"Lady justice has a blindfold on for a reason guys. Why is Lady Justice blindfolded? Well, she's blindfolded because everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. And because our judges are not supposed to legislate from the bench, or make rulings based on the ethnicity, socio-economic status, political associations, or gender of the people who come before them. After all, our judges are in many cases the last line of defense for people who are accused of crimes. That's why I was so happy when I saw Judge Amy Martin (center), the presiding judge for the 263rd Criminal District Court reject the attempt by the Harris County District Attorney's Office to get Democratic Political Consultant Damien Thaddeus Jones into felony court. But, my excitement was quickly met with dismay when I saw that Damien's case was transferred to Judge Genesis Draper's courtroom. I mean, there are (16) sixteen Harris County Criminal Court's At Law, and Damien's case just so happened to end up being placed in the courtroom of the only judge out of (16) sixteen that was appointed to the bench by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis? I mean -- really? Anyways, thank God for Judge Amy Martin!!! Gina Calanni is the former State Representative for House District 132. She's also the woman who Democratic Political Consultant Damien Thaddeus Jones supposedly threatened to harm the reputation of in the indictment you see below!
The language in the indictment against Damien Jones states, “The duly organized Grand Jury of Harris County, Texas, presents in District Court of Harris County, Texas, that in Harris County, Texas Damien Thaddeus Jones, hereafter styled the Defendant, heretofore on or about December 2, 2019, did then and there unlawfully, with the intent to defraud harm, make a call or engage in conduct using technology that resulted in the display on another person’s telecommunications devise of data that misrepresented the defendant’s telephone number, namely: the Defendant sent text message from the Defendant’s cell phone to the cell phone of the Complainant, Gina Calanni, using an app that temporarily disguised the Defendant’s cell phone number and the text message threatened to harm the reputation of the Complainant.

I am sure that many of you don't know that initially the Harris County District Attorney's Office tried to get Democratic political consultant Damien Jones into the 263rd District Court -- which is a felony court. However, thanks to Judge Amy Martin, who is a great judge, after reviewing the indictments against Damien Thaddeus Jones, she stated, "Upon review of the indictment delivered to this Court in the above-captioned cause, the Court finds that the offense alleged in that indictment is a misdemeanor which does not involve official misconduct or official oppression, and that the Court therefore lacks jurisdiction to conduct further proceedings in this case." This honorable judge, who also happens to be a Democrat, went on to say, "It is therefore ORDERED that the indictment presented to this Court in the above-captioned cause be transferred to a county criminal court at law pursuant to articles 21.26 and 21.28 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and assigned to a particular county criminal court at law under a new cause number in keeping with the local rules and general orders of the Harris County criminal courts."

Former Congressman Beto O'Rourke is to date the biggest client Damien Thaddeus Jones has ever landed in his young career as a political consultant. But Beto has nothing whatsoever to do with the indictments against Jones in any way, shape, or form.

Believe it or not, I’ve been watching this cat do his thing for some time now. And to be honest, I was starting to get a little impressed with what I’ve been seeing from him.

HARRIS COUNTY POLITICS IS BRUTAL
For all of you who don’t know, Damien Thaddeus Jones’ podcast (Damien Jones Podcast) reaches a diverse audience from all across America. And according to his website, he is regularly called upon as a keynote speaker and by the media for his innovative opinions on politics, popular culture, leadership, and social justice – I can attest to this. Like I said, I’ve been keeping a close eye on this cat for the better part of a year now. And over the years, Damien has been slowly and methodically moving up the ranks – seemingly all by himself. That’s what I like about what he’s been doing, but like with most of the young cats getting into the political game, he does not understand fully how this political game is being played. Now, that’s not to say that Damien Thaddeus Jones isn’t smart – that’s not at all what I’m saying. However, what I’m trying to say here, is that Damien Thaddeus Jones is ignorant; but not in literal terms. He’s ignorant, or should I say, he’s got a lot to learn about the inner-workings of Harris County, Texas politics. Now, that’s not to say that he’s not guilty of Coercion of a Public Servant and using a False Caller Identification Information Display to send an anonymous threat to then-State Rep. Gina Calanni in an attempt to coerce her into resigning her position as the state representative for House District 132 – as Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg alleges in her indictment. But rather, it is to say, that I am imploring everyone reading this report, to reserve judgment on Damien Thaddeus Jones until after he’s had a chance to defend himself in court.

Let me be clear here – Judge Genesis Draper was placed on the bench as judge of Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 12 by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, and Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia. However, she wasn’t Commissioner Ellis’ first choice to fill the voice left in the aftermath of Judge Cassandra Hollemon’s untimely death. Believe it or not, from the way I understand it, initially Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his cohorts were going to fill the vacancy with a Hispanic judge. Why didn’t they do it? Well, from the way that I understand it, the plan to fill the vacancy left by the untimely death of Judge Cassandra Hollemon (a Black woman) with a Hispanic female didn’t go over well with the sitting African American female judges who ran their races along with the late Judge Cassandra Hollemon as part of the “BLACK GIRL MAGIC” campaign. So, in essence, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, and Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia settled on Judge Genesis Draper. Thus far, I think Judge Genesis Draper has done a respectable job serving as a judge. However, the stakes are very high for the misdemeanor cases involving “WHISTLEBLOWER” Damien Thaddeus Jones that has somehow found their way into the one misdemeanor courtroom where the judge was appointed by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his cohorts. I say somehow because there are (16) sixteen misdemeanor county courts in Harris County, Texas – but somehow after not being able to get “WHISTLEBLOWER” Damien Thaddeus Jones on felony charges in Judge Amy Martin’s 263rd Criminal District Court – the cases found their way in Judge Genesis Draper’s court. Make no mistake about it, who the people of Harris County, Texas choose to give another term to in 2022 must be about substance, job performance, judicial temperament, competence, and whether or not our members of the judiciary are following the law with their rulings. And that being said, in 2022, it is incumbent upon the voters of Harris County to evaluate the job performance of each and every sitting "ELECTED OFFICIAL" on a case-by-case basis and not as a group based on their political party affiliation, ethnicity, or gender.
