Our Judges Must Be Honest, Fair, Tough, Smart, Compassionate, Considerate and Open-Minded

A COMPASSIONATE JUDGE

“Prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fridays would be very busy in Judge Erica Hughes’ courtroom. This dynamic young judge currently presides over Harris County Criminal Court at Law #3.“It is always busy in our court on Fridays. You never know what you will see or what will happen,” she said in a Facebook post she published shortly after taking the bench following her historic win back in the 2018 Midterm Election. “Today we had a case on the docket that had been there for over 1 year,” she went on to say. The aforementioned case had been on the docket long before Judge Hughes took the bench away from her Republican predecessor. So, what does a compassionate judge who cares about all people do? I’m glad you asked!!! So, rather than throw the defendant in jail and try to show everyone that she could be tough on crime, Judge Erica Hughes showed compassion and empathy to get the case resolved. “To get this case resolved we had the baby on the bench and the mother resolved her case,” said Judge Hughes.

A JUDGE FOR ALL PEOPLE

“According to Judge Erica Hughes, the presiding judge for Harris County Criminal Court at Law #3, her court has a general policy that children aren’t allowed in court if the defendant has a case on docket. Why? Well, according to her there are several reasons. “The reasons are 1: we have limited seating for Defendants on the docket, 2: Children may disrupt the normal flow and noise level in court, and 3: sometimes the individual who brought the child will be taken into custody or a protective order is in place to protect the child,” she says. She went on to say via a Facebook post about this particular incident, “We will have to call CPS or another family member if the individual is taken into custody to get the child. However, on this particular day, Judge Erica Hughes decided to have compassion on the mother who brought her 5 month old baby to court with a carrier and stroller. Have you ever seen anything like this before??? According to Judge Hughes, they could only fit about 100 people in her courtroom. But on this particular day, she had 147 people on her docket. “This baby cried and made noise from the moment court started,” said Judge Hughes. So what did Judge Erica Hughes, the presiding judge for Harris County Criminal Court at Law #3 decide to do? Well, get this, “The Defendant in this case had a protective order in place and wasn’t supposed to be in the presence of the baby, in the first place from what I understand. But what this compassionate member of the judiciary did was make an exception to her rule, and she cared for the child.”

Judge Erica Hughes is a keeper! On Monday, December 13, 2021, it would be very disappointing to see Judge Erica Hughes draw a primary challenger. As a matter of fact, there's absolutely no reason why any Democrat should challenge Judge Erica Hughes on "SUPER TUESDAY" in Harris County, Texas.

The Honorable Judge Erica Hughes is a Compassionate, Smart, Efficient, Unbiased, Democrat Who Just Happens to Be a Black Woman

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

On yesterday, Tuesday, April 21, 2021, a Democratic Precinct Chair and Political Consultant by the name of Antonio Maldonado sent me a text that accused me of selling out Blacks and Latinos to get whites elected. But this wanna be political consultant is dead wrong -- I LOVE MY PEOPLE!!! Now, while I probably should not even address this issue publicly, I must because, this seems to be a strategy that’s playing into a much broader plan to destroy my credibility and weaken my publishing company as we head into one of the most important election cycles in the history of Harris County, Texas. In case you don’t remember, a couple weeks ago, another Harris County Democratic Party associate named Erik Manning (who happens to be a gay white male) launched what I consider to be an “ECONOMIC BOYCOTT” of my newspaper with the intent to diminish my support amongst Democrats. Why? Well, what a lot of you don’t know is that my newspaper, (HOUSTON BUSINESS CONNECTIONS NEWSPAPER), is one of the strongest advocates for “DULY-QUALIFIED CANDIDATES) who aspire to be public servants. That being said, using my newspaper, I have unseated a bunch of sitting incumbent politicians – perhaps more than any other publisher in this region of Texas combined. And above that, back in the 2018 Midterm Elections, my client base included (33) thirty-three Democrats, and about (26) twenty-six Republicans running for various offices in Texas.

Judge Erica Hughes Cares About Future Generations! On Monday, December 13, 2021, it would be very disappointing to see Judge Erica Hughes draw a primary challenger. As a matter of fact, there's absolutely no reason who any Democrat should challenge Judge Erica Hughes on "SUPER TUESDAY" in Harris County, Texas.

Why Should Any Local Democrat Want to Challenge a Fellow Duly-Qualified Democratic Judge on Super Tuesday?

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

I don’t see eye to eye with anyone on every issue. However, I am open-minded on most issues and get along pretty good with most people. Such is the case with Judge Erica Hughes, the presiding judge for Harris County Criminal Court at Law #3. When it comes to being tough – she on point! When it comes to being smart – she’s on point! When it comes to being prepared – she’s on point! When it comes to being compassionate – she’s on point! When it comes to being unbiased – she’s on point! When it comes to serving others she’s on point! When it comes to whether or not she should be given a second term in office – the resounding answer is YES!!! Why? Well, because she’s done a good job serving the people of Harris County, Texas.

SHE'S DOING A GOOD JOB

As the presiding judge for Harris County Criminal Court at Law #3, Judge Erica Hughes has done her best to be fair, and balanced with her rulings. For those of you who don’t know, this ‘Honorable Member of the Judiciary’ ran for judge back in the 2018 Midterms – not because she needed a job; but because she had seen first-hand how some judges were not administering fair and even-handed justice for all. According to what she told me back when she decided to run, “Some Judges seem close-minded and prejudiced towards defendants and attorneys. The disparity is made between individuals with low income and very little knowledge of their rights,” she said. You can also see the comments echoed on her campaign website. “The fairness is given to individuals based upon a financial status, connections, race, and other contributing factors that should not come into play in the judicial system,” she said back in 2018, prior to taking the bench. Her website also states that she believes that impartiality and an unfair justice system should not be tolerated in Harris County, Texas, or the United States,” and she’s right in my opinion. Judge Erica Hughes also stated on her website that she believes that the criminal justice system is a necessary and vital part of our society, but that it has lost its meaning and purposefulness behind unfair Judges that preside on the bench. Again these statements were made prior to Judge Hughes becoming the presiding judge for Harris County Criminal Court at Law #3. That being said is right. And if you’re looking for a judge who cares about “ALL PEOPLE” and who is working diligently to restore integrity and fairness, and as she applies the law equally, and equitably to everyone who enters her courtroom – you must cast your vote for Judge Erica Hughes on “SUPER TUESDAY” in the Democratic Party Primary for Harris County, Texas.

"Make no mistake about it, I went to our State Capital in Austin, Texas to share my thoughts on election fraud because I have clients on both sides of the political aisle who have been cheated in local Harris County, Texas elections over the years. I also went because as an American citizen I have a First Amendment United States Constitutionally Protected right to freely speak my mind. And for all of you who don't know, I am doubly protected by the First Amendment as a member of the press as well. So, if you don't like it, you can go straight to hell. But before you go, please understand that I plan to do everything humanly possible to fight for my Republican and Democratic clients in the 2022 Midterm Elections. Why? I plan to do so, because I believe that everyone running for office in the 2022 Midterm Election deserves a fair chance to win their respective political race without their opponent having an unfair advantage. So, for all of you Democrats out there who are planning to run for judge in the 2022 Democratic Party Primary, I strongly suggest that you do not try to unseat Judge Erica Hughes -- she's a lifelong Democrat who is doing a good job!"

The “Sisterhood Series” Features 70 Powerful Texas Women You Should Know Who Are Doing Their Own Thing

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

I would like to take this moment to introduce our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” to you. This empowerment movement is being launched to highlight a few powerful Texas women who are doing their own thing in legal, political, and public relations fields throughout the Lone Star State. Now, while this powerful group of women is being brought to you as a corporate body, our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” should not be misconstrued as identity/gender politics in any way, shape, or form. Why? Well, all of the featured women in this series are (in their own unique way) some of the best and brightest women in America. So, recognizing these women as part of our SISTERHOOD SERIES” is our way of applauding each of them for their courage, tenacity, and ability to compete in what has traditionally been a man’s world.

TRUTH OF THE MATTER

If we’re honest with ourselves, we all know that women are still fighting an uphill battle in politics as well as inside boardrooms across America. So, let's not forget – it wasn’t long ago that women were guaranteed the right to vote. In case you don’t know, the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote was only the beginning of a much longer fight that women are continuing to fight on the campaign trail, in board rooms, and while living their everyday lives.

A VERY UNIQUE BOND

Each segment of our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” will highlight a “FEATURED SPONSOR” on the cover, and sixty-nine sitting incumbent Democratic and Republican members of the judiciary inside. So, as a community of women, each of the sixty-nine women featured as the “BODY OF THE SERIES” are linked together by their common successes in the rough and tumble world of Texas politics. Now, you can bet your bottom dollar, that some of these women will be endorsed by Houston Business Connections Newspaper©, in 2022 and 2024 “ELECTION GUIDES” when they appear on the ballot. However, unfortunately, some of these women will not make the cut. So, please do not forget that the deadline to run for political office in the “2022 MIDTERM ELECTIONS” is on Monday, December 13, 2021, in Texas. And, if you are a woman or man who is planning to run for office in 2022, you must sign up by Monday, December 13, 2021, at 6:00 pm. So, if you are not sure, what position you should run for in the Democratic Party Primary or Republican Party Primary, please call (281)788-3033, and I will try to assist you in any way I can.

MINISTERS OF JUSTICE

Every judge in America takes an oath of office and solemnly swears that they will administer justice without respect to persons and that they will do equal right to the poor and to the rich alike. So, the “MINISTERS OF JUSTICE” you see listed below, have all promised to faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon them under the United States Constitution and the laws that govern us as a free nation when they were elected. And each of them did so before the LORD God Almighty. Now, that being said, nowhere in their promise was their political party affiliation, sorority, socio-economic status, or ethnicity mentioned. So, let’s do our best going forward, to elect the “BEST AND BRIGHTEST” women and men who are committed to handing out even-handed justice to every person who enters their courtroom.

Nominating the Wrong Candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" Could Have Disastrous Consequences in the November 2022 General Election in Harris County

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Make no mistake about it, who the people of Harris County, Texas choose to give another term to in 2022 must be about substance, job performance, judicial temperament, competence, and whether or not our members of the judiciary are following the law with their rulings. And that being said, in 2022, it is incumbent upon the voters of Harris County to evaluate the job performance of each and every sitting "ELECTED OFFICIAL" on a case-by-case basis and not as a group based on their political party affiliation, ethnicity, or gender.

THINKING ABOUT RUNNING?

If you are a candidate planning to run for office in 2022, you have to select the right candidate to run against. And the second most important thing to understand is that you have to select your race early, to avoid ending up in a crowded field of candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" in Harris County, Texas. So, if you need assistance trying to determine which race to enter, please call (281)788-3033, and I will do my very best to answer any questions you may have.
