Why isn’t Harris County Commissioner helping his fellow
Democrats who are being sued by their Republican rivals? If he had the juice to
loan $100,000 to Lesley Briones, Democrats from far and near should be taking
him to task for not helping the poor Democrats who are being sued right now.
Republican are much more committed to their folks
(nominees) than Democrats appear to be at this time. But what’s up with Harris
County Commissioner Rodney Ellis? Does he give a darn about anyone but himself?
The (21) twenty-one Democrats who are being sued by
Republicans in Harris County to overturn the results of the Tuesday, November 8,
2022, Midterm Election don’t have much time left to raise money to fight their
legal battle. For the record, Wednesday, March 8, 2022, is the last day that Democrats
who are being sued by their Republican rivals can raise money.
After Wednesday, March 8, 2022, County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Judge
Latosha Lewis Payne, Judge DaSean Jones, Judge Tamika “Tami” Craft, Judge Cory
Sepolio, Judge Christine Weems, Judge David Fleischer, Judge Kelley Andrews,
Judge Erika Ramirez, Judge Toria J. Finch, Judge Juanita Jackson, Judge Sedrick
T. Walker II, Judge Genesis Draper, Judge Audrie Lawton Evans, Judge LaShawn Williams,
Judge Monic Singh, Judge Jason Cox, and Judge James Horwitz, will have to fund
their legal efforts on the own.

So, have top Democrats like Harris County Commissioner
Rodney Ellis, Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia, or Harris County Judge
Lina Hidalgo stepped in to help the (21) twenty-one Democrats being sued to raise
money? Or what about donating money directly to their campaign? Couldn’t they
donate money to the Harris County Republican Party, and then have the HCDP donate
the money directly to the judges?
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo had $1,488,652.78 in her
campaign bank account bank on Friday, January 13, 2023, listed as cash on hand.
So, with over a million dollars in the bank, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo
can fend for herself, and still has enough left over to donate $5,000 to each
of the Democratic judges who are being sued.
When you subtract Carla Wyatt, Marilyn Burgess, and Lina
(herself) from the equation, that leaves (19) nineteen candidates, Harris
County Judge Lina Hidalgo could easily make a $5,000.00 donation would only amount to $90,000 and she would still have $1,398,652, left in
her campaign bank account, as cash on hand.
With only $291,697.86 in his campaign account, Harris County
Commissioner Adrian Garcia doesn’t have as much in the bank as his cohorts
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo and the “PUPPET MASTER” as Harris County Commissioner
Rodney Ellis, has been labeled over the years.
As for the “PUPPET MASTER” himself, Harris County
Commissioner Rodney Ellis isn’t doing anything with his campaign money but getting
up in the morning and rolling the dice in the “NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE” all day
– every single day.
On the campaign finance report Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s filed
back on January 18, 2022, he reported having $4,192,308.00 cash on hand in his
bank account.
Between his January 18, 2022, campaign finance report, and
when he filed his July 15, 2022, campaign finance report, Harris County
Commissioner Rodney Ellis went from having $4,192,308.00 cash on hand to only
having $3,805,232.00 cash on hand inside his campaign bank account. Then on his
very next campaign finance report, which was filed on January 17, 2023, Harris County
Commissioner Rodney Ellis reported only having $3,534,358.00 cash on hand inside
his campaign bank account.
“GAMBLING FUNDS.”
Make no mistake about it, Harris County Commissioner Rodney
Ellis is “GAMBLING CAMPAIGN FUNDS” and not wisely investing his campaign in the
New York Stock Exchange.
I’ve been sitting back and closely watching Commissioner Rodney
Ellis roll the dice with the campaign funds that have been donated to him for a
long time. Heck, I was watching (then State Senator Rodney Ellis) way back when
he was still in the Texas Senate when a few of his Republican colleagues
discovered that $500,000.00 had just vanished into thin air from his campaign
finance report.
Now, the saddest part about the $500,000.00, which came up
missing way back then was the fact that Ellis’s Republican colleagues at the
time, just let him off the hook.
According to published reports from back in the day, Ellis's
campaign finance report didn't contain the field where candidates are supposed
to detail how securities purchased from their campaign accounts lost value. Why
is this important? Well, the special field is supposed to serve as a
safeguard to prevent "OFFICE HOLDERS" from making poor investments
with the campaign money that has been donated to their campaign during any
given reporting period.
So, because Ellis' form didn't contain the field, this made
it nearly impossible to determine whether or not he was making poor investment
decisions with his campaign money.
To his credit, Rodney Ellis did go ahead and admit that he had lost the $500,000.00 in the stock market – but he claimed that he earned the money back through other investments.
Ellis doesn't;t care about anyone but himself, his cronies, and his agenda. How can I say this? Well, if Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis cares so much about the “BLACK COMMUNITY” why isn’t he helping the Black judicial candidates who are being sued like he helped Lesley Briones, a Democrat, to defeat Commissioner R. Jack Cagle, a Republican, in the race for Harris County Commissioner for Precinct 4, back during the Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Midterm Election.
