Judge DaSean Jones’s Legal Team of Downtown Oliver Brown, Mimi, and Joaquin Gonzalez are Standing Strong

Did you know that, besides Judge DaSean Jones serving as the presiding judge for the 180th Criminal District Court Judge, he was appointed as a USAR Military Judge in 2022 and currently serves as the only African American male serving in this capacity across all five military branches, which includes the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard. SOLID LEGAL TEAM...Mimi (far left) and Attorney Joaquin Gonzalez (third from left) did a stellar job representing Judge DaSean Jones at his Thursday, January 30, 2025, appeals hearing in the 1st Court of Appeals. "Downtown" Oliver Brown handled the heavy lifting for Judge DaSean Jones during the trial phase (CLICK HERE) Please take a moment to listen to the "ORAL ARGUMENTS" for yourself.

Judge DaSean Jones is the presiding judge for the 180th Criminal District Court in Harris County, Texas. He recently shared a message of gratitude on FACEBOOK, thanking members of his legal team. NOTE: The thoughts of Judge DaSean Jones are his and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts or opinions of any Aubrey R. Taylor Communications, advertisers, sponsors, or readers.

"A Message of Gratitude."

"To my exceptional legal team—Joaquin, Mimi, and Oliver—your intellect, dedication, and commitment have been truly commendable. Each of you played an indispensable role in safeguarding justice and ensuring fairness remains more than an ideal.

Joaquin, your mastery of the law is matched only by your eloquence. Your ability to dissect complex issues and present them with clarity, conviction, and persuasion is a rare gift. You command the room, weaving precedent and argument into a compelling narrative. Mimi, your meticulous research and strategic acumen have been the foundation of this fight. Your keen analysis and precision in crafting legal arguments have strengthened every position we’ve taken.

Oliver, in the intensity of trial, you bore the responsibility of preserving errors and keeping the case on solid footing. As with any great contest, missteps are inevitable—but they are the cost of true engagement. As Theodore Roosevelt said in The Man in the Arena, “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena… who errs, who comes short again and again because there is no effort without error and shortcoming.” You stood firm, met challenges head-on, and laid the groundwork for what comes next.

This case extends beyond a single legal battle—it reflects the broader fight for equity, due process, and the preservation of judicial integrity. Civil rights champions have long understood that justice is not passively granted; it is actively defended. When the law is wielded by those with both skill and principle, it becomes a force for meaningful change.

To my attorneys—your insight, perseverance, and tireless pursuit of justice will leave a lasting impact. It has been an honor to stand alongside such formidable advocates. My gratitude is immeasurable. May God bless you all."

Judge DaSean Jones’s Legal Team of Downtown Oliver Brown, Mimi, and Joaquin Gonzalez are Standing Strong

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

What’s insane about Tami C. Pierce continuing her election contest is that even if she beats Lieutenant Colonel Judge DaSean Jones on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, she won’t even get to serve a full term as the presiding judge for the 180th Criminal District Court.

Why not?

I have fielded three phone calls from Republican attorneys interested in running against Tami C. Pierce (Republican) if she defeats Judge DaSean Jones on May 3rd. Why?

Many of the Republicans I’ve spoken with believe that Tami C. Pierce is a (RINO) “Republican in Name Only.” They don’t like that Tami C. Pierce has been married to her wife/husband, Dr. Stephanie L. Gross-Pierce, and they’re just now learning that the two women have been married for more than 22 years.

To make matters worse for Tami C. Pierce, MAGA “Make America Great Again” legislators in Idaho are going after gay marriage. Nope. I’m not joking.

Last Monday, the Idaho House of Representatives asked the U.S. Supreme Court to step in and overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, the landmark case from 2015 that led to legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide in America.

If the United States Supreme Court takes up the challenge and does what the Idaho House wants it to do, we could see the ending of gay marriage in America.

Like it or not, President Donald J. Trump’s stance on gay marriage is clear. The fact that Tami C. Pierce is running as a Republican against Lieutenant Colonel Judge DaSean Jones, a Democrat, who is also a “DOUBLE-BRONZE STAR,” decorated combat veteran, is not going to bode well for Pierce.

The tumultuous political climate in America right now is going to make it extremely difficult for Tami C. Pierce to build the type of coalition she’s going to need to defeat a decorated combat veteran like Lieutenant Colonel DaSean Jones, which is why should not put herself and her wife/husband (Dr. Stephanie L. Gross-Pierce), though what lies ahead for them.

In my opinion, MAGA “Make America Great Again” voters are going to be very upset if the Harris County Republican Party continues to keep quiet and runs Tami Pierce out there without telling them that she’s a member of the “LGBTQ+ Community,” who is running as the Republican candidate for the 180th Criminal District court – that’s a fact.

TAMI HAS A TOUGH ROAD AHEAD…

For the life of me, I cannot understand how people cannot see that Judge DaSean Jones and other “BLACK JUDGES” have found themselves targets. I’m not sure why all (21) twenty-one of the other cases brought by “GOP CANDIDATES” got dropped, but the election challenge against Judge DaSean Jones is still hanging over his head.

I love Tami C. Pierce, the “LGBTQ+ Judicial Candidate,” who decided to cross the political aisle and challenge Judge DeSean Jones by running as a Republican. I have nothing against Tami C. Pierce or her wife/husband, Dr. Stephanie Gross-Pierce, but I do against the people advising her to continue her lawsuit.

I’m not a lawyer and don’t pretend to be, but I can reason and research. Beyond that, I sat in the courtroom during the Tami C. Pierce vs. DaSean Jones trial and was a little puzzled when Judge David Peeople ruled in favor of Pierce and ordered a new election.

When Judge David Peeples determined that 1,430 illegal votes had been cast in the 180th Criminal District Court race during the 2022 Midterm Election and that deciding which candidate received the supposed 1,430 illicit ballots was impossible, I was left speechless.

Really? We’re going to toss out the 1,068,471 votes and order a new election – is what I thought to myself. None of this makes sense to me, and I probably never will.

I didn’t hear anyone claim that Judge DaSean Jones (himself) had done anything wrong, and I mean nobody. But here we are, and with Judge Peeples’ ruling in favor of the Plaintiff, Tami Pierce, she was due to receive a judgment of $65,000.00 from Judge DaSean Jones as of May 15th, 2024. Still, since Judge Judge Jones appealed Peeples’ ruling, Judge Jones’ potential payout has ballooned exponentially.

On Tami C. Pierce’s Campaign Finance report filed on 7/15/2024, her “UNPAID LEGAL EXPENSES” incurred between 1/01/2024 and 6/30/2024, she owed $141,808.57 to McGinnis Lockridge, LLP, for legal services connected to her election challenge.

In her most recent Campaign Finance report, filed by Tami C. Pierce on 1/08/2025, she incurred another $70,847.30 in “UNPAID LEGAL EXPENSES,” owed to McGinnis Lockridge, LLP, which she incurred between 7/01/2024 and 12/31/2024, in connection to her election challenge lawsuit against Judge DaSean Jones.

I don’t know; there’s gotta be something here that I don’t see. Tami C. Pierce now owes McGinnis Lockridge, LLP, an unpaid amount for legal expenses totaling $212,655.87, which must be by Judge DaSean Jones if he loses his appeals, which I am sure will go all the way to the Texas Supreme Court – if need be.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT…

Judge DaSean Jones nearly lost his life twice in combat fighting to protect America’s interests abroad. That said, it would be a travesty for Americans from all walks of life not to stand in the gap for Lieutenant Colonel Judge DaSean Jones on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025.

Listen! Lieutenant Colonel DaSean Jones has TWO BRONZE STAR MEDALS, a Combat Action Badge, a Meritorious Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism, a Global War Expeditionary, an Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (10LC), an Overseas Ribbon, Korea Defense Service Medal, Overseas Training Ribbon, a National Defense Service Ribbon, and a Parachute Badge to his credit, and that’s just to name a few of his accolades.

Judge DaSean Jones is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps. However, please do not take my informing you of this fact to mean that the military endorses him.

Tami C. Pierce (left) and her wife/husband, Dr. Stephanie L. Gross-Pierce, have a loving marital relationship that they've shared for more than 22 years. For the most part, before Tami C. Pierce threw her hat into the political ring, she and her wife Stephanie lived a quiet, peaceful life, staying to themselves and out of politics. However, today, a small group of (DINOs), "Democrats in Name Only," and (RINOs), "Republicans in Name Only," have allied themselves together and embraced Tami C. Pierce's campaign for the 180th Criminal District Court as part of a grander scheme to purge "BLACK JUDGES" from local judicial benches in Harris County, Texas. Kay Shepard, who is suspected of being a closet member of the "LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY," is acting as the 'attack dog' for Mike Doyle, the chairman of the Harris County Democratic Party, who also favors "LGBTQ+ WOMEN AND MEN," over "HETEROSEXUAL MEN AND WOMEN," as proven by his recent actions. It appears that Kay Shepard, in her twisted mind and vexed spirit, believes that she is helping her fellow "LGBTQ+ SISTERS"  and a more significant cause by working to defeat Lieutenant Colonel Judge DaSean Jones. By definition, a heterosexual person is someone who is exclusively sexually or romantically attracted to someone of the opposite sex; after having her sexual advances allegedly rebuffed by State Rep. Shawn Thierry at an event, Kay Shepard began to attack her (State Rep. Thierry) profusely and oppose her politically as well.

General Merrick Garland chose Judge Erica Hughes to serve as an Immigration Judge, where she will preside over cases beginning in January 2022. In addition to this new role, Judge Erica Hughes has been an esteemed member of the U.S. Army National Guard of Texas in Austin since 2016, serving as a Judge Advocate. On January 1, 2025, Judge Erica Hughes, after being called an animal by an "LGBTQ ATTORNEY." named Ben L. Aderholt and unqualified by fellow judges from within her own party, will take the bench as the presiding judge for the 151st Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas. Judge Erica Hughes is pictured above with State Rep. Jolanda Jones (HD-147) and Judge DaSean Jones, the presiding judge for the 180th Criminal District Court.

Judge Lashawn Williams, Judge Angela Graves Harrington, Judge Shannon Baldwin, Judge Tonya Jones, and Judge Toria J. Finch will be in the fight of their political lives as Democrats are already contemplating challenging the (26) twenty-six "AFRICAN AMERICAN JUDGES" who are up for re-election in the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election for Harris County, Texas. However, I'm not sure why so many potential candidates are seeking to run against the (26) twenty-six African American incumbent judges when there will be (68) sixty-eight local benches up for grabs in the 2026 Midterm Election in Harris County, Texas.
