No Judicial Bench Will Be Safe in the Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Democratic Party Primary for Harris County, Texas

Prior to the 2016 Presidential Election in Harris County, Texas, it was unheard of to have an African American "DEMOCRAT" presiding over a local courtroom. Fast forward to today, in four pivotal election cycles, African Americans went from holding no judicial benches to claiming 41 of 81 local benches in Harris County, Texas. How was this done, in such a short timeframe? After all, African Americans only make up about 18.5% of the total population in Harris County, Texas according to the most recent census data!!! Did you even know that "AFRICAN AMERICAN JUDGES" hold over 50% of the local judicial benches? African-American judges in Harris County, Texas, could be vulnerable in 2024 if they don't get their act together, and start raising some serious campaign cash.

Please don't forget that Judge Jason Luong, Juong, Judge Scot "dolli" Dollinger, Judge Abigail Anastasio, Judge Amy Martin, Judge Barbara "Babs" Stalder, Judge Tristan Harris Longino, Judge Chuck Silverman, Judge Clinton "Chip" Wells, Judge David L. Singer, Judge Franklin Bynum, Judge Greg Glass, and Judge Michael Newman all "LOST THEIR BENCHES TO FELLOW DEMOCRATS" during the 2022 Midterm Primary season. Will Democrats take out each other on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the Democratic Party Primary for Harris County, Texas?

Mike Doyle, the new Harris County Democratic Party chairman took over a Democratic Party that had been run into the ground by his predecessor, Odus Evbagharu, in less than a year. Now, Doyle is left with a slate of incumbent judges who don't have little money in their campaign coffers and won't be able to even support his "COORDINATED CAMPAIGN" if they don't get off their tails and start raising some money over the course of the next few months. You can "CLICK HERE" to take a look at Harris County Democratic Party "CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT" and see what I'm talking about for yourself.

No Judicial Bench Will Be Safe in the Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Democratic Party Primary for Harris County, Texas

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Are we about to see another highly-contested Democratic Party Primary season like the one we witnessed in the 2022 Midterm Election? Remember, Judge Chuck Silverman, Judge Abigail Anastasio, Judge Jason Luong, Judge Scot "dolli" Dollinger, Judge Greg Glass, Judge Amy Martin, Judge Tristan Harris Longino, Judge Barbara "Babs" Stalder, Judge Clinton "Chip" Wells, Judge Franklin Bynum, Judge David L. Singer, and Judge Michael Newman all lost their benches to fellow Democrats during the primary season.

The Harris County Democratic Party (HCDP) must take a serious introspective look at the way they're going to play the political game in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election cycle, especially in light of the recent indictments that have been levied against former President Donald J. Trump, throughout the last few months.

If you zoom in on what’s unfolding, Democrats are making former President Donald J. Trump, more powerful, by piling on all of the indictments. What Democrats have done is turn Trump into a sympathetic figure – even a victim. And they don’t even realize that they’re fueling and feeding the frenzy that’s swirling around his campaign.

“A BIG MISTAKE.”

In my opinion, Democrats are making Donald J. Trump a “BIGGER STAR” than he already was, and in the process, they’re turning the upcoming “2024 PRESIDENTIAL CYCLE” into one big reality TV series.

What Democrats on the national stage are not factoring into their equation is the fact that they’re dealing with a man (Donald J. Trump), who is an expert when it comes to branding and marketing. And what he’s doing right now, is using their efforts to destroy him, against them.

Do you remember “THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE” and how NBC cut ties with Trump after he made comments about Mexican immigrants when he launched his bid for the presidency the first time around? How did that turn out? He kept right on talking, and eventually captured and defeated Hilary Clinton in the 2016 race for the White House – right?

And how did firing Donald Trump work out for NBC after they tried to substitute him with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Celebrity Apprentice? Remember, the mainstream media really tried to help Schwarzenegger, but his first show only produced 4.95 million live viewers, with a 1.3 rating in the age group of 18-to-49-year-olds.

Comparatively speaking, in Donald Trump’s last season of “THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE” it was launched with 6.31 million views and an astonishing 2.4 rating with people in the 18-to-49-year-old age range.

“WRONG STRATEGY.”

In case you haven’t noticed, the Manhattan District Attorney (Alvin L. Bragg, Jr.) who brought the 34-Count Felony County indictment against former President Donald Trump, is an African-American Democrat, out of New York.

The New York Attorney General by the name of Letitia “Tish” James, filed a $250 million civil fraud lawsuit against the former president accusing him of committing an array of financial fraud crimes over 10 years.

What about the Fulton County District Attorney (Fani Willis) who is an African-American Democrat who could bring an indictment against former President Donald Trump soon?

And just recently, U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, who has been identified as a Black woman with Asian ancestry was ‘randomly’ selected to preside over Trump’s trial, that’s related to his ‘alleged’ involvement in the events that occurred on Jan. 6 at the U.S. Capitol.

“VERY BAD OPTICS.”

If you take a moment to look at things from a branding perspective, no matter what happens with former President Donald Trump’s legal woes, the optics couldn’t be worse for Black judges sitting on benches in Harris County, Texas heading into the 2024 Presidential Election cycle.

We currently have 81 coveted potential judicial benches available in Harris County, Texas. And of the 81 judicial benches, an astonishing 41 of them are occupied by African-American (Democrat) judges right now. How did this remarkable coupe of local judicial benches happen in a span of only four “MAJOR ELECTION” cycles, when African Americans only make up 18.5% of the population in Harris County, Texas?

According to the most recent census data, the White (Non-Hispanic) population in Harris County sits at (29%), the White (Hispanic) population sits at (28%), the Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) population sits at (18.5%), the Other (Hispanic) population sits at (8.86%), and the Asian (Non-Hispanic) population sits at (6.99%), right now.

No matter how you flip the coin, Hispanics are grossly underrepresented, and African Americans are grossly overrepresented based on the percent of population measurables. That being said, something must be given, as Hispanics have become the largest racial/ethnic group in Harris County, Texas.

When you get right down to it, Hispanics are the largest racial/ethnic group in Harris County, Texas, and makeup about (43.6%) of the overall population. Whites make up about (28.3%) of the overall population, and Blacks only make up about (18.5%) of the population, according to figures that I’ve been studying.

If the Harris County Democratic Party doesn’t make some serious adjustments in the upcoming Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Democratic Party Primary, they’re going to face some serious challenges next November. Why? Well, the honest to God’s truth, is there are too many (Democrat) African American judges on the Democrat side, which means that over the next two political seasons, a shift is about to occur in Harris County, Texas.

How do I know, that a shift is about to occur? Well, if you look at the voting patterns from the recent Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Midterm Election, the fact that the only Democrat judicial candidates lost is proof positive that a shift is on the way.

Democrats are going to face serious challenges if the Harris County Republican Party (HCRP), wakes up to diversify their “2024 FIELD OF JUDICIAL NOMINEES” with a few more African Americans, and a solid group of duly-qualified Latino judicial candidates to go along with the “HIGHLY-QUALIFIED” group of candidates they’ve fielded in past elections.

“CIVIL BENCHES.”

There are 24 Civil District Court benches in Harris County, Texas, and (Democrat) African American judges currently occupy 10 of the Civil District Court benches right now – which means, nearly half of the available Civil District Court benches available, are currently being occupied by African American judges.

“CRIMINAL BENCHES.”

There are 23 Criminal District Court benches in Harris County, Texas, and (Democrat) African American judges currently occupy 11 of the Criminal District Court benches right now – which means, nearly half of the available Criminal District Court benches available, are currently being occupied by African American judges.

“FAMILY BENCHES.”

There are 11 Family District Court benches in Harris County, Texas, and (Democrat) African American judges currently occupy 6 of the Family District Court benches – which means, that over half of the available Family District Court benches available, are currently being occupied by African American judges.

“JUVENILE BENCHES.”

There are only 3 Juvenile District Court benches in Harris County, Texas, and Judge Michelle Moore, a (Democrat) African American judge currently occupies one of the benches. The other two benches are occupied by Judge Natalia Cokinos Oakes and Judge Leah Shapiro, who are both Democrats.

“CIVIL AT LAW.”

There are only 4 County Civil Court at Law benches in Harris County, Texas, and (Democrat) African American judges currently occupy two of the benches right now – which means, half of the available County Civil Court at Law benches, are currently being occupied by African American judges.

“CRIMINAL AT LAW.”

There are only 16 County Criminal Courts at Law benches in Harris County, Texas, and (Democrat) African American judges currently occupy 7 of the County Criminal Court at Law benches – which means, nearly half of the available County Criminal Court at Law benches, are currently being occupied by African American judges.

“COUNTY PROBATE.”

There are only 4 Probate Courts in Harris County, Texas. As it stands right now, no African-American judges are occupying any of the probate benches. Judge Jerry Simoneaux, Judge Pamela Medina, Judge Jason Cox, and Judge James Horwitz, all Democrats, are currently occupying the probate court benches.

“JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.”

There are only 16 Justice of the Peace Courts in Harris County, Texas, and (Democrat) African American JP’s currently occupy 4 of the Justice of the Peace benches right now – which means, a fourth of the available Justice of the Peace benches, are currently being occupied by African American judges.

“2024 OUTLOOK.”

If the Harris County Democratic Party does not shift away from “IDENTITY POLITICS” and their experiment with African American judges prior to the upcoming Monday, December 11, 2023, filing deadline they’re going to be in for a rude awakening at the ballot box on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the Presidential Election.

That being said, they only have a couple African American male judges amongst their ranks, so Mike Doyle, the chairman of the Harris County Democratic Party can’t afford to have Judge Joe Stephens (Harris County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, Place 1), Judge Darrell Jordan (Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 16), or Judge Richard Johnson (177th Criminal District Court), to get unseated in the Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Democratic Party Primary.

And as for Judge DaSean Jones who currently presides over the 180th Criminal District Court, he is currently being sued to overturn his 2022 Midterm Election victory. However, Judge DaSean Jones is running for the Texas Supreme Court, Place 2, bench; but he does not have to give up his current bench to do so.

As it stands right now, the best pathway forward for Democrats is for them to find a way to recruit more duly-qualified Hispanic, and wealth White judicial candidates who can afford to pump some much-needed cash into the party’s Coordinated Judicial Campaign going forward.

Looking ahead, if Democrats don’t shift their strategy away from symbolism, expect Republicans to put on a dominant showing in 2024 and turn Harris County, Texas from light purple to deep purple, and maybe even solid red.

God Bless America.
