Text Message Spooked Isabel Longoria Into Telling the Public About the 10,000 Unreported Absentee Mail Ballots

On Friday, March 4, 2022, at about 11:45pm one of my sources informed me that there were 10,000 absentee mail-ballots that were not counted on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. I waited until Saturday, March 5, 2022, to see if Isabel Longoria, the Harris County Elections Administrator was going to inform the general public about the unreported 10,072 absentee mail ballots. That being said, after the general public was not made aware of the problem, in the spirit of public interest, at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 5, 2022, my team and I began sending out "TEXT ALERTS" to inform my readers that I would be addressing an issue related to mail ballots on Monday, March 7, 2022.

The screenshot above shows exactly what the "TEXT ALERTS" my team and I started sending out at 12:00PM on Saturday, March 5, 2022, looked like. This particular text message was sent out to well over 100,000 readers of the Houston Business Connections Newspaper©, across the state of Texas, and beyond.

Here's A Timeline of What Happened Leading Up to Isabel Longoria Getting Spooked into Telling The Public About the 10,072 Mail Ballots

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Isabel Longoria, the Harris County Elections Administrator, and her team failed to get the votes counted, as candidates and the general public awaited the results.

Wednesday, March 2, 2022, according to public reports, Isabel Longoria, the Harris County Elections Administrator notified the Texas Secretary of State that Harris County would not meet the 24-hour "STATUTORY DEADLINE" for reporting election results. Note: Texas has 254 counties, and Harris County, was the only county that did not meet the deadline.

Thursday, March 3, 2022, Isabel Longoria, the Harris County Elections Administrator, after being sued by the Harris County Republican Party, completed the count.

Friday, March 4, 2022, according to published reports, Isabel Longoria, the Harris County Elections Administrator was informed by the Texas Secretary of State that there was a 10,072 mail-ballot discrepancy.

Also, on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 11:45pm, a tipster notified Aubrey R. Taylor Communications, the publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper© about the 10,072 absentee mail-ballot discrepancy.

Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 12:00 noon, Aubrey R. Taylor Communications, the publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper© began sending out "TEXT ALERTS" to inform our readers that we would be addressing an issue related to mail ballots on Monday, March 7, 2022.

Also, on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 10:04pm, a reporter for the Houston Chronicle by the name of Jasper Scherer sent out a tweet stating, "Just in: @HarrisVotes says about 10K mail ballots (6K Dem, 4K GOP) were "not added into the original Election county" due to an oversight.

Harris County Concealed Missing Votes for Over 48 Hours

by Bill King

The last thing we needed right now was a grossly incompetently run election and elected officials then dissembling about what happened. But that is exactly what we got from the Harris County over the last week regarding last Tuesday’s primary elections. In the fifty years that I have been working in and following local elections, I have never seen anything that would vaguely reach the level of dysfunction in this election. The series of missteps will only further serve to undermine the public’s confidence in our elections.

First, let me say at the outset that I am not suggesting there was any intentional election fraud by anyone at the County, or anyone else for that matter. From everything I have heard the snafus affected both parties’ primaries. I think this in an application of my version of Hanlon’s razor: “Never attribute a government screw-up to corruption or conspiracy that can be explained by sloth and incompetence.”

Second, anyone who is blaming what happened in Harris County on SB1 is engaging pure partisan trope. The reason we know that is because Harris County was the only county out of Texas’ 254 counties that experienced this kind of debacle in Tuesday's election.

There were early signs of trouble. Only a few days before the election, the director of training was fired. Then there were multiple reports that precinct judges were waiting for hours to pick up their equipment and supplies. Many judges reported that when they got to their precinct locations they discovered they did not have all the equipment, it was not working and/or that supplies, primarily ballot paper, were missing from their packages. It just doesn’t seem that hard to me to create a checklist of everything that should be in the package.

As election day wore on, there were complaints from all over the County about long lines and equipment problems. A friend from Kingwood told me that the line was over an hour and a half long.

Then the count started. And people waited and waited and waited for results. The following day, there was still no final count and Harris County notified the Secretary of State it would not meet the statutory required 24-hour deadline to report results. By the way, that requirement has been in place for decades and has very rarely been missed. None of the other 253 counties were late.

If that would have been the end of it, I suspect everyone would have written it off as another instance bureaucratic inefficiency and moved on. But just before 10 pm on Saturday night, the County issued a press release that disclosed, for the first time, that about 10,000 mail-in ballots had not been included in their preliminary final results. Of course, the mere fact that the County waited until 10 pm on a Saturday to announce this blockbuster news is obviously suspicious. But it gets worse.

In Sam Kelly’s Chronicle story about the missing votes, he reported that the Secretary of State’s Office notified the County of the discrepancy on Friday. However, the County's election reconciliation report was completed on Thursday and it clearly shows that 10,072 votes were missing, with the notation “further investigation needed.” In other words, the County knew about the missing votes for well over 48 hours before it was made public.

What makes this even more chilling is that this is the first election where filing a reconciliation report was required per SB1. Had that new provision in SB1 not been in place, would we have ever known that 10,000 votes did not get counted? If the Secretary of State not inquired about the discrepancy would Harris County have ever disclosed that 10,000 votes were not counted? Would they have ever been counted? Has this ever happened in any previous election when there was no requirement to file a reconciliation report with the State?

Of course, Isabel Longoria, Harris County’s Election Administrator, has now fallen on her sword and resigned and the County is anxious to close the book on this fiasco. But that should not be the end of this.

First, we need to know exactly what caused the 10,000 votes to not be counted to be sure that never occurs again. Second, we need to know exactly why the information about the missing votes was concealed for over 48 hours. And most importantly, who was involved in keeping that secret for two days and then deciding to drop that news at 10:00 on a Saturday night.

Of course, this debacle should hardly be surprising. The County purged almost everyone who worked on previous elections simply because they had worked from a Republican office holder. As result, there are very few at the County who have any experience in actually running an election.

Also, Longoria had zero election administration experience when she was appointed. Rather, much like the one-person firm awarded the now infamous $11 million vaccine contract, her credentials primarily consisted of serving as a Democratic political operative and staffer.

When Lina Hidalgo was elected, she promised a new era of ethics and competence in County government. She pledged that appointments and contracts would be awarded on the basis of merit, not as political patronage. However, it is increasingly apparent that she either she never meant that, or she has been corrupted by being in office. Either way, Harris County residents are paying the price.

Official 2022 Primary Runoff Matchups for Democrats, Republicans to Consider on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in Harris County, Texas

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Something very bad happened in Harris County, Texas, back during the Democratic and Republican primaries. Did you hear me? I said that something very bad happened in Harris County, during the Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Democratic and Republican Primaries. That being said, we can't continue to head down the road we're traveling right now. Listen...we can't do anything in this world without proper identification. Nobody can even drive to the polls to cast a vote without a driver's license. Nor can anyone reading this report go out and buy a house, or rent an apartment without some type of legitimate identification. Nor can anyone reading this report open up a bank account or cash a check at the local corner store without proper identification. So, why on earth should we be allowing anyone to vote without presenting proper identification??? Listen!!! All this talk about voter suppression is a bunch of B.S. if you ask me. At the end of the day, confidence in our elections must be restored. And all of that being said, "VOTER INTEGRITY" should not be a partisan issue. Why? Well, every Democrat and Republican featured in this report deserves a right to know that their opponent is running a clean race.

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "Now is the time when our love for America must prevail. It is incumbent upon us to elect "PUBLIC SERVANTS" who understand that they work for us. We need "ELECTED OFFICIALS" in office who love "OUR CONSTITUTION" and the ideals that our nation was founded upon by our forefathers. We must make it our collective effort to "PUT PEOPLE OVER POLITICS" and do what's best for America during this crucial moment in time."

Favoritism and Party Politics Have No Place Inside Our Harris County Courtrooms

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

At the end of the day, the judicial races are the most important races on the ballot. That said, who we allow to put on that black robe and occupy judicial benches (especially in Harris County, Texas) matters a great deal. Over the years, through straight-ticket voting, and folks going into the polls playing "Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe" we've allowed a few bad folks to slip through the cracks. Now, I'm not trying to play party politics in any way, shape, or form, with my words. All I'm trying to say is that nobody is perfect, but if we make it our goal to elevate people who fear God and have a backbone into positions of authority, every one of us will be afforded the opportunity to live our best life.
