Amanda Edwards Has Officially Announce Her Candidacy to Run for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas

Former At-Large Houston City Councilwoman Amanda Edwards has courageously decided to step up and pursue her dream of becoming the next U.S. Representative for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. "I am honored to announce that I am running for Congress. My commitment to this community has never wavered, and I will continue to fight for the opportunities and resources our district needs. We need the next generation of new leaders in Washington to combat Trump’s attacks on jobs, healthcare, and education. The stakes are far too important to stay on the sidelines right now. With unwavering determination, I will work every day to deliver real results for the people I serve. This journey is about all of us—our voices, our future. I hope you’ll stand with me," she stated on FACEBOOK earlier this morning.

Longtime Community Leader Charles Stamps (top left) believes that State Rep. Ron Reynolds (top center) is the man to beat if he chooses to pursue the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat. According to Stamps, if State Rep. Reynolds, who was just voted one of the "Most Influential Blacks Today for 2025" by CORE 100, enters the race, he and former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards (bottom center) would inevitably end up in a runoff against one another. "Ron Reynolds is our best chance to overcome the status quo," Stamps proclaimed via text. In a new twist, a multi-millionaire businessman named Julian Antonio Martinez (right) called Investigative Reporter Aubrey R. Taylor (me). He expressed concern about the games politicians play with the 18th Congressional District of Texas seat. TOTALLY SCRIPTED...What played out yesterday regarding Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee was totally scripted, and the handiwork of Commissioner Rodney Ellis, who is "THE PUPPET MASTER" behind the curtain pulling the strings of Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee's daughter, former Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter, who has been employed by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis as his senior political advisor, since August of 2020.

State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right) and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic Congresswoman from the 14th Congressional District in New York, would make a great young team if Reynolds pursued the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas. Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is only 35 years old, and State Rep. Reynolds is only 51 years old. Community icon Charles Stamps, the founder of the MLK Grande Parade, believes that State Rep. Ron Reynolds would make the runoff and face off against former City of Houston At-Large Councilwoman Amanda Edwards. Should State Rep. Reynolds not pursue the seat, Charles Stamps believes that Edwards could win the "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. "I'm proud to stand with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in her discontent with Minority Leader Chuch Schumer. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should primary Schumer in the next election. Congresswoman AOC is a POWERFUL progressive leader FIGHTING in Congress and speaking TRUTH to power! Thanks for standing up to Trump and weak democrats too," stated State Rep. Reynolds in a recent FACEBOOK post.

Regarding power and influence, in Houston, Texas, Kieth "MR. D-MARS Davis, Sr., is the man. For well over 20 years, "MR. D-MARS" has dominated the Houston region with his D-Mars Business Journal, as the President and CEO of Vaskey Media Group, Inc., "MR. D-MARS" has spearheaded campaigns from many local and national brands, local businesses, and politicians. State Rep. Ron Reynolds and "MR. D-MARS" have been friends and allies long before State Rep. Reynolds was elected as the first African American State Representative since the Reconstruction era to get elected in Fort Bend County, Texas.

United States Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) is 55, and State Rep. Ron E. Reynolds is 51, which means State Rep. Reynolds is young enough to build a lasting legacy if he decides to run for the United States Congress in the upcoming "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. You must remember that State Rep. Reynolds is highly respected by Democrats on the local and national political stages.

There's no question about it, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (left) has emerged and positioned herself as one of the strongest female voices in national politics. At 43, Congresswoman Crockett is tirelessly challenging Democrats to stand up and be strong and courageous. Having a fearless leader like State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right) by her side in Washington, D.C., would make things much more serious. However, a United States Army Veteran named Sholdon Daniels (a Republican), has announced on Fox News Digital that he's challenging Congresswoman Crockett for her 30th Congressional District seat in the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election.

Hands down, at 55 years old, famed Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump (left) is considered one of the top voices in America. When Benjamin Lloyd Crump speaks, America listens. Crump is a lawyer of justice and fairness. And as it relates to State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right), at 51 years old, his future has never been brighter as his life story has become more of a testament to God's grace and faithfulness as State Rep. Reynolds expands his wings well beyond Fort Bend County.

Former Prizefighter turned businessman Eric Carr, the president and CEO of E&E Construction, is one of the best-kept secrets in Harris County, Texas. Carr's popularity and influence on the northeast-side of Houston, Texas, could be invaluable for a candidate to win the upcoming "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. Carr's strong brotherly bond with State Rep. Reynolds could be an essential driving factor in Reynolds's success should he decide to pursue the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat.

When caring about Houston, Texas matters, you would be hard-pressed to go out and find a more vigorous advocate for the people of Houston than 44-year-old "Trae tha Truth," pictured above with State Rep. Ron Reynolds, 51, a rising star on the national political scene. Born Frazier Othel Thompson III, "Trae tha Truth," knows a thing or two about leadership because whenever there's someone in need, he's been ready and willing to answer the call to service.

Former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards has all the necessary tools to become a stellar United States Congresswoman. She's drop-dead gorgeous, intelligent, strong, courageous, and knows how to raise money. Amanda could be the breath of fresh air the people of the 18th Congressional District desperately need. Her strategy and approach must be reevaluated and adjusted for this to happen. The major drawback with Amanda Edwards is that she doesn't allow the "DAWG" in her to manifest, which is causing people to mistake her outward beauty and reluctance to engage other political candidates as a form of weakness. The people of the 18th Congressional District need someone with tenacity and intestinal fortitude to fight for their interests in the Washington D.C. "SWAMP." In politics, beauty will only take you so far. Political candidates must have fight, grit, and tenacity built within their DNA to be successful in "BLACK COMMUNITY" politics. When you get down to it, nobody wants anyone representing them in "THE SWAMP" who comes across as timid and shy.

Menefee Won’t Even Make the Runoff, Says Charles Stamps; Multi-millionaire Car Dealer Julian Martinez Could Enter the Race

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee resigned his position as County Attorney on Monday, 17, 2025, after automatically triggering his resignation when he filed his “STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY” with the Federal Election Commission on Saturday, March 15, 2025, after he attended the funeral for the late Congressman Sylvester Turner.

Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s regime was plotting, planning, and strategizing while other “POTENTIAL CANDIDATES” were mourning and grieving the death of Turner.

A well-known attorney named Nyanza Moore called out Harris County Attorney Menefee on Sunday morning on FOX 26 Houston’s “What’s Your Point” with Greg Groogan.

“Unfortunately, when you’re at a funeral mourning someone, it’s usually not the time to be considering your FEC filing, and go file to run for the 18th spot the moment you leave the funeral,” stated attorney Nyanza Moore, speaking of the underhanded deed carried out by Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Attorney Moore states, “The timing of County Attorney Menefee’s filing could not have been in the worst taste. I feel like if there is a position to run for, maybe let them cover up the gravesite before you throw your name in the hat.”

Yes, she’s right, but Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee and Commissioner Rodney Ellis had to move fast because they had news outlets around the country that they needed to leak their story to so that Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee could get a headstart on the other potential candidates while they were still mourning the loss of Congressman Sylvester Turner.

Early Monday morning, even before County Attorney Christian Menefee announced to the public that he was resigning, his campaign team was already sending out “DONATION REQUESTS” via ActBlue, a Democratic Party political action committee and fundraising platform founded in 2004.

Now, I wasn’t born yesterday; from the looks of things, Commissioner Rodney Ellis has stepped into his role as “PUPPET MASTER” and is pulling some serious strings for Menefee.

Notice the first local person of notoriety to endorse Christian Menefee in the race for the 18th Congressional District is none other than the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter, who works for Commissioner Rodney Ellis as his senior policy advisor.

Congresswoman Erica Lee, the daughter of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, is nothing more than a “PUPPET,” and the person behind the curtain pulling her strings is none other than “THE PUPPET MASTER” himself – Commissioner Rodney Ellis.

Make no mistake about it: the local “DEMOCRATIC MACHINE” is behind Christian Menefee, which, after yesterday, proved that regional and national media are going to be highly favorable to Menefee in hopes of giving him a decided advantage over other would-be contenders.

Local Democrat leaders pay the Houston Chronicle millions of dollars, so you can rest assured that every piece of “PROPAGANDA” published by the Houston Chronicle will receive maximum exposure in other local publications here in Houston, across the state, and in national newspapers – just like what unfolded yesterday.

What the other “TOP CONTENDERS” must realize is that it was not a coincidence that Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee was prominently featured in the Houston Chronicle, the Texas Tribune, Click2Houston, FOX 26 Houston, KHOU Channel 11, ABC 13 Houston, Yahoo News, the New York Times, the Houston Landing, Houston Public Media, the Texas Scorecard, MSN News, Hoodline, the Houston Defender, Reddit, and Newsbreak, in a coordinated fashion.

While all these media entities have solid followings, subscriber bases, and viewerships, you must remember that many African Americans living inside the boundaries of the 18th Congressional District don’t rely on these media outlets to keep them informed.

So, for all of the fanfare County Attorney Christian Menefee received yesterday, it could backfire as the registered voters in the 18th Congressional District put two and two together and figure out that Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee is little more than a “PUPPET” who is having his strings pulled by “THE PUPPET MASTER” himself – Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis.

STILL HIGH ON RON REYNOLDS…

A well-respected “BLACK LEADER” in the Houston area is Charles Stamps, the founder of the MLK Grande Parade. “Ron Reynolds is our best chance to overcome the status quo,” said Stamps in a text message I received after Christian Menefee announced his resignation yesterday.

“The two Richards are Toast and have been soundly rejected by the 18th in prior elections with no one else having high name ID save for Plummer, who has questionable values and morals,” proclaimed the outspoken Stamps.

In case you don’t know, the Plummer, who Charles Stamps is referring to, is none other than At-Large Position #4, the City of Houston Councilwoman Letitia Plummer, who is expected to enter the race but is subject to the “RESIGN TO RUN” law.

“The Last Man Standing would be Reynolds and Edwards, who undoubtedly will face off in a runoff, with Reynolds having a decisive edge should he run,” explained Stamps.

According to Stamps, if State Rep. Ron Reynolds does not pursue the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat in the “SPECIAL ELECTION,” former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards should clear the field.

If State Rep. Reynolds does not run, “Hellow Congresswoman Edwards,” proclaimed Charles Stamps, who has decades of experience when it comes to dealing with Black politicians.

MARTINEZ COULD COMPLICATE MATTERS…

Many people are discussing what-ifs, what could be, and what might happen when Governor Greg Abbott finally calls the “SPECIAL ELECTION” for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas. However, yesterday, I received a call from a long-time multi-millionaire businessman named Julian Antonio Martinez.

Martinez is the popular owner of BMW Motor Cars, who has been making a difference in the lives of African Americans for decades. How? Martinez has loyally provided countless African Americans with affordable, high-quality, low-cost luxury automobiles to fit their budgets, make them look their best, feel their best, and confidently drive their families around H-Town and on nationwide road trips with peace of mind.

Julian Antonio Martinez has been a fixture in the Westchase district for decades. “I consider myself very fortunate to live and work in our wonderful city,” he told FOX 26 News Reporter Ronnie Marley when he entered the 2023 race for City of Houston Mayor to bring more awareness to the needs of Houstonians.

Most folks don’t realize that Martinez wasn’t necessarily trying to win his first entry into local politics but was instead trying to bring much-needed attention to the serious problems facing our city, like the rising crime rate, potholes, flooding issues, and public corruption at City Hall.

If you remember, under former Mayor Sylvester Turner’s leadership, Houston became known as the “CRIME CAPITAL” of America. Under Turner’s watch, the Houston Police Department (HPD) came under fire after discovering that over 260,000 cases were improperly suspended over his eight years as Mayor of Houston.

The 260,000 cases got improperly suspended using a “LACK OF PERSONNEL” code without conducting complete investigations, even though leads that could have been followed up on existed.

The police chief at the time, Troy Finner, identified over 4,017 of the 260,000 improperly suspended cases involving alleged sexual assaults.

As a refresher, the sexual assault and other criminal acts started getting kicked to the “LACK OF PERSONNEL” suspended case files in 2016, the same year when Mayor Sylvester Turner got voted into office as Mayor of Houston. Is that a coincidence?

“I’m disappointed in the increasing political division between our city’s leaders and their inability to address our most pressing problems,” said the profoundly concerned businessman.

According to Martinez, at the time, he felt his four decades of business leadership and experience would be invaluable to the people of the City of Houston. More importantly, he wanted to bring attention to a few problems that needed addressing.

“It is time to take action and fix Houston,” said Martinez in his FOX 26 interview. “We cannot solve today’s problems with yesterday’s ideas coming from career politicians who are focused on the interest of donors.”

I’m concerned about all those Black and Brown people who were living in those ‘Cancer Clusters’ in 5TH Ward while their elected representatives were pretending to fight for their interests while lining their pockets with donations from Union Pacific Railroad.

Even today, the people of the 5th Ward are still living in unhealthy conditions, and nobody appears to be doing anything to bring about a real solution to fix the problem.

According to Martinez, he has people who travel from all over Houston, many of them being African American, to purchase his vehicles because they know that he’s on their side, and if something happens to a car he’s sold them, the problem will get fixed.

“I’m not a politician; I’m a businessman in the ‘fix it’s business,” he told FOX 26 in 2023. “If I didn’t understand the importance of doing a job right, I would not have been able to build and sustain my business for 38 years.”

One of the things I like most about Julian Antonio Martinez’s interview with FOX 26 when he entered the race for Mayor of Houston to address a few pressing issues was that he sounded frank about addressing the needs of the people.

“Houstonians know the value of an honest day’s work, unlike politicians who continue to produce bad results with no accountability,” he told FOX 26 – and he’s correct.

While talking to Julian Antonio Martinez on Monday, March 17, 2025, about the upcoming “SPECIAL ELECTION” to fill the void left in the 18th Congressional District, I sensed that he was concerned about the field of candidates.

“We see the same old people getting recycled,” he proclaimed. “We need fresh blood in politics and people with a business mindset,” he explained. “I don’t see that so far,” he proclaimed. I see career politicians who only care about themselves wanting to stake their claim in the 18th Congressional District, to possibly enrich themselves and perhaps a few of their friends,” he said.

When asked if he was contemplating a run for the 18th Congressional District of Texas, he stated, “Perhaps.” Was he serious, I don’t know, for sure – but his love for people could propel him into jumping into the race if the field of contenders doesn’t become more diverse.

“The 18th Congressional District of Texas isn’t as Black as people believe it to be,” he said.

And you know what? I’ve been talking about the changing demographics in the 18th Congressional District for years.

Gentrification, the process whereby the makeup or character of a poor urban area is changed by wealthier people moving in, improving housing, and attracting new business while simultaneously pushing out or displacing the poor residents, has been happening in the 18th Congressional District for decades.

The redrawing of the 18th Congressional District boundaries in 2021 by the Texas Legislature almost pitted the two Black Houston congressional members against one another, caused many “COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS” along with Congressman Al Green (TX-9) and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18), to cry foul, and travel to the state Capital to express their concerns.

“It doesn’t look right for the only two persons in the state of Texas to be running against each other in a congressional district from the same party to be of African ancestry,” U.S. Congressman Al Green told the Texas Senate Special Committee on Redistricting.

While ultimately, Congressman Green and Congresswoman Jackson Lee were not forced to run against one another, the 18th Congressional District boundaries were carved up in such a way the once predominantly African American “CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT” looks more like a sideways horseshoe that’s going to be prime for the taking by someone other than an African American candidate very shortly.

What am I talking about? United States Census Bureau data shows that the 18th Congressional District is fertile ground.

9,992 – American Indians and Alaska Natives alone living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress), based on recent United States Census data.

38,002 – Asian alone living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress), based on United States Census data.

Based on United States Census data, 251,245 – Black or African American alone living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress).

332,547 – Hispanic or Latino (of any race) living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress), based on United States Census data.

1,016 – Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islanders alone living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress), based on United States Census data.

Based on United States Census data, 127,965 – White alone, not Hispanic or Latino, living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress).

Based on United States Census data, 165,961 – Other Races live inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress).

113,463 – Two or More Races living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress), based on United States Census data.

187,308 – White alone living inside the boundaries of Congressional District 18 (119th Congress), based on United States Census data.

Remember that there’s a big difference between people living inside the boundaries of the 18th Congressional District of Texas and the number of people registered to vote inside the 18th Congressional District of Texas.

Based on the “OFFICIAL CANVASS REPORTS” compiled by the Harris County Clerk, on November 5, 2024, there were 417,430 registered voters in the 18th Congressional District of Texas. However, only 225,092 of the registered voters went to the polls to cast a ballot in the race for the 18th Congressional District between Sylvester Turner (Democrat) and Lana Centonze, the Republican.

Sylvester Turner received 151,834 votes as a refresher, and Lana Centonze received 66,810. Two write-in candidates received a combined 76 votes.

With the upcoming “SPECIAL ELECTION” in mind, could someone as well-known as Julian Antonio Martinez win the 18th Congressional District of Texas seat if he chose to pursue it in a large field of African American career politicians? The answer is YES!

What you have to remember about the upcoming “SPECIAL ELECTION” is that this is not a “MIDTERM ELECTION” or a “PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION” where over a million people will be going to the polls to cast a vote.

The candidates running in the “SPECIAL ELECTION” will have to draw people to the polls to vote specifically for their candidacy – this could cause problems for candidates who don’t have “NAME IDENTIFICATION” or their wealth to fund a competitive campaign for the highly-coveted once held by the late Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, late Congressman Mickey Leland, Congressman Craig Washington, late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and late Congressman Sylvester Turner.

If you throw a very wealthy businessman like Julian Antonio Martinez into a field of (10) to (20) African American career politicians – who knows what’s going to happen? But as I said at the beginning of this report, Martinez is a “FIX IT GUY” who has dedicated his life to helping people ride in style with confidence.

Whether or not Julian Antonio Martinez is the man “STAKEHOLDERS” in the 18th Congressional District should consider recruiting to throw his name in the hat to succeed the late Congressman Sylvester Turner is a question they may need to ponder.

MEET JULIAN ANTONIO MARTINEZ...

Multi-millionaire businessman Julian Antonio Martinez has expressed serious concerns about the game politicians are playing with the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas, generally, and within the City of Houston.

According to his website, Julian Antonio Martinez is a true American success story. He was born into a hardworking family in the Dominican Republic, the oldest of six siblings. Julian’s parents immigrated to the United States in 1965 to seek a better life for their children. Once they were able to establish themselves in New York, his parents were able to reunite their family in the U.S. a few years later.

Always a hard worker, Julian worked two part-time jobs while attending high school. He cleaned offices and mopped floors, making just $1.60 an hour. The hours were long, and the work wasn’t glamorous – but Julian established a strong work ethic. After graduating, he attended a trade school to become an automotive technician.

In 1978, he married his high school sweetheart, Carmen. With nothing but a dream and hope for the future, they moved to Houston to start a new life. Julian drove to the local BMW dealership two hours before it opened to inquire about a job. He was hired on the spot and worked his way up to be one of the dealership’s top technicians.

In 1985, Julian ventured out to start his own business. Today, Julian runs a multi-million-dollar car dealer & service center dedicated to serving the Houston community. Julian prides himself on going the extra mile for his customers and building friendships with those who walk through the door.

In their 44 years of marriage, Julian and Carmen have been blessed with three children and four grandchildren. As a Bible-believing Christian, Julian raised his children to love God, go to church, and become followers of Christ. He taught them to work, study hard, dream big, and be persistent. Julian worked six days a week to provide a debt-free education for children. All three of his children have degrees from Texas colleges and have joined him in the family business. His sons earned mechanical engineering degrees, one from UT-Austin and the other from Texas A&M. His youngest earned a company and an engineering technology degree from HCC.

Achieving the American dream has been difficult, but Julian has never let failure keep him down. Through economic downturns and difficult circumstances, he’s taken the necessary steps to stay ahead and keep his corporation successful and thriving. As a businessman, he believes in stewarding the resources God has given him to further the greater good. That’s why his business supports numerous Christian organizations, churches, schools, homeless shelters, orphanages, and youth athletic programs.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT…

What's playing out in the lead-up to Governor Greg Abbott announcing a date for the "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat are a bunch of hypothetical matchups and recruitment strategies. As for Charles Stamps's prediction that Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee might not even make "THE RUNOFF" I believe he's right.

According to the most recent U.S. Census, "The 5 largest ethnic groups in Congressional District 18, TX are Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) (31.4%), White (Hispanic) (17.8%), White (Non-Hispanic) (16.7%), Two+ (Hispanic) (12.8%), and Other (Hispanic) (12.7%).

43.3% of the households in Congressional District 18, Texas, reported speaking non-English at home as their primary shared language. This does not consider the potential multi-lingual nature of households; it only considers the primary self-reported language spoken by all household members.

Sylvester Turner (Democrat) received 151,834 votes, for 69.42% of the vote. His Republican opponent received 66,810 votes, for 30.55% of the vote. A bonified "STEALTH CANDIDATE" like former State Rep. Shawn Thierry could legitimately receive over 100,000 votes in a race for the 18th Congressional District if she were to marry a strong base of MAGA, "Make America Great Again," patriots with African American voters who are sick and tired of being played for fools by the "ELLIS/TURNER/LEE" political regime members.

Former State Representative Jarvis Johnson, State Representative Ron Reynolds, State Representative Jolanda Jones, State Representative Christina Morales, Former State Representative Shawn Thierry, NAACP-Houston President Bishop James Dixon, Councilwoman Letitia Plummer, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, Former Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter, Former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards, Former Candidate for State Rep. Angeanette "Angie" Thibodeaux, Community Activist Travis McGee, Community Actist Deric Muhammad, TSU Board Regent Dr. Richard Johnson, and former prizefighter turned Businessman Eric Carr, could make up a star-studded field of contenders.

Whenever Governor Greg Abbott calls the "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District, you will see a low voter turnout like what you would see in a primary race. And if there are (10) or (15) Democratic candidates running in the race, you will see a situation where the Democratic vote will be splintered. If you look at the "TOTAL" above, what you see is that only 23,629 Democrats turned out to vote for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and only 14,668 Democrats turned out for Amanda Edwards last year when they faced off.

66,810 votes were received by Lana Centonze (Republican) in the 2024 Presidential Election race for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s successor, Sylvester Turner.

58,033 votes were received by Wendell Champion (Republican) in the 2020 Presidential Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

48,306 votes were received by Lori Bartley (Republican) in the 2016 presidential election for the 18th Congressional District, which was run against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

47,835 votes were received by Maria Dunn (Republican) in the 2024 “UNEXPIRED TERM” Presidential Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter Erica Lee.

44,015 votes were received by Sean Seibert (Republican) in the 2012 presidential election for the 18th Congressional District, which was run against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

40,941 votes were received by Carmen Maria Montiel (Republican) in the 2022 Midterm Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

38,368 votes were received by Ava Pate (Republican) in the 2018 Midterm Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

21,257 votes were received by Kevin O. Dural (Republican) in the 2024 “UNEXPIRED TERM” Presidential Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter Erica Lee.

Commissioner Rodney Ellis has $6,414,367.00 in his campaign bank account, more than all of the sitting incumbent "DEMOCRATIC JUDGES" combined. However, the incumbent Democratic Judges are called upon to give the lion's share of the money donated to the Harris County Democratic Party. During the 2024 Presidential Election cycle, while more than a few Democratic Judges donated upwards of $50,000.00 to the Harris County Democratic Party out of their hard-earned campaign money, Commissioner Ellis only gave about $6,500.00 to the HCDP, which was nothing for a man with more than $6 million in his campaign account. (CLICK HERE) Please take a moment to view Commissioner Rodney Ellis's Campaign Finance Report.
