Gamesmanship on Behalf of Gov. Greg Abbott Could Delay the Special Election for the 18th Congressional District

Commissioner Rodney Ellis (left) was fully aware that the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (second from right) and the late Congressman Sylvester Turner (second from right) were both feeble, weak, and dying when the picture above was taken at the Green House International Church, where that lifetime "SEX OFFENDER" Pastor E.A. Deckard is the senior pastor. If you have forgotten, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee used the shield of the 18th Congressional District to provide a safe haven for her close friend and comrade (EDDIE ANDRE DECKARD), who sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl who was a student at the Charter School where he worked. IN NO HURRY...After the untimely death of Congressman Sylvester Turner, who was best buddies (if you know what I mean) with Pastor E.A. Deckard, the assignment to set a "SPECIAL ELECTION" to replace Turner has fallen into the hands of Governor Greg Abbott (right), who is a Republican. (CLICK HERE) Learn more about the "PEDOPHILE PASTOR" who Commissioner Rodney Ellis, the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and the late Congressman Sylvester Turner shielded for decades.

Former State Rep. Shawn Thierry has become the "DARLING OF THE GOP"; however, Governor Greg Abbot cannot appoint Shawn Thierry to fill the void left by the untimely death of the late Congressman Sylvester Turner. While "THE GOP" officially stands for the "GRAND OLD PARTY," more and more African Americans are beginning to view "THE GOP" as a bastion of opportunity and hope for a brighter future. Governor Greg Abbott proudly welcomed State Rep. Shawn Thierry into the Texas Republican Party after she fled the Harris County Democratic Party after she was allegedly tormented, sexually harassed, bullied, and intimidated by a nasty, filthy, Harris County Democratic Party Precinct Chair named Kay Shepard, who viewed the Honorable Shawn Thierry as a piece of meat on a dinner plate. It is unclear if "THE GOP" is going to run there for the vacant 18th Congressional District seat, which she could flip from "BLUE" to "RED" with the proper financial backing and support from Governor Greg Abbott and other conservatives.

Sylvester Turner (Democrat) received 151,834 votes, for 69.42% of the vote. His Republican opponent received 66,810 votes, for 30.55% of the vote. A bonified "STEALTH CANDIDATE" like former State Rep. Shawn Thierry could legitimately receive over 100,000 votes in a race for the 18th Congressional District if she were to marry a strong base of MAGA, "Make America Great Again," patriots with African American voters who are sick and tired of being played for fools by the "ELLIS/TURNER/LEE" political regime members.

Erica Lee Carter (Democrat) received 146,413 votes, for 67.94% of the vote. Her two Republican opponents received split votes, Maria Dunn received 47,835 votes, for 22.20% of the vote, and Kevin O. Dural received 21,257 votes, for 9.86%. A serious "STEALTH CANDIDATE" like former State Rep. Shawn Thierry could marry the voters who supported Maria Dunn and Kevin O. Dural and receive over 100,000 votes in a race for the 18th Congressional District. However, she would need the financial backing of MAGA, "Make America Great Again," patriots, and a robust number of African Americans who are fed up and have had enough of the "ELLIS/TURNER/LEE" regime.

Former Congressman Sylvester Turner took to the airwaves to talk to local news stations like KPRC about the death of his long-time friend, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, as soon as she died. Turner is pictured above Khambrel Marshall, a reporter with KPRC, doing an exclusive interview.

Former Mayor Sylvester "SLY" Turner (right) and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee were both gravely ill, feeble, and in no shape to be on the campaign trail during the later stages of their public careers. In the end, the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas were manipulated and played for fools by the "ELLIS/TURNER/LEE" regime.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) had already been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and should have been on her resting bed when this photo was taken. Instead of demanding the "SHE-JACK" rest and spend time with her family, members of the "ELLIS/TURNER/LEE" regime had this dying woman on the campaign trail.

Former Mayor Sylvester Turner could ultimately go down in history as one of the most corrupt mayors in American history. Turner was never punished for his alleged bid-rigging and other forms of corruption that he engaged in, which date back decades.

Congressman Sylvester Turner is dead and gone, and the "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District is in the hands of Governor Greg Abbott. After Letitia Plummer and Turner did a number on former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards with the HCDP Precinct Chairs, the people of the 18th Congressional District are likely eager to make their intentions known.

Gamesmanship on Behalf of Gov. Greg Abbott Could Delay the Special Election for the 18th Congressional District

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

The mistake the “BLACK STAKEHOLDERS” and “ELECTED OFFICIALS” made after the untimely death of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee was they got the ballot order wrong.

Instead of running former Mayor Sylvester Turner, who was visibly feeble and sick at the time, to complete the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s “FULL TERM,” Turner should have been placed on the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, ballot in the spot where they put Erica Lee Carter, the loving daughter of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

By flip-flopping the placement order of Erica Lee Carter and former Mayor Sylvester Turner, the heartache and grieving the people of the 18th Congressional District find themselves struggling through today would have been averted, and the people of the 18th Congressional District would have a current representative.

What am I talking about?

Sylvester Turner had always dreamed of becoming a member of the United States Congress. Still, he placed his dream on hold because of his love, respect, and admiration for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, if you believe him.

In my opinion, if the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” regime wanted to help Turner achieve his “DYING WISH” of becoming a U.S. Representative, they could have achieved their objective by having him run for the “UNEXPIRED TERM” for United States Representative, District 18, instead of the “FULL TERM” for the coveted seat, which he only held for two months.

How can I say this? The man behind the curtains pulling the strings on the jostling and maneuvering from both races was “THE PUPPET MASTER,” Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis – that’s a fact.

On his website, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter Erica Lee Carter is still listed as Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s senior policy advisor.

Listen. Commissioner Rodney Ellis, “THE PUPPET MASTER,” pulled Erica Lee Carter’s strings while she was grieving the loss of her beloved mother. Ellis, as her boss, could have had Erica Lee Carter run for either term for the 18th Congressional District if he had desired.

Based on my study of the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, race for the 18th Congressional District, Erica Lee Carter possessed the ability to win either race.

As a refresher, Erica Lee Carter appeared on the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, ballot in the “UNEXPIRED TERM” race for the 18th Congressional District. However, Erica Lee Carter received 146,413 votes, for 67.94%, to dominate her Republican opponents.

Maria Dunn, a Republican, received 47,835 votes for 22.20%, and Kevin O. Dural received 21,257 votes for 9.86%.

In the 18th Congressional District race for the “FULL TERM,” which also appeared on the Tuesday, November 5, 2025, ballot, Sylvester Turner dominated opponents. Turner received 151,834 votes, for 69.42%, and Lana Centonze received 66,810 votes, for 30.55%.

Kevin Dural and Vince Duncan appeared on the ballot in the race for the 18th Congressional District, including Sylvester Turner, but as write-in candidates.

So, as I’ve already explained, Erica Lee Carter was more than capable of handling her business in the race for the “FULL TERM” with her stellar performance, garnering 146,413 votes, which was a tremendous feat for her.

Turner’s performance was also stellar, but with his poor health condition, Commissioner Ellis and the “COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS” and elected officials pushing Turner should have given more thought to their strategy.

GOVERNOR IS IN COMPLETE CONTROL…

Contrary to popular opinion, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, does not have to call a “SPECIAL ELECTION” for the 18th Congressional District anytime this year. Remember, the 119th Congressional Session began in January of this year but does not end until January 2027. That said, what constitutes an emergency for the predominantly African American 18th Congressional District of Texas does not constitute an emergency for Gov. Greg Abbott, President Donald J. Trump, or U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, who would benefit significantly from a long delay if his friend Gov. Abbott were to drag his feet until next year.

According to published reports, Abbott has not yet decided when a special election will occur. Believe it or not, Governor Abbott, by law, isn’t required to even call a “SPECIAL ELECTION” during the 2025 or 2026 calendar years – that’s a fact.

Yes, you heard me right. Governor Greg Abbott has full and complete control related to setting a “SPECIAL ELECTION DATE” to complete the remainder of the late Congressman Sylvester Turner’s term, which ends in January of 2027.

The following two “ELECTION DATES” already on the calendar in Texas are Saturday, May 3, 2025, when a Uniform Election will take place, and Tuesday, November 4, 2025, when another Uniform Election is on the calendar.

THE SLIMIEST OF MARGINS IN CONGRESS…

The 119th Congressional Session of Congress represents the slimmest majority in the House of Representatives for any party since the 72nd Congress, which took place from (1931-1933).

If you haven’t been paying attention, the current margin is (218) Republican Members of Congress, (214) Democratic Members of Congress, and (3) Open Congressional Seats.

Congresswoman Elisa Stefanick (NY-21) is only 40 years old, yet President Donald Trump nominated her as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations.

Once Stefanick is confirmed to serve as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, she will resign from her seat in the United States Congress, and her seat will become vacant.

As of today, the three vacant seats in the 119th Congress are (FL-01), which was held by Matt Gaetz (FL-06), which Mike Waltz held; and (TX-18), which was held by the late Congressman Sylvester Turner, who died on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, after only serving a little over two months in Congress.

The “SPECIAL ELECTIONS” for the 1st Congressional District in Florida and the 6th Congressional District in Florida will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. And there’s no telling when Texas Governor Greg Abbott will call the “SPECIAL ELECTION” to fill the vacant 18th Congressional seat in Texas, left vacant by the untimely death of Congressman Sylvester Turner.

CONGRESSMAN AL GREEN IN TROUBLE…

After Congressman Al Green pulled his antics during President Donald J. Trump’s “Joint Session of Congress” speech, he got thrown out, was censured, and may have jeopardized his 9th Congressional District Seat.

FOX 26 NEWS, Houston, reports that the sister of late Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen has announced her candidacy to challenge Congressman Al Green for his 9th Congressional District of Texas seat in the 2026 Midterm Election.

According to the FOX 26 NEWS report, Myra Guillen has no prior political experience. However, she serves as the founder of the Vanessa Guillen Foundation and has been an advocate for military service members since her sister’s death.

The race for the 9th Congressional District of Texas, according to the FOX 26 NEWS report, is expected to draw significant attention as Myra Guillen takes on Congressman Al Green, a long-serving Democratic incumbent, in what will be a high-profile political race.

GAMESMANSHIP AT PLAY IN TEXAS...

The United States Constitution gives Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, complete control over the calling of the “SPECIAL ELECTION” for the vacant Congressional District 18th seat after the untimely death of Congressman Sylvester Turner.

What we’re facing now could evolve into a profound display of “GAMESMANSHIP” on behalf of Governor Abbott. However, we can’t blame Governor Abbott. Where does the blame lie?

The people to blame for the state, the people of the 18th Congressional District, find themselves today are the same people behind the people of 5th Ward, finding themselves living in “CANCER CLUSTERS” after they got sold out by the very public officials who took money from the Union Pacific Railroad, who could be responsible for the deaths of untold numbers of 5th Ward residents, who are primarily African American.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee chose to die in office as if she were some deity or mortar for a noble cause. What Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee did was not noble, but rather selfish, egotistical, and selfish, and it was all about her and had nothing to do with the people.

And Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s successor, bless his soul, Congressman Sylvester Turner, already had a stellar legacy as a State Representative, who rose to become Mayor of the city where he grew up and rose to stardom.

UPCOMING KCOH RADIO BROADCAST…

Out of respect for Congressman Sylvester Turner’s family, I will not discuss my true feelings about Turner until after his funeral on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Church Without Walls. However, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, I will make a special “GUEST APPEARANCE” on KCOH Radio beside Hall of Famer Broadcaster Ralph Cooper.

I don’t trust many reporters in the mainstream media very much after many have been falsely labeling me a right-wing blogger when they know that they are not speaking the truth. For the record, over three decades, I have helped elect more Democrats and Republicans than nearly any other publisher in Texas of any ethnicity – that’s a fact.

Related to “COOP,” I’ve known Ralph Cooper nearly all my adult life and know him to be a fair journalist and straight-shooter. Like many other sports enthusiasts, when I think of Ralph Cooper, I think of him as a sports legend, not someone deep into politics.

STEPHEN A. SMITH FOR PRESIDENT 2028…

However, as is the case with Stephen A. Smith, as the calls for him to run for president in 2028 grow louder, sports influencers, reporters, bloggers, TikTok influencers, and social media publishers are beginning to delve into politics and expand their sphere of influence.

An article published in the NEW YORKER, written last month on February 14, 2025, by Jay Caspian King, posed a serious question. “Stephen A. Smith for President.”

“If the Democratic Party has a problem drawing young men who believe that the excesses of wokeness have left them behind, could there be a more appealing figure than the guy they’ve been watching argue about sports for the past decade?”

The NEW YORKER reporter walked into a hornet’s nest, but in my opinion, he did a noble dead – more so than he knows.

Men are having trouble remaining engaged in politics and searching for a new direction for America. But my report today isn’t about Stephen A. Smith running for president in the 2028 Presidential Election, but more about a local hometown sports personality.

RALPH COOPER IS THE MAN IN HOUSTON…

Most people know Ralph Cooper as a longtime “ON-AIR PERSONALITY” and sports radio legend. However, Ralph Cooper began his career as a Houston Forward Times newspaper journalist during their glory days.

During his early days, “COOP,” as many of his beloved fans call him, spent time covering Harris County Courtrooms, local jails, and community issues – which I would love to see him return to covering in Harris County, Texas.

It was “COOP’s” covering of politics that sprung him into covering junior high school sports and then the NFL “National Football League” and NBA “National Basketball League,” and he evolved into the Hall of Fame Sports Broadcaster we know today.

We learn something new every day. I learned over the weekend that Ralph Cooper started using his political influence to affect the outcome of Texas political races in 1968, a year after I was born in 1967.

Damn, Ralph has been on the scene for a long time. And the unique thing about “COOP” is that he has worked with and volunteered for “REPUBLICANS” and “DEMOCRATS” in his political endeavors, which isn’t too popular these days.

Hall of Fame Broadcaster Ralph Cooper has a world of knowledge in his memory banks. And I hope more influential men like “COOP” and Stephen A. Smith will join the fight to “INFORM AND EMPOWER AMERICANS” to make wise decisions at the ballot box.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT…

You can’t blame Governor Abbott if he doesn’t call a “SPECIAL ELECTION” until next year. Why not? Commissioner Rodney Ellis, the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and the late Sylvester Turner schemed, plotted, and manipulated the people of the 18th Congressional District into trusting their “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” regime for decades.

After gaining the people’s trust of the 18th Congressional District, members of the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” regime betrayed their trust by allowing two sick and feeble politicians to breathe their last breath in office instead of passing the torch to a healthier torch-bearer.

Taylor, the publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper, will appear on KCOH RADIO at 1:15 p.m. to talk about the field of potential candidates who could competitively race for the vacant 18th Congressional District seat.

Commissioner Rodney Ellis has $6,414,367.00 in his campaign bank account, more than all of the sitting incumbent "DEMOCRATIC JUDGES" combined. However, the incumbent Democratic Judges are called upon to give the lion's share of the money donated to the Harris County Democratic Party. During the 2024 Presidential Election cycle, while more than a few Democratic Judges donated upwards of $50,000.00 to the Harris County Democratic Party out of their hard-earned campaign money, Commissioner Ellis only gave about $6,500.00 to the HCDP, which was nothing for a man with more than $6 million in his campaign account. (CLICK HERE) Please take a moment to view Commissioner Rodney Ellis's Campaign Finance Report.
