I’ve been keeping a close eye on Rhonda Skillern-Jones, Carol Mims Galloway, and Paula Harris for many years. What a lot of folks don’t know about me, is that I’ve been monitoring public and private corruption in Harris County, Texas since the 1990s. Yes, I’ve got a lot of stories to tell, and they date back all the way to 1991 when Sylvester Turner ran for Mayor of the City of Houston for the first time. I know the dark secrets that folks don’t want to be told. And I also know the methods that “POLITICAL POWER PLAYERS” have used over the years to steal local elections.
For the record, Carol Mims Galloway, Rhonda Skillern-Jones, and Paula Harris have been thick as thieves for several decades. Yes, I said that!!! And with that said, it’s high time for the Black community to “WAKE UP” and stop allowing people like Carol Mims Galloway and Rhonda Skillern-Jones to do their dirt, and then run to another “ELECTED POSITION” of public trust and do the same thing all over again.

Yesterday, Saturday, June 11, 2022, Carol Mims Galloway, an 80-plus-year-old, former Houston City Councilwoman for District B, who also served as the HISD School Board Trustee, put me on notice in a text message that stated, “Putting you on notice, my husband I will be sending a mail ballot for the race in November.” She went on to say, “We also will be voting all democrats!”
Now, did you notice what she did? She’s taking a fight that’s between her and me, and trying to make it between me and “THE ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PARTY” in the upcoming Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Midterm Election. Did you catch that? This woman is as crafty as they come.
Anyways, this “CROOKED POLITICIAN” went on to state, “So, if this supposed to be some sort of intimidation tactic against democrats for your payoff republicans, it want (should have been won’t) offend no one.”
Now, on do you see what she’s trying to do? Carol Mims Galloway and dirty politicians like Rhonda Skillern-Jones are masters at hiding behind the shield of the Democratic Party. So, just for the record, my fight is not against “THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY” or “THE GOOD DEMOCRATS” that I love and admire. Who am I fighting against? I’m fighting against dirty politicians like Carol Mims Galloway, Rhonda Skillern-Jones, and Paula Harris. Why? Well, I’m exposing people like these folks, because they’re making my entire race look corrupt. And if they’re allowed to continue doing their dirty work, it’s going to become next to impossible for any African American to be elected to a countywide position in Harris County, Texas in the year 2026, in my opinion.

A CLOSER LOOK AT MIMS-GALLOWAY
Carol Mims Galloway has been ‘rumored to be corrupt’ from her very first day in public office to her last day serving on the (HISD) School Board as the trustee for District II. For the record, Carol Mims Galloway served on the HISD School Board for more than a decade. According to the HISD website, she was elected to a third term on the board in 2007, and she’d also served on the board for two prior terms between 1991 and 1998. However, for the purpose of this report, I’m going to focus on a few local elections where Carol Mims Galloway played ball.
2007 HISD DISTRICT II RUNOFF
Back on Saturday, December 8, 2007, Carol Mims Galloway received 492 absentee mail ballots, after only having received 303 absentee mail ballots in the general election. And Michael Yarbrough ended up receiving 401 absentee mail ballots after only having received 311 absentee mail ballots in the general election. After all the votes were cast, Carol Mims Galloway ended up receiving 1,611 votes for 59.23% of the vote, and Michael Yarbrough only received 1,109 votes for 40.77% of the vote.
2007 HISD DISTRICT II RACE
Back on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, Carol Mims Galloway was on the ballot running for (HISD) Trustee for District II against Larry Williams, Michael Yarbrough, Charles McCloud, and Reginald Adams. Please pay special attention to the fact that Carol Mims Galloway only received 303 absentee mail ballots, Michael Yarbrough only received 311 absentee mail ballots, Larry Williams only received 159 absentee mail ballots, Charles McCloud only received 132 absentee mail ballots, and Reginald Adams only received 13 absentee mail ballots. That being said, Carol Mims Galloway ended up receiving 3,192 votes for 37.67% of the vote, and Michael Yarbrough ended up receiving 2,177 votes for 25.69% of the vote heading into their Saturday, December 08, 2007 runoff.
2007 DISTRICT B CITY COUNCIL RACE
Back on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, in the Houston City Council District B Election, Carol Mims Galloway was not present on the ballot. Jarvis Johnson was running for re-election and being challenged by Kenneth Perkins. So, just for the record, Jarvis Johnson only received 550 absentee mail ballots, and Kenneth Perkins only received 182 absentee mail ballots. Now, remember, Carol Mims Galloway received an astonishing 1,551 absentee mail ballots back in 2005 when she was running for re-election. That being said, Jarvis Johnson went on to defeat Kenneth Perkins and win his bid for re-election.
THE 2007 MAIL BALLOT RETURNS
Make a special note that only 732 absentee mail ballots were received between Jarvis Johnson and Kenneth Perkins in the Tuesday, November 6, 2007, Houston City Council District B race. And only 719 absentee mail ballots were cast in the Tuesday, November 8, 2005, Houston City Council District B race. Now, don’t forget that Carol Mims Galloway received an astonishing 1,551 absentee mail ballots back during the Tuesday, November 4, 2003, Houston City Council District B race.
2005 DISTRICT B CITY COUNCIL RACE
Back on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, in the Houston City Council District B Election, Carol Mims Galloway was not present on the ballot. However, her daughter, Felicia Galloway-Hall was on the ballot running against Jarvis Johnson, the son of Cleo Glenn Johnson, Willie J. Hunter, Tommie Ruth Allen, Anna Gray, Charles A. Ingram, Angle S. Bush, and Robin German-Curtis. So, just for the record, Jarvis Johnson went on to defeat Carol Mims Galloway’s daughter Felicia Galloway-Hall in a runoff election back during the 2005 Houston City Council District B runoff election.

Make a special note that during the Tuesday, November 8, 2005, race for Houston City Council District B, Jarvis Johnson only received 287 absentee mail ballots, Felicia Galloway-Hall only received 236 absentee mail ballots, Tommy Ruth Allen only received 65 absentee mail ballots, Willie J. Hunter only received 42 absentee mail ballots, Charles A. Ingram only received 40 absentee mail ballots, Robin German-Curtis only received 35 absentee mail ballots, and Anna Gray only received 10 absentee mail ballots, and Angle S. Bush only received 4 absentee mail ballots. So, all total, there were only a total of 719 absentee ballots cast in the 2005 City of Houston District B General Election. However, in the previous election in 2003, Carol Mims Galloway received an astonishing 1,551 absentee mail ballots.
2003 DISTRICT B CITY COUNCIL RACE
Back on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, Carol Mims Galloway defeated Lenard Polk and John (Noot) Johnson in her bid for re-election. For the record, Carol Mims Galloway received 1,551 absentee mail ballots, Lenard Polk only received 167 absentee mail ballots, and John (Noot) Johnson only received 74 absentee mail ballots. So, in essence, the District B City Council race back in 2003 was decided by the large number of “ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOTS” that Carol Mims Galloway was able to compile en route to her landslide victory. Carol Mims Galloway ended up receiving a total of 23,360 votes for 86.57% of the vote. Lenard Polk received 2,308 votes for 8.55% of the vote. And John (Noot) Johnson only received 1,316 votes for 4.88% of the vote.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE 2003 RACE
Back during the 2003 Joint City of Houston Election, there were 113,660 registered voters living in District B, so even though Carol Mims Galloway won the election by garnering 23,360 votes, an astonishing 90,300 of the registered voters living in this “HISTORICALLY BLACK CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT” did not even bother to vote Carol Mims Galloway.
2001 DISTRICT B CITY COUNCIL RACE
Back on Tuesday, November 6, 2001, Carol Mims Galloway defeated Cleo Glenn-Johnson and Kurtce Cole in the race for the open Houston City Council District B seat. Carol Mims Galloway received 16,853 votes for 65.42% of the vote, Cleo Glenn-Johnson received 7,446 votes for 28.90% of the vote, and Kurtce Cole received 1,464 votes for 5.68% of the vote.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE 2001 RACE
Back during the 2001 Joint City of Houston Election, there were 118,216 registered voters living in District B, so even though Carol Mims Galloway won the election by garnering 16,853 votes, an astonishing 101,363 of the registered voters living in this “HISTORICALLY BLACK CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT” did not even bother to vote Carol Mims Galloway.

Charlene Ward Johnson graduated from the University of Houston in 1991 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Technology. She received her Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management with a Specialization in Public Administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus in May 2021. Charlene's entry into corporate America turned into a 25+ year career in the energy and customer service industry.
Charlene is deeply committed to increasing collaborations with corporate America and the community. It is her belief that in addition to government entities, corporations and industries also have a responsibility to provide tangible services to the communities in which they thrive.
Charlene spends a lot of time volunteering for community service activities and events. She serves on several community boards. She serves as Vice President of the Greater Houston Frontiers, President of her neighborhood’s Civic Club, and is the President of University of Houston Black Alumni Association. As President of the Black Alumni, Charlene has increased the association’s brand awareness, community projects, and student engagement. She also serves as a Board Member on the University of Houston Alumni Foundation, where she chairs the Public Affairs Committee. She previously served on the Gulf Coast Community Association Board.
Charlene is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Top Ladies of Distinction-Humble Intercontinental Chapter, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Volunteer Committee.
Charlene has over 25 years of experience in the electric utility and customer service industry and is currently the Claims Manager in the Legal Department of an energy company.
She volunteers, fundraises, and organizes numerous community events designed to enrich the lives of the people in the community. She is successful with philanthropic endeavors for charities such as the Gulf Coast Community Association, American Heart Association, March of Dimes, United Negro College Fund, Junior Achievement, the Texas Black Expo, Kids Meals, to name a few. Kathy was born in Houston she was raised by her parents that were from Natchitoches, LA. She grew up in the Baptist Church and was baptized at the early age of 11 years old. She graduated from Kashmere Senior High School in 1981.
Kathy went to college in Waco, TX, and received her first degree in Business Administration at Paul Quinn College (PQC). She became a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in 1983. She also became Miss Senior representing “PQC” in her graduating year of 1985 and was the first member of her family to obtain a college degree. Kathy moved back to Houston in 1986 and obtain her teaching certification at University of Houston and a master’s degree in education administration at University of St. Thomas.
Kathy Gunter worked as a reading teacher, registrar, and vocational teacher in several school districts in the Houston area. The districts include North Forest ISD, Aldine ISD, Houston ISD, and Windham School District.

The fight for Texas is going to be fierce. And believe it or not, Deirdre Gilbert, a “RISING POLITICAL STAR” is actually “IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT” right now. How? Well, with polls Gov. Greg Abbott (Republican) with a sizable lead over Beto O’Rourke (Democrat), in the Lone Star State. So, no matter how you look at it, Deirdre Gilbert running as an "INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE" for Governor of Texas on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, is going to cause some serious problems in urban areas across the State of Texas -- especially since there won't be any straight-ticket voting.
MEET DEIRDRE GILBERT
Deirdre Gilbert has earned her M.A. in Educational Administration, and her B.S. in Political Science and Mass Communication (Cum Laude) from Prairie View A&M University; she is a native Houstonian, a graduate of the public school system attending elementary, middle, and high school graduating from Madison high. Deirdre has resided in Harris County for over 40 years before settling in Fort Bend County for over 10 years. Deirdre is an educator with 26 years of experience working in Houston, Aldine, and Fort Bend School Districts and is a former Houston Independent School District teacher’s union representative.
Her mother was a key influence in her life. She was a community activist and the first black woman to run for Constable in Harris County. Deirdre is best known in the community and around the country for her fight, both personally and publicly, for justice for those of medical negligence. After losing her only child, Jocelyn, because of medical negligence, Deirdre confronted the medical community and the state agencies that support it. She stood not only for herself and in memory of her daughter, but on behalf of people around the state and across the country who have felt powerless in the wake of such devastating loss.
Deirdre has worked tirelessly in her own community of Sienna Plantation, further, she’s worked on issues such as denial of voting rights in local elections within Missouri City, and MUD District issues. She has spoken before the Texas Legislature and U.S. Congress in Washington D.C on civil rights. Deirdre has helped to shape legislation regarding whistleblowers, medical malpractice, and education. Deirdre is not afraid of a battle and is willing to speak for those who are unable to speak for themselves. In addition to helping those in her community, state, local and national, she also works for a non-profit that helps veterans find employment.
Deirdre has been capturing the attention of media nationally for some time. In 2007, she released her first book entitled, “Can I Just Have a Little Bit? A Little Bit of What?” Her recent work, “Momma Help Me Please,” was inspired by the first love of her life, her daughter Jocelyn.
Deirdre is an avid speaker at book clubs, churches, and professional, civic, and community organizations.
She has been featured in Beautifully Said Magazine and African American Newspaper; mentioned in Harper’s Magazine by Ralph Nader a strong advocate for justice, received professional recognition in Women on the Move section of the Houston Business Journal, and featured in Bronze Magazine several times and in Saved Magazine along with other powerful women in ministry such as Joyce Meyers. Deirdre was mentioned in Washington Post, Stat News, and several online publications regarding her stance on medical malpractice. This journey has led to the first Blog Talk Show “Life” Radio Show that focused on “victims” of medical malpractice and then rebranded with another show called “Med/Mal Radio Show-What’s Your Verdict and just recently Malpractice Diaries-MD –We Tell the Secrets they Keep.
Since 2011, Deirdre Gilbert has not backed down from her challenges, founding non-profits such as the National Medical Malpractice Advocacy Association (NMMAA), serving as its National Director, and Executive Director of the Jocelyn Y. Dickson Foundation. NMMAA is a non-partisan educational organization that was created to promote transparency, accountability and integrity in the medical profession. Through NMMAA’s educational endeavor, she advocates high standards of ethics and morality to ensure non-abuse of the powers entrusted to the profession by the American people. Under her direction, these non-profits have gained support from members of Congress, garnered attention and recognition among state lawmakers, and sparked open dialogue and inquiry into medical negligence. With her husband of 7 years, Mr. Kurt E. Gilbert, beside her, she has spoken boldly before Medical Boards, Government Agencies, the State Legislature, and the US Congress calling for repeal of TORT Reforms, review of the Information Act as it relates to medical doctors, greater accountability in the hospital industry, and Justice for All who fall victim to healthcare abuse. The core of her message is consistent, Justice for All.
Deirdre achieved a milestone twice, first when she was asked to speak at the Whistleblower’s Summit in Washington, DC 2016, and again in 2019 when she provided testimony at the Senate Judiciary Committee Hearings about the devastating effects of medical malpractice. She has spearheaded the nation’s 1st Medical Malpractice Conference that convened medical professionals, attorneys, civil rights leaders, social justice organizations, patient safety advocates, and legislative leaders. Her third milestone was when she threw her hat in the political ring and decided to run for Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2, Fort Bend County, TX. Deirdre assisted with having H.R. 614 resolution filed in the Texas Legislature, recognizing Medical Malpractice in the State of Texas. In addition, Deirdre created a new initiative, “The Medical Malpractice Right to Justice Project’s mission to assist those harmed by medical negligence and whose cases were never heard in a court of law, to bring these cases before a court based on evidence ranging from misstated/understated or erroneous death certificates, misstated/understated/overstated or erroneous expert reports, altered or falsified medical records, the existence of individual, hospital, physician, and institutional agencies conflict of interest.
Deirdre Gilbert was instrumental in getting the 1st proclamation in 2013 recognizing July as Medical Malpractice Month. Since then, the organization has been given recognition from the State of Missouri’s Governor Jeremiah W. Nixon, the State of Colorado’s Governor John Hickenlooper, and the State of Georgia’s Governor Nathan Deal. The organization has also received several congressional, state, and local recognition. Deirdre created the first PSA that aired on Harkins movie screens across the states in September 2016, promoting and educating the public on “Preventable Medical Mistakes.” In 2019 NMMAA received the 1st Enrolled House Resolution 86 (R) HR 614 by the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas Legislature recognizing July as Medical Malpractice Month.
Deirdre Gilbert was vital in the creation of the first chapter of attorneys in the State of Louisiana and Virginia that have acquired lobbyist that handles the legislative needs of NMMAA. The lobbying action is geared toward bill drafting and legislative reform to help those harmed by egregious acts of medical malpractice.
Deirdre has worked tirelessly with The Government Accountability Project, The Black Heritage Society, Greater Houston Coalition for Justice, Make It Safe Campaign, The National Association for Probate Reform & Advocacy, NAACP-Health Chair Committee Missouri City Chapter, NAACP-Fort Bend-Wharton Chapter, National Action Network to create the first medical malpractice health initiative, National Congress of Black Women, State of Texas Sunset Advisory Committee.
DEIRDRE GILBERT: "The message is that "VOTER FRAUD" is not going on, and that is far from the truth. January 6th happened, but that's not the story. At the end of the day, the judicial races are the most important races on the ballot. That said, who we allow to put on that black robe and occupy judicial benches (especially in Harris County, Texas) matters a great deal. Over the years, through straight-ticket voting, and folks going into the polls playing "Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe" we've allowed a few bad folks to slip through the cracks. Now, I'm not trying to play party politics in any way, shape, or form, with my words. All I'm trying to say is that nobody is perfect, but if we make it our goal to elevate people who fear God and have a backbone into positions of authority, every one of us will be afforded the opportunity to live our best life.
