Polling Data Shows Vice President Kamala Harris Closing Gap on Trump; Harris Will Shake Up Down-Ballot Races

If the 2024 Presidential race comes down to a contest between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, millions of Americans will not decide on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Instead, a few thousand people living in "KEY BATTLEGROUND STATES" like Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada will ultimately decide. However, the Harris County Democratic Party Chairman, Mike Doyle, and the Harris County Republican Party Chairman, Cindy Siegel, had better get their "COORDINATED CAMPAIGN" up and going because down-ballot races in Harris County, Texas, have fallen into "TOSS-UP" as Vice President Kamala Harris has energized local Democrats. Judge Isreal Garcia has been vetted and approved by HBC Newspaper© in the race for Harris County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 5, Place 1, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Judge Israel Garcia and his beautiful wife are strongly encouraging all registered voters in Harris County, Texas, to scroll all the way down the ballot "VOTING BLUE" in every race between the Presidential race at the top of the ticket and his race, which is one of the last races at the bottom of the ticket. Remember, Harris County, Texas, has the longest ballot in America. You can "CLICK HERE" to identify a few other candidates endorsed by HBC Newspaper© in down-ballot Harris County, Texas races.

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "Early voting will begin on Monday, October 21, 2024, and end on Friday, November 1, 2024, for the upcoming Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Presidential Election. It is incumbent upon us to make it our business to select the best candidate available in every down-ballot race."

Polling Data Shows Vice President Kamala Harris Closing Gap on Trump; Harris Will Shake Up Down-Ballot Races in Texas

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Americans should realize that the presidential race between the presumptive Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Trump is different from before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

Since President Biden dropped out of the race, Vice President Kamala Harris has coalesced support from Democratic leadership and even gained the support of some Republicans. Former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, a lifelong Republican, who’d previously announced that he would vote for President Joe Biden over former President Donald Trump, is now signaling that he will vote for Vice President Harris over Trump if she gains the Democratic nomination.

Other Republicans, like Tom Cotton, Lindsey Graham, and Ron DeSantis, have called Vice President Harrs a “DANGEROUS LIBERAL,” among other things. Cotton is a United States Senator from Arkansas, Graham is a United States Senator from South Carolina, and DeSantis is the Governor of Florida.

“FOCUS DOWN-BALLOT.”

National polling won’t dictate what will happen in Harris County, Texas. A close look at turnout models from previous “PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS” shows that Vice President Kamala Harris, if she gains the nomination, will give “DOWN-BALLOT DEMOCRATS” a much-needed boost in Harris County.

Before President Biden abandoned his re-election bid, down-ballot Democrats in Harris County would have “BIG PROBLEMS” as the Harris County Republican Party had significantly closed the gap Democrats had enjoyed in the last few election cycles.

Still, the major problem I see in Harris County, Texas, is that the Harris County Democratic Party Chairman, Mike Doyle, and the Harris County Republican Party Chairman, Cindy Siegel, both seem content with continuing their “SUPER TUESDAY” primary strategies rather than using their down-ballot candidates as surrogates and encouraging them to reach out to minority demographics – primarily African Americans.

As mentioned above, having Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the Democratic ticket will increase the down-ballot energy in favor of Democrats no matter what’s happening on the national level.

Remember, Democrats lost four countywide races during the 2022 Midterm debacle. All countywide races lost by Democrats in 2022 included African American nominees running against Republican female nominees. And the tell-tale sign that Republicans would capture at least a few countywide seats should not have come as a surprise.

If you remember, during “THE MARCH 2022 PRIMARIES,” our “2022 POWER RANKINGS©” revealed that local uncontested Republicans running on their March 1, 2022, primary ballot had received between 132,000 and 144,000 votes as their primary voters scrolled down their ballots.

Comparative speaking, Democrats down-ballot candidates running uncontested during “THE MARCH 2022 PRIMARIES,” according to our “2022 POWER RANKINGS©,” on March 1, 2022, received between 134,000 and 144,000, which was an indication that Harris County races would be close on November 8, 2022, and our “2022 POWER-RANKINGS©” proved to be accurate – as four down-ballot Democrats (All African American), lost their races to the Republican rivals. One of the “BLACK FEMALE DEMOCRATS,” named Porsha Natasha Brown, lost her race by 267 votes.

“ENTER KAMALA.”

With President Joe Biden at the top of the ticket in Harris County, Texas, Democrats appeared lackadaisical and apathetic based on the turnout numbers from “SUPER TUESDAY” in March of 2024, which showed Democrats on the verge of possibly on the verge of losing at least a few down-ballot countywide races – due to low-voter turnout predictions. However, at least for now, Vice President Kamala Harris appears to have sparked interest in the upcoming Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Presidential Election that did not exist with Biden at the top of the ticket.

On “SUPER TUESDAY,” down-ballot uncontested Republican candidates averaged between 139,000 and 152,000 votes based on our “2024 POWER-RANKINGS©.” Down-ballot uncontested Democrats averaged 134,000 and 139,000 votes, indicating that Republicans were more energized than Democrats.

Before Democrats switched from Biden to Harris, local down-ballot Democrats headed toward a rough day on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, needed a jolt of energy, and they got one when Biden stepped aside.

Can Vice President Kamala Harris win the presidency? The answer will come on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. However, at least in Harris County, Texas, the down-ballot countywide races are toss-ups, and Kamala Harris has put every down-ballot race in play.

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”

Democratic leaders encourage Texans to “VOTE BLUE ALL THE WAY THROUGH.” I’m unsure what slogan the Republican leaders will use between now and Tuesday, November 5, 2024. However, “LABOR DAY,” which is Monday, September 2, 2024, is the date that typically marks the beginning of the stretch run to “ELECTION DAY” for Republicans in Texas, so stay tuned.

Dan Simons will run for Harris County District Attorney against Sean Teare on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in what is expected to be an extremely close race.

“MEET DAN SIMONS.”

Dan Simons was born and raised in Southeast Texas. His family was impoverished and lived through the struggle of poverty. During his childhood, there were times when he was homeless and had no choice but to live in cars or tents to survive. Dan constantly faced problems and chaos in his family, ultimately being placed in foster care at a young age. He has four brothers and one sister, none of whom ever graduated high school, much like his parents.

At twelve, seeking stability to graduate high school, he made the tough decision to move in with a family he met through the Salvation Army. Through sheer determination and hard work, he graduated at the top of his class and was named All-District Quarterback in his senior high school. Dan became the first person in his family to graduate from high school.

After graduating high school in 1996, he joined the United States Air Force to serve his country.

In 2005, he moved back to Texas, intending to further his education and become a lawyer. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2008 at the top of his class. He went on to attend the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, graduating Magna Cum Laude in December of 2011. He received his Masters in Tax Law from the University of Houston in 2013.

As Assistant District Attorney, Dan handled thousands of cases. He tried 29 Misdemeanor Jury Trials and had five acquittals; 13 Felony Jury Trials and had only one acquittal; and 26 Justice of the Peace Court and Jury Trials. Dan's total conviction rate was 84%.

As a Misdemeanor Chief in Criminal Court No. 14, Dan Simons reduced the docket by over 200 cases in less than four months — a 20% reduction that reduced the court's burden and saved the county costs. In early 2017, he left the DA’s Office to work in private practice.

In 2018, he started his practice, Dan Simons Law Firm, focusing on criminal cases in Harris County, Fort Bend County, and Montgomery County, Texas.

“THE RIGHT MAN.”

Harris County has enough politicians. We need a Harris County District Attorney who isn’t afraid of political party bosses. We need a truth-seeking prosecutor – not a politician.

We need someone committed to restoring public safety, trust, and peace of mind in Harris County, Texas; Dan Simons is the right man for the job.

We need a Harris County DA who will protect the people, respect them, and give victims the justice they deserve; Dan Simons fits the bill, in my opinion.

Dan Simons is committed to ensuring that business owners receive equal protection under the law, enabling local communities to thrive rather than merely survive.

We’ve got some innocent citizens getting charged and convicted of crimes they may not have committed. With an honest man like Dan Simons as the Harris County District Attorney, wrongful convictions will decrease significantly, while lawbreakers can expect to receive the punishment they deserve.

Moreover, we can’t do anything about the past, but with Dan Simons as our District Attorney, addressing mistakes expeditiously rather than hiding them – could serve as a much-needed foundation to rebuild trust in our criminal justice system.
