Melanie Wilcox Miles Has Switched from Republican to Democrat and Now Serves as a Democratic Precinct Chair

“I would not bet against Melanie in the upcoming 2022 Democratic Party Primary!!! Yes, that’s Melanie Wilcox Flowers (now Melanie Wilcox Miles) you see pictured above with her ex-husband State Senator Borris L. Miles, the Texas state Senator for Senate District 13. Now, I know what many of you are thinking – isn’t Melanie a Republican? Well, that was Malanie Wilcox Flowers who was a Republican. Melanie Wilcox Miles is a Democrat. So, listen up Democrats!!! In case you haven’t heard, following her resounding defeat at the hands of Sandra Peake, a lifelong Democrat back in the 2018 Midterm Election in the race for Family District Court Judge, 257th Judicial District Court, Melanie jumped ship. She left the Harris County Republican Party for what she believes are greener pastures grazing with the Democrats. I guess if you can’t beat them, you should join them – right? I’m just joking – just kidding guys. I mean, she ran for office back during the 2014 Midterm Election in the Republican Party Primary race for the 247th Family District court bench and finished third in a tight contested primary race against John Schmude and Meca Walker. And like I said, she then gave running for office as a Republican another shot, back in the 2018 Midterm Election and won the Republican nomination; but ended up losing to Sandra Peake – a lifelong Democrat by a wide margin in the general election. Then, when the 2020 Democratic Party Primaries rolled around Melanie resurfaced sporting the ballot name – Melanie Miles Flowers. But this time she hit pay-dirt and found the victory she had been so desperately seeking when she challenged, and defeated Verlinda J. Higgins in the 2020 Democratic Party Precinct Chairman race for Precinct 140, in Harris County, Texas. Why am I bringing this up now? Well, I’m talking about this now, because some sitting Democratic judge is about to get the business in the upcoming 2022 Democratic Party Primary. How do I know? Well, you have to be an idiot to believe that Melanie Wilcox Miles (the name she’s going by on Facebook these days) has given up on her desire to become a Family Court judge. So, keep watching, because like I’ve said many times before, the 2022 Democratic Party Primary is about to be a free-for-all.”

"The truth of the matter is this dude right here knows how to win. Like him or not, State Senator Borris L. Miles has never lost a political race. And he's been very busy fighting hard for his Senate District 13 constituents in the 87th Texas Legislative session that will conclude on Monday, May 31, 2021. And as I think about it, I can't remember ever seeing him work with such an intense sense of urgency as he's displaying right now. So, that being said, every sitting Democratic Family District Court judge had better have their head on a swivel between now and Monday, December 13, 2021, the filing deadline for 2022 Democratic hopefuls to have their name placed on the ballot. And I should not have to tell you why."

Melanie Wilcox Flowers used to be a member of the Harris County Republican Party. However, after a couple of unsuccessful runs for public office as a Republican, she's switched political parties. Melanie now serves as the Harris County Democratic Precinct Chair for Precinct #140. But don't get it twisted, Melanie did not switch parties just to become a Democratic Precinct Chair. What Melanie wants more than anything else is to serve the people of Texas as Family Court Judge, in my opinion.

Democrat Melanie Wilcox Miles Is Being Uniquely Positioned as an Influential Leader in the Texas Democratic Party Right Now

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

I’ve been closely watching Melanie Wilcox Miles for the last year, or so, searching for an indication of what her future plans are as it relates to the Democratic Party. I’ve noticed that she’s become very vocal on political matters and that’s usually a sign of things to come. So, I can tell you right now, if Melanie Wilcox Miles decides to run for one of the local Family Court benches, she’s going to win! But if I were her, I wouldn’t fool around trying to challenge Judge Sandra Peake, for her 257th Family Court Bench. If I was advising her campaign, I would tell her to run against – SYKE – I’M NOT GIVING OUT ANY FREE ADVICE!!! Anyways, back on April 15, 2020, she was very vocal on the issue of gun violence, “We have had too much death in our state due to gun violence,” said Miles on her Facebook page. Then she went on to say, “Today Republican State Legislators voted for open carry of guns in the state. This bill will place our schools, restaurants, small businesses and the innocent in danger,” to blast the state leaders of the party she abandoned last year. “WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH A LICENSE! What is wrong with responsible gun ownership?” she asked. “Our legislators have abandoned protecting the people of this state!,” she proclaimed.

Chairman Carroll G. Robinson said, “TCBD greatly appreciates Melanie Miles’ commitment to helping the Coalition and other Texas Black PACs secure the resources necessary to help elect Black Democrats and grow Black voter turnout to help elect Democrats all across Texas in 2022 and 2024.”

The North Dallas Gazette Reported the Miles Agreed to Serve As Chair of the Texas Alliance of Black PACs

(PRESS RELEASE)

The Texas Coalition of Black Democrats (TCBD), in preparation for the 2022 and 2024 election cycles, has organized a statewide Texas Alliance of Black Political Action Committees (PACs) to engage in coordinated local, statewide and national fundraising to increase overall funding to maximize Black Democratic voter turnout through increased and enhanced voter registration, issue education, year-round voter engagement, community service and political infrastructure building and maintenance.

This historic initiative will be led by small business-owner, Melanie Miles. Miles has agreed to lead the fundraising project as part of The Coalition’s broader effort to help increase the involvement of Democratic Precinct Chairs and local and county elected officials within The Coalition and Texas Democratic Party.

In agreeing to serve as Chair of the Texas Alliance of Black PACs, Miles said, “I will be laser focused on helping to raise the funding necessary to bring change to Texas. Our state needs better, more compassionate and competent leadership and the path to achieving that goal is a stronger, more unified, energized and well-funded Black Democratic political infrastructure.

Black Democrats need the financial wherewithal to partner with our county parties across the state to maximize black voter turnout in our rural, suburban and urban counties.”

In addition to fundraising for the Texas Alliance of Black PACs, Melanie Miles has also agreed to work with The Coalition’s State Chair, Carroll G. Robinson, to assist him in an effort to help secure funding to ensure that all 254 Democratic County Parties across Texas have a full-time paid staff member to maximize the efficiency of precinct chairs in the effort to increase overall Democratic voter turnout.

Under the leadership of Miles, The Alliance will be reaching out to partner and work with all the various constituency organizations and allied groups, in the Texas Democratic Party, to maximize strategic deployment of assets, resources and investments in the Coalition’s effort to (Re)Turn Texas Blue.

Chairman Robinson said, “TCBD greatly appreciates Melanie Miles’ commitment to helping the Coalition and other Texas Black PACs secure the resources necessary to help elect Black Democrats and grow Black voter turnout to help elect Democrats all across Texas in 2022 and 2024.”

If you are interested in donating to or partnering and working with the Texas Alliance of Black PACs, please contact Melanie Miles at TABPACs@gmail.com.

The Texas Coalition of Black Democrats is a political organization and we must always remember that politics is a means to an end. Our end goals must include ending poverty, hunger, homelessness, race-based health disparities, the racial wealth-income-and education gaps. Eliminating food deserts, public transportation and infrastructure inequity, as well as environmental injustices, must also be priorities of the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats.

"The last time Melanie ran for office she did so as a Republican. Even still while running for the judicial bench as a Republican, her ex-husband, Democrat State Senator Borris L. Miles did everything he could to help her. However, straight-ticket voting and a few other factors killed any hopes she had of defeating Sandra Peake. However, now that Melanie Wilcox Miles is a Democrat, I believe that she would be hard to beat in a 2022 Democratic Party Primary race if she chooses to throw her name in the hat.."

The “Sisterhood Series” Features 70 Powerful Texas Women You Should Know Who Are Doing Their Own Thing

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

I would like to take this moment to introduce our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” to you. This empowerment movement is being launched to highlight a few powerful Texas women who are doing their own thing in legal, political, and public relations fields throughout the Lone Star State. Now, while this powerful group of women is being brought to you as a corporate body, our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” should not be misconstrued as identity/gender politics in any way, shape, or form. Why? Well, all of the featured women in this series are (in their own unique way) some of the best and brightest women in America. So, recognizing these women as part of our SISTERHOOD SERIES” is our way of applauding each of them for their courage, tenacity, and ability to compete in what has traditionally been a man’s world.

TRUTH OF THE MATTER

If we’re honest with ourselves, we all know that women are still fighting an uphill battle in politics as well as inside boardrooms across America. So, let's not forget – it wasn’t long ago that women were guaranteed the right to vote. In case you don’t know, the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote was only the beginning of a much longer fight that women are continuing to fight on the campaign trail, in board rooms, and while living their everyday lives.

A VERY UNIQUE BOND

Each segment of our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” will highlight a “FEATURED SPONSOR” on the cover, and sixty-nine sitting incumbent Democratic and Republican members of the judiciary inside. So, as a community of women, each of the sixty-nine women featured as the “BODY OF THE SERIES” are linked together by their common successes in the rough and tumble world of Texas politics. Now, you can bet your bottom dollar, that some of these women will be endorsed by Houston Business Connections Newspaper©, in 2022 and 2024 “ELECTION GUIDES” when they appear on the ballot. However, unfortunately, some of these women will not make the cut. So, please do not forget that the deadline to run for political office in the “2022 MIDTERM ELECTIONS” is on Monday, December 13, 2021, in Texas. And, if you are a woman or man who is planning to run for office in 2022, you must sign up by Monday, December 13, 2021, at 6:00 pm. So, if you are not sure, what position you should run for in the Democratic Party Primary or Republican Party Primary, please call (281)788-3033, and I will try to assist you in any way I can.

MINISTERS OF JUSTICE

Every judge in America takes an oath of office and solemnly swears that they will administer justice without respect to persons and that they will do equal right to the poor and to the rich alike. So, the “MINISTERS OF JUSTICE” you see listed below, have all promised to faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon them under the United States Constitution and the laws that govern us as a free nation when they were elected. And each of them did so before the LORD God Almighty. Now, that being said, nowhere in their promise was their political party affiliation, sorority, socio-economic status, or ethnicity mentioned. So, let’s do our best going forward, to elect the “BEST AND BRIGHTEST” women and men who are committed to handing out even-handed justice to every person who enters their courtroom.

Nominating the Wrong Candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" Could Have Disastrous Consequences in the November 2022 General Election in Harris County

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Make no mistake about it, who the people of Harris County, Texas choose to give another term to in 2022 must be about substance, job performance, judicial temperament, competence, and whether or not our members of the judiciary are following the law with their rulings. And that being said, in 2022, it is incumbent upon the voters of Harris County to evaluate the job performance of each and every sitting "ELECTED OFFICIAL" on a case-by-case basis and not as a group based on their political party affiliation, ethnicity, or gender.

THINKING ABOUT RUNNING?

If you are a candidate planning to run for office in 2022, you have to select the right candidate to run against. And the second most important thing to understand is that you have to select your race early, to avoid ending up in a crowded field of candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" in Harris County, Texas. So, if you need assistance trying to determine which race to enter, please call (281)788-3033, and I will do my very best to answer any questions you may have.
