Judge, 314th Judicial District Court – even without the 104,698 straight-ticket voting cushion she received from Democratic voters in Harris County, Texas back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in the midterm election. Here’s why: Michelle Moore received 673,556 overall votes. When you subtract the 514,758 straight-ticket votes, you come up with 158,798 votes. Comparatively speaking, if you subtract the 410,060 straight-ticket votes, Judge John F. Phillips received from his overall vote total of 505,073 you come up with 95,013 votes. So, in essence, even if you stripped away the straight-ticket votes received by Judge-Elect Michelle Moore and Judge John F. Phillips, she would have still defeated him by approximately 63,785 votes back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in the midterm election in my opinion.
