Judge Jim Kovach, Several Other Local Democratic Judges Stepped in to Help Families Affected by Winter Storm Uri

Natural disasters don’t discriminate. Listen, Natural Disasters like Winter Storm Uri that just swept through Texas don’t care about political affiliations, socio-economic statuses, or any of the other stuff that sometimes has a way of pitting Americans against one another during election years. Nope, when people are in serious need after a natural disaster, good people set politics aside, come together, join hands, and get to work. That being said, I would like to thank the folks over at Pride Houston for springing into action on Sunday, February 21, 2021. I would also like to thank Judge Jim Kovach, Judge Shannon Baldwin, Judge Jason Cox, Judge Beau Miller, and Judge Jerry Simoneaux for partnering with Pride Houston in their effort to help local families affected by Winter Storm Uri. Oh, in case you don’t know, Judge Jim Kovach is the presiding judge for Harris County Civil Court at Law No. 2. Judge Shannon Baldwin is the presiding Judge for Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 4. Judge Jason Cox is the presiding judge for Harris County Probate Court No. 3. And Judge Jerry Simoneaux is the presiding judge for Harris County Probate Court No. 1. Now, that being said, there was nothing political about this humanitarian effort. But don't take my word for it, below are a few highlights that were captured by Donte' Elliott, a local photographer who covered the event for Houston Business Connections Newspaper© to highlight these hardworking local judges.
