Democrats are Racking Up Endorsements from the Houston Chronicle
Editorial Board in the 2024 Presidential Election
AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©
In my nearly 35 years of watching the Houston Chronicle
Editorial Board do their thing, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen them endorse
this many “DEMOCRATIC NOMINEES” this early in their endorsement screenings.
With only one major daily newspaper in Houston, Texas, the endorsements
of the Houston Chronicle Editorial Board are highly coveted and sought after by
candidates on both sides of the political aisle for apparent reasons. However,
while their endorsement is valuable, over the past few election cycles, it has
been a hit–and–miss thing.
While the people who have earned the Houston Chronicle
endorsement already for the forthcoming Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Presidential
Election have a lot to be proud of – in many regards, they should guard
themselves and not become too overconfident.
One critical problem with the Houston Chronicle's endorsements is that the Houston Chronicle Editorial Board releases them sporadically and haphazardly, confusing many subscribers like me.
You never know when an endorsement will be released, forcing subscribers to repeatedly return to their website to see who will earn the subsequent endorsement. While this is good for views and clicks, it’s cumbersome and tiring.
Another problem is that their “Editorial Board’sEndorsements” are hidden behind a “PAY-WALL,” and non-subscribers can’t see who
they’ve endorsed, which lessens the effectiveness and power of their endorsements
in the grand scheme of things.

“LOCAL ATTORNEYS.”
If you look at the “JUDICIAL MATCHUPS” below that featuring duly
qualified African American “DEMOCRAT JUDICIAL NOMINEES” and their “REPUBLICAN
OPPONENTS,” you will quickly see that local attorneys and law firms are heavily
favoring “INCUMBENT DEMOCRAT JUDGES” and their fellow nominees over their Republican
rivals in Harris County, Texas.
Many local law firms have “THE FRIENDLY INCUMBENCY RULE” and
other measures and programs where they support local judges by donating to
their reelection bids and potential nominees they believe will make great
judges. With this in mind, regional law firms, like the Houston Chronicle “EDITORIALBOARD,” appear to be hedging their bet on Democrats.
We're embarking on the most critical two-week span of our lives. Early voting will begin on Monday, October 21, 2024, and end on Friday, November 5, 2024. If you can't vote early, please make it your business to "STEP AND STROLL" your way to the polls on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in Harris County, Texas. And if you happen to live in Fort Bend County, State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27) is strongly encouraging you to "STEP AND STROLL YOUR WAY TO THE POLLS" and vote Democrat all the way through your ballot.
