EXCLUSIVE: Commissioner Rodney Ellis Continues to Enrich Himself While Other Down-Ballot Democrats Face Uncertain Futures

Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis got in serious hot water when he was a sitting member of the Texas Senate, and his Republican colleagues discovered that $500,000.00 had vanished from his campaign finance report. THE EXPLAINATION... Rodney told his colleagues that he had lost the $500,000.00 playing the Stock Market but had gained the money back. As the Harris County Commissioner for Precinct One, Rodney Ellis has increased his daily wagers in "THE STOCK MARKET" exponentially. Between 1/1/2024 and 6/30/2024, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis used $1,124,475.00 from his campaign account to roll the New York Stock Exchange dice. You can "CLICK HERE" to verify the evidence we've collected.

Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis played several Black newspaper publishers for fools on Thursday, May 30, 2024, when he invited them to his office. Based on his 7/15/2024 campaign finance report, he still hasn't spent any of his $6,239,978.00 with the Houston Defender (owned by Sonceria Messiah Jiles), the Houston Style Magazine (owned by Francis Page, Jr.) or the D-Mars Business Journal (owned by Keith Davis) after they allowed him to blow smoke up their tails. While Commissioner Rodney Ellis hasn't spent any of his $6 million cash on hand with Black-owned media outlets and only spent a measly $1,500.00 with the Harris County Democratic Party (HCDP), he did take $1,124,476 from his campaign account to play it in the Stock Market.

"EXPOSING ELLIS."

It is very disappointing to uncover that Commissioner Rodney Ellis only gave the Harris County Democratic Party a measly $1,500.00 when he has more than $6 million in the bank, while local Democratic Judges are using their hard-earned donations to fund the party they love.

Commissioner Rodney Ellis used $260,887.00 of his campaign funds to purchase 19,001 shares of Blackrock Global Equity Funds back on 5/3/2024, based on his 7/15/2025 campaign filing.

Below, I have gone into Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s campaign finance report and pulled out a few of his transactions totaling more than $10,000.00 each to help you better understand how he uses his campaign money to play the New York Stock Exchange. You can "CLICK HERE" to see a list of all of the transactions made by Commissioner Ellis using his campaign funds between 1/1/2024 and 6/30/2024, which were listed on his campaign finance report.

What am I talking about?

While Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis only gave the Democratic Party $1,500.00 between 1/1/2024 and 6/30/2024, he’s been getting up daily and using his campaign funds to play the stock market, and I can prove it.

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "Early voting will begin on Monday, October 21, 2024, and end on Friday, November 1, 2024, for the upcoming Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Presidential Election. It is incumbent upon us to make it our business to select the best candidate available in every down-ballot race."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

When Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis was a member of the Texas Senate, his Republican colleagues discovered that around $500,000.00 had vanished from his campaign finance report. According to published reports, Ellis told his Republican colleagues that he had lost the $500,000.00 playing the Stock Market but had earned all the money back. They took his word for it and let the matter go.

My investigative team and I have just finished reviewing Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s most recent campaign report filing and have discovered that he’s still up to his old tricks.

We discovered that between 1/1/2024 and 6/30/2024, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis took $1,124,475.00 from his campaign account and used it to play around in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). At the same time, his constituents suffer, and his fellow down-ballot Democrats struggle to raise much-needed funds to run competitive campaigns.

“EXPOSING RODNEY ELLIS.”

I’m not going to sit by quietly and allow Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his buddies to play “MY PEOPLE” for fools between now and Tuesday, November 5, 2024, while they enrich themselves and leave local down-ballot Democrats hanging out to dry.

Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and other so-called Black leaders have been playing the “BLACK COMMUNITY” for fools for decades, and the time has come for them to be exposed.

And I’m not dogging Democrats with this report.

What I am doing is trying to enlighten people who are being kept in the dark by charlatans who don’t have the interests of “THE BLACK COMMUNITY” in their hearts.

A few months ago, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 5:01 PM, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis convened a meeting at his office with a couple of local Black newspaper publishers he labeled “THE BLACK PRESS” to blow smoke up their assess – and they all fell for it hook line and sinker.

Sonceria Messiah Jiles, the owner of the Houston Defender, Keith “MR. D-MARS” Davis Sr., the owner of the D-Mars Business Journal, and Francis Page, Jr., the owner of Style Magazine, are three idiots I’m referring to today.

After Sonceria Messiah Jiles, Mr. D-Mars, and Francis Page allowed Commissioner Ellis to blow smoke up their rear ends, he still hasn’t compensated them for their time.

All Commissioner Rodney Ellis did for them was make a statement about the three newspaper publishers on FACEBOOK, which said, “The black press has been a beacon of truth, resilience, and advocacy for generations in a world where information is power.”

He continued to blow smoke up their tails by stating, “From chronicling the triumphs and struggles of our communities to holding institutions accountable.”

“I was extremely grateful to meet with members of Houston’s Black press and discuss a wide range of issues,” Commissioner Rodney Ellis proclaimed.

Did you notice that Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis didn’t even respect Sonny, Francis, and Keith enough to mention them by name?

In addition to not giving the three publishers their do, Commissioner Rodney Ellis has $6,239,978.00 in his campaign account, and he hasn’t placed one paid advertisement in the Houston Defender, Style Magazine, or the D-Mars Business Journal after these three newspaper publishers allowed him to use them for a photo-op.

In the comment section of the Thursday, May 30, 2024, FACEBOOK post, someone named Marc Alexander Lacey called Commissioner Rodney Ellis out by stating, “You’ve been selling out the black community so you can get paid for it, for a very long time.”

Marc Alexander Lacey stated, “Everyone is going to turn on you when they find out you’ve been our enemy for a very long time.”

“Keep smiling to the faces you’re selling out until then,” he stated.

“THE PUPPET MASTER.”

I’ve just discovered some alarming findings while reviewing the campaign finance reports filed on 1/15/2024 by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis.

Review the “Purchase of Investments from Political Contributions” submitted by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis under penalty of perjury on 7/15/2024. You will quickly see that Ellis cares more about using his campaign funds to play the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) than he does supporting the Harris County Democratic Party (HCDP) or helping his fellow Democrats win their reelection bids on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The most disturbing thing I found while combing over Commissioner Rodney Ellis’ Campaign finance reports is that he has $6,239,978.00 inside his campaign bank account but only donated $1,500.00 to the Harris County Democratic Party (HCDP) between 1/1/2024 and 6/30/2024, the end of the filing period.

Below, I have gone into Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s campaign finance report and pulled out his transactions totaling more than $10,000.00 to give you a better idea of how he uses his campaign money to play the New York Stock Exchange.

What am I talking about?

While Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis only gave the Democratic Party $1,500.00 between 1/1/2024 and 6/30/2024, he’s been getting up daily and using his campaign funds to play the stock market, and I can prove it.

On 4/24/2024, Commissioner Rodney Ellis purchased 159 BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings, Inc. shares for $11,988.00 using money donated to his campaign.

Based on my calculations, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis took $1,124,475.00 of his campaign funds and played with it in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) between 1/1/2024 and 6/30/2024, while many of his fellow down-ballot Democratic nominees are facing uncertain futures.

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”

My review of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s campaign finance report, dated 7/15/2024, reveals that he doesn’t care about the Harris County Democratic Party (HCDP) or his fellow down-ballot Democratic nominees. If he did, he would have donated more than $1,500.00 of the $6,239,978.00 he currently has in the bank to help turn out the Democratic Party vote in Harris County, Texas.

If Commissioner Ellis cared anything about his fellow Democrats, he would have chipped in some money to help them (Melissa Noriega and Pelumi Adeleke) run stronger races on Saturday, June 15, 2024, when they both lost to their Republican opponents (Kyle Scott and Ericka McCrutcheon) in the Harris Central Appraisal District, runoff elections.

In closing, down-ballot incumbent Democrats must compel the Harris County Democratic Party Chairman (Mike Doyle) to show them a “PLAN OF ACTION” before they get swept out of office on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the most consequential “PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION” of our lifetime.
