Ellis Has $5,088,044.00, and Sheila Jackson Lee Has $1,033,982.58, But John Whitmire has $9,893,611.78

State Senator John Whitmire (right) is the "BIG DOG" on the block right now. In fact, Whitmire's "CAMPAIGN ACCOUNT" has $9,893,611.78, sitting in it. As for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, she only has $1,033,982.58, and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis has already made his max donation of $5,000.00 to the Sheila Jackson Lee for Houston Campaign. THE BEST CHOICE... As it stands right now, Gilbert Garcia, the former METRO Chairman has watched his campaign get relegated to the trash heap and should drop out of the race before he embarrasses himself. That being said, the pollsters, pundits, pragmatists, strategists, analysts, and political types have it right, Sheila Jackson Lee and John Whitmire are indeed the "TOP TWO CONTENDERS" and of the two, Senator John Whitmire is the best choice for our Democrat, Republican, Independent, and Libertarian voters to consider, if their choice is between Sheila and John on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in our beloved Bayou City. Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis is living 'high on the hog' with $5,088,044.00 sitting in his "CAMPAIGN BANK ACCOUNT" according to his 7/17/2023 filing under penalty of perjury. Based on Ellis's report, the only local campaign that he did anything significant for was the Sheila for Houston Campaign, to which he gave $5,000.00, according to his recently filed report. Commissioner Rodney Ellis still hasn't donated a dime to any of the local Democrat judges who are struggling to raise money. You can "CLICK HERE" to see for yourself.

Ellis Has $5,088,044.00, and Sheila Jackson Lee Has $1,033,982.58, But State Senator John Whitmire is the Big Dog on the Block

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

The polls are correct, after doing some soul-searching over the weekend and combing through past canvass reports for the City of Houston Mayoral Elections, I have to agree with the pollsters. The race to succeed Mayor Sylvester Turner as the next mayor for the City of Houston has come down to two people – Senator John Whitmire and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, from what I can see.

As for Gilbert Garcia, the former METRO Chairman – he’s TRASH! In my opinion, Garcia has absolutely no business even being mentioned in the same breath as John Whitmire, and Sheila Jackson Lee, as contenders. Why not? Well, because he is ignorant, egotistical, and from what I’ve been told, he won’t listen to advice from anyone. In other words, he’s a fool and should get out of the way, and let the “BIG DOGS” between now and Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

“THE BIG DOGS.”

According to his recently filed “CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” that was filed July 17, 2023, and covers 1/1/2023 through 6/30/2023, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, only gave significant money to two candidates, while “LOCAL BLACK JUDGES” has been hung out to dry.

Can you guess which two candidates Harris Commissioner Rodney Ellis donated money to out of his $5,088,044.00, campaign war chest? Oh, and yes, that’s over five million dollars, Ellis has sitting in his campaign account right now. That being said, Commissioner Rodney Ellis isn’t the “BIG DOG” on the block

When you get right down to it, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis’ campaign war chest which totals more than $5,088,044.00, can’t be used to help Sheila Jackson Lee defeat State Senator John Whitmire on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the race for Mayor. Why not? Well, the limit that individuals can give to candidates running for office in the upcoming Tuesday, November 7, 2023, City of Houston Mayoral Election is capped at $5,000.00, and the limit that Political Action Committees (PACs) can donate is only $10,000 to each candidate.

All things being equal, as it stands right now, State Senator John Whitmire is the “BIG DOG” on the block, and has a lot more according to his “CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” than Commissioner Rodney Ellis ($5,088,044.00), and Sheila Jackson Lee for Houston ($1,033,982.58), combined, according to their recently filed campaign finance reports.

In case you don’t know, State Senator John Whitmire currently has ($9,893,611.78), which is nine times more than what Sheila Jackson Lee for Houston, has in her war chest right now.

So, truth be told, State Senator John Whitmire is a “PITBULL” who has ($9,893,611.78), and Sheila Jackson Lee is a “CHIHUAHUA” with her ($1,033,982.58), in the bank.

“OVER IN CHICAGO.”

Back on 3/8/2023, Friends of Brandon Johnson received a $5,000.00 donation from Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis. And in case you don’t know, Brandon Johnson is now the new Mayor of Chicago, after he went to defeat former Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who only placed third, in the general election, and also went on to defeat Paul Vallas in a bitter runoff election.

What you have to remember about Brandon Johnson’s win over Vallas in the runoff election, is that Paul Vallas was the candidate who had the backing of the Democratic establishment, and Republicans, and still got defeated by the more progressive Brandon Johnson, who is the new mayor of Chicago.

“HERE IN HOUSTON.

Back on 4/6/2023, The Sheila Jackson Lee for Houston Campaign received a $5,000.00 donation from Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, which is the max he could donate to her campaign. Now, just like Commissioner Rodney Ellis, placed his money on Brandon Johnson, earlier this year in the race for Mayor of Chicago, even though he wasn’t backed by establishment Democrats, he’s doing the same in the upcoming Tuesday, November 7, 2023, City of Houston Mayor Election.

Right now, most pollsters, pundits, pragmatists, strategists, analysts, and political types are talking about the upcoming Tuesday, November 7, 2023, City of Houston Mayoral Election going to a runoff. However, what they don’t understand is that Sheila, Rodney, and Sylvester, are playing for keeps, and are looking to win the “2023 MAYORAL ELECTION” outright in the first round.

In other words, Sheila Jackson Lee is planning to win more than 50% of the vote on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, which would negate the need for a runoff. And if you ask me, Senator John Whitmire, the current front-runner is playing right into their hands.

“OVERCONFIDENCE.”

State Senator John Whitmire, and other candidates running for public office on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, must resist the temptation to believe the pollsters and expand their reach by utilizing “THE BLACK PRESS” to implore African Americans to support their candidacy.

Overconfidence is a ‘killer’ and could be deadly for “BIG DOGS” like State Senator John Whitmire if they wrongly assume that African Americans are going to turn out for Sheila Jackson Lee just because she happens to be a Black woman.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis haven’t done anything measurable for “BLACK BUSINESSES” or the “BLACK COMMUNITY” over the course of a combined 70 years in public office.

What many of the pollsters, pundits, pragmatists, strategists, analysts, and political-types and are forgetting when it comes to Sheila Jackson Lee, is that, back in 1989, she won an “AT-LARGE POSITION” on the Houston City Council, and served in the position until 1994. Prior to that she served as a Texas Municipal Judge from 1987 to 1990.

“TWO SELFISH-DOGS.”

In the “DOG EAT DOG WORLD” of Harris County, Texas politics, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee are two of the most “SELFISH-GOGS” on the block. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Remember, I told you that Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis has $5,088,044.00, sitting in his “CAMPAIGN BANK ACCOUNT” right now, and Sheila Jackson Lee has $1,033,982.58, in her “CAMPAIGN BANK ACCOUNT” at this time.

“SERIOUS QUESTION.”

If Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee are so concerned about the well-being of “BLACK PEOPLE” why aren’t they supporting “BLACK NEWSPAPERS” and donating money to the “CAMPAIGN ACCOUNTS” of “BLACK JUDGES” in Harris County, Texas, who could very well be swept from local benches during the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election cycle?

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”

The time has come for African American voters, in Harris County, Texas to demand better from public servants from both sides of the political aisle. But more importantly, a demand must be placed on “BLACK ELECTED OFFICIALS” to put their money where their mouth is, when it comes to Black folks.
