Natalia Cornelio and Judge Powell Will Draw for their Place on the March Ballot at the Democratic Party Headquarters at 10:00 am

Attorney Natalia "Nata" Cornelio and Judge George Powell will draw for their position on the ballot in the race for Judge, 351st Criminal District Court on Friday, January 10, 2020, at 10:00a.m. The drawing will take place at the Harris County Democratic Party headquarters located at 4619 Lyons Ave, Houston, Texas 77020. On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, these two Democrats will face off to see which one of them will do battle against Arlene Hecht on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in the general election. Hecht is running unopposed in the Republican Primary.

Judge George Powell Won Round One, Now He must Defeat Natalia “Nata” Cornelio in the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic Primary; Arlene Hecht Awaits the Democratic Nominee

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

After winning his battle against the Harris County Democratic Party to have his name placed on the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic ballot in “ROUND ONE” of his re-election bid, “ROUND TWO” will be even more difficult for Judge George Powell, the presiding judge for the 351st Criminal District Court in Harris County, Texas. It’s rumored that Natalia “Nata” Cornelio is someone who was hand-picked by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis to take out Judge George Powell. Whether this is true or not, depends on which side you believe. Commissioner Ellis’ camp says that the rumors aren’t true. However, in open court, Kent Schaffer, who is a partner in Schaffer Carter & Associates in Houston, Texas and the lead attorney for Judge George Powell, claimed, that he believes Commissioner Rodney Ellis is the one who was pulling strings in the Harris County Democratic Party. After the hearing, Schaffer dug in deeper saying that Commissioner Ellis wanted his employee to run unopposed in the primary for the 351st state judicial district court in the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic Primary. A claim that Commissioner Ellis’ camp has denied. Even still, Commissioner Rodney Ellis and attorney Natalia “Nata” Cornelio did work together to draft the landmark settlement over Harris County’s misdemeanor bail system, which according to a federal judge was unconstitutional and discriminated against poor defendants. And yes, she is Ellis’ employee.

Judge George Powell is running for re-election in 2020. However, to win his bid for re-election he must defeat, Natalia "Nata" Cornelio on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. And, if he is successful against Cornelio, he must then face off against Arlena Hecht on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

PATHWAY TO VICTORY

On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Judge George Powell must win the Democratic nomination against Natalia Cornelio. If he can defeat Cornelio, and earn the Democratic nomination in the race for Judge, 351st Criminal District Court, he will then have to face off against, the Republican nominee, Arlena Hecht, who is unopposed in the 2020 Republican Primary. “God is so good,” said Judge George Powell, who is grateful to earn the right to run for re-lection. “He took what was meant for my harm and used it for my good,” he said via his Facebook account earlier this morning. “This morning (Friday, January 10, 2020), I will be in a drawing to determine my position on the primary ballot, he went on to say. “Please say a prayer for me. Many people have asked whether I would leave the Democratic Party after what was done to me. I will not. What occurred was done in the dark by a very few well-positioned people and is not representative of the party,” said Judge Powell. “I am a Democrat and I’m not going anywhere. There are so many hard-working “true Democrats” all throughout this county who are trying to keep good candidates in office. Long story short, having been wrongfully accused only makes me a better judge and a more perfect person for this position. Be blessed, he concluded.
