Make no mistake about it Harris County has earned the right to be called one of the most corrupt counties in America. And when you get right down to it, the City of Houston has also rightfully earned the "DUBIOUS DISTINCTION" of being labeled the death capital of America. And believe it, or not, things are only going to get worse going forward if something doesn't change.

Gerry Wayne Monroe had been sick for three days leading up to his death. However, the last two tweets sent out by Gerry Wayne Monroe summed up his work and advocacy. The first tweet read, "Cheating on the STAAR test at Henderson Elementary. Principal backing teachers on checking the students' tests as they go." He went on to say, "Sent K-2nd on a field trip and let teachers test their own kids and check their tests." His next tweet which was sent out a few hours later said, "951816 I'm down I w. We. One of my best friends and allies, Gerry Wayne Monroe, (The 5-Star General) passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023. That being said, his life and legacy are being torn apart on social media platforms, podcasts, and FACEBOOK channels – which is not what the 5-Star General would have wanted. What we’re seeing unfold isn't doing anything but tainting the legacy of a man who cared deeply about children, and gave tirelessly of himself without reward, and it needs to STOP IMMEDIATELY!!! Right now!!!
The final TWEET posted on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 12:24 p.m. by the 5-Star General as he lay at home alone on his couch dying read, “Cheating on the STARR test at Henderson Elementary. Principal backing teachers on checking the students test as they go.”

How did I know that the 5-Star General was dying? Well, the very "LAST TWEET" he ever posted was tweeted at 4:14 p.m., and read, “951816 I’m down I w. We. Sick for days siMe Steo Ayala.”
After speaking to Ericka Albert, I now understand that she was out running errands and spoke to ‘my boy’ Gerry Wayne Monroe at around 2:00 p.m., the evening of Saturday, April 29, 2023, which means, that the two presumably spoke between his "FIRST TWEET" and "FINAL TWEET" as he lay dying on his sofa at home alone.

He was also very excited about his prospects of becoming one of the “TEA BOARD MANAGERS” who will be watching over the HISD School District over the course of the next few years.

The 5-Star General was extremely proud that his candidacy was still under consideration at the time we talked a few days prior to his death. However, after the 5-Star General didn't receive the call, that he so eagerly awaited from (TEA) Texas Education as he lay dying on the couch, it broke his heart. How do I know? Well, according to Ericka Albert, "Gerry hadn't been feeling well, and would not go to the hospital, because he thought they would keep him, and he would miss the call from TEA."
So, after doing a little research, reviewing the 5-Star General’s TWITTER page, and FACEBOOK page, and having inside knowledge about how “my boy’s” health was failing him, I can’t help but wonder if, Gerry Wayne Monroe, knew that his time was drawing near.
“What’s done is done,” said Gerry Wayne Monroe on the FACEBOOK POST, which he pinned to his page back on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, @ 7:06 a.m., and is currently still affixed to his page.
In true “5-Star” fashion he says, “Our focus should be on making sure our kids get the help they need. Our teachers get the resources that they need,” he explained.
According to Gerry Wayne Monroe, “Shelia Jackson Lee doesn’t have a leg to stand on. First, she was filing a federal lawsuit, then she was going to get the US Department of Justice to intervene, now it’s talk to Morath. None of this will work.”
“I can’t stand with some of these people knowing they sat quietly while our schools were left to die,” said 5-Star, speaking of “THE TEA TAKEOVER” of the Houston Independent School District.
If you take a moment and go to the FACEBOOK PAGE of Gerry Wayne Monroe you will get a much deeper understanding of who ‘my boy’ really was deep down inside. “These politicians are using this issue for voting purposes. And some of the most intelligent people in that room last night could not see that,” he said. “Our kids need help now. Not tomorrow but now. And I will never trust the enemy that hurt them in the first place. Take it over 'cause if they don’t we will lose it all,” he explained.

At the end of the day, we must not forget about Gerry Wayne Monroe’s legacy. His body was nothing but a shell, but the fond memories, he left us with, will live on forever.
My hope and prayer are that Gerry’s daughter, friends, and his wife, (Ericka Albert) the only wife I knew, get it together before all folks will remember about Gerry Wayne Monroe, are his shortcomings, misgivings, and regrets. We are all human beings at the end of the day, and we've all made mistakes along the way. And we've all sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God. That being said, there will never be another "5-STAR GENERAL" but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his followers forever.
