The Badge "Dr." Candice Matthews is Flashing is Expired; Governor Abbott Got His Redistricting Maps Passed

State Rep. Nicole Collier (HD-95) has proven herself to be a "TRUE LEADER" by her actions. Refusing to bend to the will of Republicans and standing her ground alone is reminiscent of the noble act of courage displayed by civil rights icon Rosa Parks, who refused to move from her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. As for State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27), his light is shining brighter than ever as he navigates his way up the ranks of the Democratic Party onto the national stage. Unlike his colleague Jolanda Jones, who is basically just saying a bunch of stuff off the top of her head out of desperation, State Rep. Ron Reynolds is clear, thoughtful, impactful, and accurate with his statements. State Rep. Ron Reynolds and State Rep. Nicole Collier are two Democratic State Representatives who should be re-elected to their offices on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in the Democratic Party Primary.

"GOVERNOR ABBOTT."

The Texas Democratic Party had better wake up and understand that Governor Greg Abbott is not playing games with them. Most of what happened over the last few weeks has been for nothing. If California moves forward with its redistricting plans, Gov. Abbott already has plans in place to add 10 districts instead of the five the Texas Legislature approved yesterday.

"JOLANDA 'JO' JONES."

Over the last few weeks, State Rep. Jolanda "Jo" Jones has lost traction at every turn. For starters, the LGBTQ "Caucus" rejected Jolanda's bid for the 18th Congressional District of Texas, pretty much putting a nail in the coffin of her campaign. Next up, we've discovered that while State Rep. Jolanda Jones has pretended to be a "FIGHTER FOR THE PEOPLE," she's also been taking "HUSH MONEY" from Republicans. Yes. You heard me right. State Rep. Jolanda Jones is on the take.

"CANDICE MATTHEWS."

Some people love "Dr." Candice Matthews, who serves as the National Minister of Politics for Quanell X's New Black Panther Nation, while others can not stand her guts. Even still, claiming to be a police officer to scare people and flashing an expired badge is a serious matter. In fact, it is a violation of Texas Penal Code - PENAL § 37.11, to Impersonate a Public Servant. Whether "Dr." Candice Matthews falsely claimed to be a "POLICE OFFICER" isn't even up for debate, because she was captured on video, which is posted below. The only question here is whether Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Texas Rangers, or Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare will investigate the matter is another story altogether.

- WATCH VIDEO -

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the woman known as "Dr." Candice Matthews posted an Instagram video featuring a "POLICE BADGE" from the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office, where Constable Sherman Eagleton is the presiding Constable. According to Precinct 3 Constable's Office, "THE BADGE" that "Dr." Candice Matthews has in her possession is expired, but was never returned to the Precinct 3 Constable's Office by "Dr." Candice Matthews. Back on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, while at the Haverstock Apartments, "Dr." Candice Matthews told individuals that she was the police, in the video you see below.

- WATCH VIDEO -

The woman known as "Dr." Candice Mattews (Democrat) used the name of Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez (Democrat) to imply that she is immune from going to jail in Harris County, Texas, because she has Sheriff Ed Gonzalez's cell phone number. If you remember, last year, "Dr." Candice Matthews used the same strategy when she claimed that the Mayor of Port Arthur, Texas, and the Police Chief of Port Arthur, Texas were her cousins and therfore would not answer the call of a rival community activixt (Eligah Rick Jason), whose home she was ranting and raving in front of, while screaming "TERRORISTIC THREATS" through her bullhorn.

- WATCH VIDEO -

In this alarming video, Quanell X, the founder of the New Black Panther Nation, appears to be addressing his followers. In this video, Quanell X proclaims that he and his army will hunt down anyone who steps to "Dr." Candice Matthews. He does not mention any specific names, but addresses the video to people across Texas, which could include Judge Joseph L. Guillory, II, who is dealing with a situation involving "Dr." Candice Matthews in Jefferson County, Texas, and Judge Damiene "Diane" Curvey, who will have "Dr." Candice Matthews in her courtroom on Monday, July 7, 2025, for a "PROTECTIVE ORDER HEARING," because Angela Johnson, is in fear for her life.

The woman referred to as "Dr." Candice Matthews has demonstrated a reckless disregard for the rule of law in Jefferson County, Texas, and Harris County, Texas, over the years. However, she has become increasingly out of control with her intimidation tactics over the last few months. Even still, Quanell X's New Black Panther Nation's bullying tactics appear to be working exactly as he and his National Minister of Politics, "Dr." Candice Matthews, have public officials stricken with fear right now..

Republican leaders like Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick are very familiar with the "BALLOT HARVESTING RINGS" that have dominated Harris County politics for decades. Attorney General Ken Paxton and Governor Greg Abbott have also been briefed and given the names of every known "BALLOT HARVESTER" in Harris County, Texas.

88 to 52 Vote on HB-4 Signals Victory for Gov. Abbott, Reynolds, and Collier Emerge As Leaders; Jolanda Flops

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Talk is cheap, but money talks, and as the old saying goes, “BULL $H-T” walks. I don’t mean any harm, but “BLACK AND BROWN” people have some serious soul-searching to do between today and Tuesday, November 3, 2026, when they must do battle against Governor Greg Abbott at the ballot box, in the Lone Star State.

So, instead of continuing to fight “REDISTRICTING” and competing against one another trying to get headlines, Facebook “likes” and gain Instagram “followers,” Democrats had better mobilize, strategize, and unify themselves.

“GOV. ABBOTT WON.”

No ifs, ands, or buts about it, Governor Greg Abbott and President Donald Trump won the battle over redistricting. And don’t tell me anything about what the Governor of Florida is going to do.

If Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Governor of Florida, proceeds forward with his so-called “REDISTRICTING PLAN,” Governor Greg Abbott says that he’s going to target 10 of Texas’s Democratic House seats, which I don’t doubt that he would do, in a heartbeat.

Governor Greg Abbott has issued his statement following the House’s passage of House Bill 4. On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Governor Abbott Stated, “I congratulate Speaker Burrows and the Republican members of the Texas House of Representatives for passing congressional districts that better reflect the actual votes of Texans. While Democrats shirked their duty, in futility, and ran away to other states, Republicans stayed the course, stayed at work, and stayed true to Texas. I will sign this bill once it passes the Senate and gets to my desk.”

“MUST BE STOPPED.”

It is unclear at this time if Governor Greg Abbott or Attorney General Ken Paxton has heard the threats made by the woman known as “Dr.” Candice Matthews, who is currently serving as the National Minister of Politics for Quanell X’s New Black Panther Nation.

Some things cannot be allowed to go unchecked. The threats espoused by “Dr.” Candice Matthews related to having members of the New Black Panther Nation convene on our beloved State Capitol are serious.

“RON STOOD STRONG.”

Democratic lawmakers, for the most part, stood firm, but they came up short in their battle against the Republicans at the State Capitol. However, the fight isn’t over.

Where do we go from here?

The 88-52 vote says it all, as a new era of politics is on the horizon in Texas. “Today I cast a resounding NO on HB4 because it is nothing less than an assault on democracy and a betrayal of Texans still recovering from devastating floods,” stated State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27), whose brand has risen to new heights since Sunday, August 3, 2025, when Democrats broke quorum.

“As Dr. King said, ‘Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere’—and I will continue to make good trouble until every Texan has a fair voice in their government,” explained Reynolds.

Another strong leader who emerged in all of this is the State Representative from Fort Worth, named State Rep. Nicole Collier, who proved herself to be brave, courageous, and fearless.

I must admit, I like me some Nicole Collier, unlike State Rep. Jolanda Jones and others, State Rep. Collier did not bend to the threats of Roland Martin, the host of “ROLAND MARTIN UNFILTERED,” or that cowboy-hat-wearing bully named “Dr.” Candice Matthews.

Speaking of “Dr.” Candice Matthews, nobody should fear her anymore. Why not? Well, as it seems, the “CONSTABLE’S BADGE” that she’s been flashing on social media has expired, and needs to be returned to Constable Sherman Eagleton’s Office.

For the record, it is a serious “FELONY OFFENSE” to pretend to be a police officer to deceive someone or strike fear into the heart of someone. YES. You heard me right. It is a severe offense to impersonate a police officer in Texas and any other state.

Texas Penal Code - PENAL § 37.11. Impersonating a Public Servant is very clear. From my vantage point as an unbiased reporter, “Dr.” Candice Matthews may have already violated the law. She should return Constable Sherman Eagleton’s expired badge, which she improperly used.

If you don’t know, a person commits an offense if the impersonates a public servant with intent to induce another to submit to the person’s “PRETENDED OFFICIAL AUTHORITY” or to rely on the person’s pretended official acts, which is what “Dr.” Candice Matthews has been caught on tape doing, when she pretended to be a police officer.

When “Dr.” Candice Matthews used the name of Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, mentioning that she had a close relationship with him and direct access to his cell phone, she was pretending to have more authority than she possessed.

What “Dr.” Candice Matthews did, at that apartment complex, was knowingly purport to have “LEGAL AUTHORITY” and possessed the ability to function as a “POLICE OFFICER,” which is a “FELONIOUS ACT” punishable under section 37.11 of the Texas Penal Code as a FELONY in the third degree.

"STILL STANDING TALL"

After suffering a significant loss at the hands of Republicans in the fight against the new redistricting maps, one local Democrat stood tall above the rest. Who is it? Well, it’s Fort Bend County’s House District State Rep. Ron E. Reynolds.

What State Rep. Reynolds accomplished over the last few weeks is nothing short of extraordinary. Not only did State Rep. Ron Reynolds show grit, determination, and courage, but he also displayed a willingness to lead his party like a soldier.

NOPE! State Rep. Ron Reynolds has nothing to hang his head about. After all, Democrats were never going to win the fight to “STOP THE GOP” in their quest to gain new Congressional seats, heading into next year’s 2026 Midterms, but a “STAR WAS BORN” during the two weeks Democrats were on the lam.

State Rep. Jolanda Jones (HD-147) spent a lot of time running her mouth and fighting for attention. Listen. Democratic voters should not be fooled, confused, or dismayed. Jolanda “Jo” Jones is not the fighter she claims to be.

In reality, State Rep. Jolanda Jones’s brand diminished terribly over the last few weeks, and she knows it. Sure, she has a following on Facebook that she can manipulate into believing that she’s a fighter for “BLACK AND BROWN” people, but we now know the truth about her.

How can “Jo” even look “BLACK PEOPLE” in the eyes after “BETRAYING THE TRUST” of her fellow Democrats and constituents? Does she think we’re all stupid?

“THE TRANSACTION.”

Do you remember back in 2022, when all hell broke out in Harris County, Texas, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, which was Election Day? Remember, when all those polls started breaking down, and many local Republican voting polls were not supplied with enough ballot paper? Well, on the day right before all of the chaos erupted, a Republican “GOP MEGA DONOR,” gave “LOUD MOUTH” State Representative Jolanda Jones a check for $10,000.00, for what appears to be a “HUSH MONEY PAYMENT,” of some kind.

When all of the counting was complete, only four African Americans running as Democrats lost their countywide judicial races. The four African Americans I am referring to are Judge “RONNISHA” Bowman, a Black female; another Black female named “PORSCHA” Natasha Brown; a Black male named “GEMAYEL” Haynes; and another Black male named “JE’RELL” Rogers.

Suppose you think back to the 2022 Midterms and the most recent 2024 Presidential Election. In that case, the “STOP HOUSTON MURDERS PAC” was allowed to attack “DEMOCRATIC JUDGES” day and night on TV and Radio Stations without any resistance from the Harris County Democratic Party or the Texas Democratic Party.

One explanation for the lack of response or engagement to the “STOP HOUSTON MURDERS PAC” political attack ads is that Democratic leaders like State Senator Carol Alvarado, State Rep. Jolanda Jones, State Rep. Senfronia Thompson, State Rep. Charlene Ward Johnson, and many other local “BLACK ELECTED OFFICIALS” took direct (and in direct) payments from Richard Weekley, a Republican “GOP MEGA DONOR” who was financing the negative attack ad campaigns that were flooding the airwaves.

“A SERIOUS QUESTION.”

Why would all of these Democrats take money from the very Republicans whom they are calling evil and racist? Does that make sense? Listen. If Republicans are evil and racists, why are well-known “DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS” taking money from them?

Texans for Lawsuit Reform bought the loyalty of 35 Democratic lawmakers during the 2024 Presidential Election. This could explain why "DEMOCRATIC LEADERS" did not develop a plan to combat the "STOP HOUSTON MURDERS PAC," political attack ads, or the "JUDICIAL FAIRNESS PAC," political attack ads that were financed by Republican "GOP" Mega Donors named Richard and David Weekley, to remove incumbent Democatic judges from benches in Harris County, Texas.

Why did Mike Doyle give the Annette Ramirez Campaign $49,000.00 out of the Harris County Democratic Party (CEC) Bank Account to promote her campaign out of money that was given to him by "BLACK FEMALE JUDGES" and other Democratic candidates?

Former CNN Anchor turned "Power Black Political Influencer" Roland Martin, the host of Roland Martin UNFILTERED, recently had State Rep. Jolanda Jones (HD-147) and State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27) on his show, talking about how they were fighting for "BLACK AND BROWN" people. While State Rep. Reynolds seemed sincere, Jolanda was lying through her teeth. What Jolanda did not tell Roland and his followers was that she had been bought and purchased by two Republican "MEGA DONORS" and may have sold out many of her fellow Democrats back in 2022, by taking "HUSH MONEY" from Republicans. During the 2022 Midterm Election, as Democratic Judges and judicial candidates, like Judge DaSean Jones, Judge Ronnisha Bowman, Je'Rell Rogers, Gemayel Hanes, and Porscha Natasha Brown, were getting bombarded with negative attack TV Ads by the "STOP HOUSTON MURDERS PAC" and on the local and statewide levels by Texans for Lawsuit Reform, headed up by a powerful Republican "GOP" MEGA DONOR, named Dick Weekley.

Power Black Political Influencer Roland Martin recently had State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27), State Rep. Charlene Ward Johnson (HD-139), and State Rep. Jolanda Jones (HD-147) on his "ROLAND MARTIN UNFILTERED" show. During this broadcast, Roland implored these three Democrat lawmakers to "HOLD THE LINE," and not come back to Texas. However, what Roland Martin may not have known is that many of the Texas Democratic lawmakers who fled Texas are owned and controlled by two Republican "GOP MEGA DONORS" named Richard and Dick Weekley.

"TX SUPREME COURT."

What the Democrat lawmakers are afraid of now is the fact that the Texas Supreme Court has set an expedited schedule in the case that was filed by Texas  Attorney General Ken Paxton, requesting that the court remove State Rep. Ron Reynolds and 12 of his colleagues from the House District seats.

"EXPEDITED SCHEDULE."

The expedited briefing schedule scheduled to be held before the Texas Supreme Court will allow the briefs to be filed up to midnight on the scheduled due date. The deadline for Attorney General Ken Paxton’s brief to be filed is Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in case he filed for the removal of State Rep. Ron Reynolds and his 12 colleagues from their House District seats. State Rep. Ron Reynolds and his 12 colleagues must file their responses by Friday, August 29, 2025. And Paxton's reply briefs must be in by Thursday, September 4, 2025, which is why Democrats are planning to come back to Texas.

The woman known as "Dr." Candice Matthews, who serves at the National Minister of Politics for Quanell X's New Black Panther Nation, may not even know that some of the "DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS" who fled Texas, includeing State Rep. Jolanda Jones, are owned by Republican "GOP MEGA DONORS," like Dick and David Weekley.

"DEADLINE APPROACHING."

"WED., AUGUST 20, 2025."

State Rep. Ron Reynolds claims that he will not let Attorney General Ken Paxton's threats stop him from fighting for his constituents. Well, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the world will be watching to see if State Rep. Ron Reynolds dares to "STAND STRONG" against Attorney General Ken Paxton's threat to have him and 12 of his Democratic Colleagues removed from office.

Back during the 2022 Midterms, State Rep. Jolanda Jones (Democrat), State Senator John Whitmire (Democrat), and State Rep. Carol Alvarado (Democrat) took money directly from Republican "GOP MEGA DONORS" while their fellow Democrats who were running countwide for judicial positions were getting bombarded day and night with "POLITICAL ATTACK ADS" on local TV and radio stations, in Harris County, Texas.

State Senator John Whitmire (center) is flanked by Congressman Al Green (left) and State Rep. Sylvester Turner (right), who also took money from the Republican "GOP MEGA DONOR," who gave State Rep. Jolanda Jones what could be a $10,000.00 "HUSH MONEY" payment back on Monday, November 7, 2022, which was the day before Election Day.

State Senator Carol Alvarado (center) is flanked by State Senator Borris L. Miles (left) and State Senator Royce West (right), who also took money from the Republican "GOP MEGA DONOR," who gave State Rep. Jolanda Jones what could be a $10,000.00 "HUSH MONEY" payment back on Monday, November 7, 2022, which was the day before Election Day.

State Rep. Jolanda Jones (center) may have taken a $10,000.00 check, in the form of a "HUSH MONEY" payment from Republican "GOP MEGA DONORS." At the same time, Jolanda received her $10,000.00 payment; meanwhile, her fellow Democrat, Judge DaSean Jones (right), faced viciously targeted negative TV advertisements day and night. Judge Erica Hughes (left) was not on the ballot during the 2022 Midterm Election.

The Texas Rangers should take a very close look at the races for Judge, 183rd Criminal District Court, the races for Judge, County Criminal Court at Law No. 2, 3, and 14, that took place on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in the Midterm Election. You can "CLICK HERE" for race results. Also, please understand that it's nearly impossible for the differential in the race for Judge, 183rd Criminal District Court to be (267) votes, and the differential in the race for Judge, County Criminal Court at Law No. 3, to be (2,676) votes, which is precisely the same, except the (6) six added to the end.

With 1,066,738 votes cast in the race for Judge, 183rd Criminal District Court, the margin of victory for Kristin M. Guiney (Republican) over Gemayel L. Haynes (Democrat) was only 2,676 votes.

With 1,059,031 votes cast in the race for Judge, County Criminal Court at Law No. 3, the margin of victory for Leslie Johnson (Republican), over Porscha Natasha Brown (Democrat), was only 267 votes.

For the record, former Judge Paula Goodhart showed “ZER0” contributions and “ZERO” expenditures on her campaign finance report that was filed on October 31, 2022, under penalty of perjury. You can "CLICK HERE" to view the report for yourself.

So, just for the record, you can “CLICK HERE” to view “THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” that was filed by Kristin M. Guiney on 10/31/2022, in the race for Judge, 183rd Criminal District Court, which shows “ZERO” Contributions, and “ZERO” expenditures spent by Kristin M. Guiney between 9/30/2022 and 10/29/2022, in her winning effort against her Black Democratic opponent.

So, just for the record, you can “CLICK HERE” to view “THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” that was filed by Leslie Johnson on 10/31/2022, in the race for Judge, Judge, County Criminal Court at Law No. 3, which shows that Leslie Johnson only received (1) one monetary donation for $1,000 from a retired guy by the name of Jerry West on 10/25/2022, she also received an in-kind donation (Food and Beverages) in the amount of $350 from Alexander Leon, and a $100 in-kind donation (Food and Beverages) from Renee Humphrey, a local homemaker.

- IRREGULARITIES -

So, just for the record, you can “CLICK HERE” to view “THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” that was filed by Jessica N. Padilla on 10/10/2022, in the race for Judge, County Criminal Court at Law No. 14, which Jessica N. Padilla only received $200 in political contributions, but she immediately reimbursed herself a partial payment $200 on 9/30/2022, for some signs that she had purchased for her campaign.

Jessica Padilla received a $100 donation from Linda Garcia on 9/29/2022 and a $100 donation from Claud Edward Rountree on 7/11/2022, according to her “CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” that was filed on 10/10/2022, under penalty of perjury. While nothing is wrong with receiving donations, the quickness of the reimbursement is worth mentioning.

The expenditure for the signs purchased by Jessica N. Padilla was for $523, which she paid by credit card on September 4, 2022, according to her “CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” that was filed on 10/10/2022, under penalty of perjury.

Jessica N. Padilla filed her most recent “CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” on 10/28/2022, which showed that she had given her campaign a $75 non-monetary in-kind contribution, and had received a $50 donation from a retired woman by the name of Patricia Phillips, and according to her most recently filed “CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT” only has $50 in political contributions inside of her campaign bank account.

Any legitimate investigation into the “VOTER SUPPRESSION” and “VOTER IRREGULARITIES” that unfolded in Harris County, Texas, must begin with the race for Judge, 183rd Criminal District Court, and the race for Judge, County Criminal Court at Law No. 3, in my unbiased opinion.

Well, where there’s smoke, there’s fire!!!

Let me make myself perfectly clear!!! It’s not human error or a clerical mistake that Gemayel L. Haynes (Democrat), who happens to be a Black male, lost to Kristin M. Guiney (Republican) by a mere (2,676) votes, and then, (39) thirty-nine races down-ballot, another "BLACK DEMOCRAT JUDICIAL CANDIDATE" by the name of Porscha Natasha Brown (Democrat), lost by (267) votes, to her Republican opponent.

According to Gary Wade, a career criminal and possible "CRACK HEAD," he is an enforcer for former First Assistant District Attorney Vivian King, who worked inside Kim Ogg's Administration. If you remember, Vivian King worked against "DEMOCRATIC JUDGES" by using her influence from inside the DA's Office to help defeat "DEMOCRATIC JUDGES," out of jealousy, envy, and spite.

Vivian King was a low-down, dirty, slimy, sleazy prosecutor rightfully rejected by Harris County, Texas voters last year in the 486th Criminal District Court race. Take a moment to review the article that was written about this lying, conniving witch by "HOUSTON WATCH" in October 2022. You will realize that Vivian King should never be elected as a judge in Harris County, Texas, or anywhere else in America.

Attorney Vivian King (Democrat) is a lying, conniving, manipulative, corrupt witch and a poor excuse for a human being. Vivian King is a snake and should not have been allowed to slither, squirm, wriggle, crawl, and manipulate her way into nearly becoming the judge of the 486th Criminal District Court. Vivian King is considered the "H-TOWN DRUNK" who hates men. She's also, on multiple occasions, allegedly tried to paint Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg (her boss) as a racist behind her back. Both of the "BLACK DEMOCRAT MEN" who were on the ballot on "SUPER TUESDAY" running against this low-down, dirty, dirty woman were more worthy and trustworthy than her. Either Gemayle Haynes or Roderick Rodgers should have been the Democratic nominee in the race for the 486th Criminal District Court, in my opinion. Based on the "OFFICIAL CANVASS REPORT" certified by Harris County Commissioners on Friday, November 15, 2024, Judge Aaron Burdette received 730,432 votes for 50.42% of the vote, and his challenger, Vivian King (Democrat), received 718,252 votes for 49.58%. That said, Judge Aaron Burdette defeated Vivian King by 12,180 votes. By the way, Vivian King should never be allowed to win a Democratic Party Primary again.

Vivian King is a low-down, dirty scoundrel whom the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, which is the highest court in Texas for criminal law matters, called "NOT CREDIBLE." The high court found that Vivian King provided ineffective assistance to her client and that the quality of her work was "deficient" in a case where her client received a life sentence. (CLICK HERE) Take a moment to learn more about this "SKANK" who did not file the petition needed for her client, causing her client to get a life sentence in a Texas prison.

During the 2022 Midterm Election, when the "STOP HOUSTON MURDERS" political attack ad campaign was conceptualized and used to defeat several "BLACK DEMOCRATIC JUDICIAL CANDIDATES," named Ronnisha, Je'rell, Gemayel, and Porsha, the general public needs to be made aware that Vivian King used her government job and email to provide guidance and assistance to Crime Stoppers in a matter concerning the release of financial documents related to donations to the nonprofit. Published reports in the New York Times, the Houston Chronicle, and  Houston Watch alluded that Vivian King has colluded on partisan political issues and targeted specific elected judges while working as the chief of staff for Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg, since she was elected.

Attorney General Ken Paxton successfully defends Texas’s Voter ID Requirement for Mail-in-Ballots and Vote-by-Mail Applications. “Voter ID is one of the most crucial tools in the battle against election fraud, and I’m pleased to see the court affirm our fundamental right to defend the integrity of our democratic process,” said Attorney General Paxton. “When voting by mail and applying to vote using that method, it’s vital that there is a requirement in place that allows us to verify the identity of the voter. We are going to enforce that requirement aggressively and continue to ensure that our state’s elections are secure," stated Attorney General Ken Paxton.
