Herstory Spotlights Featuring Modern-Day African American Trailblazing Women to Close Out Black History Month

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

In case you don’t know, the word “HERSTORY” was invented in the late 20th century to mean “HISTORY,” that’s not written by men, but rather by women. But that’s not it; the term “HERSTORY” is also intended to emphasize the role of women from a woman’s perspective. So as we pause to celebrate African American inventors and the impact their inventions have made on our lives, let’s not forget to celebrate our modern-day trailblazers as well. To this end, women like Dedra Davis, Judge for the 270th Civil District Court in Harris County and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, along with countless others will be spotlighted in the next edition of Houston Business Connections Newspaper©, scheduled to be released at the end of this month.
