Some Democratic Leaders Are Out of Touch When It Comes to Addressing the Real Needs of Everyday African Americans

The Black community is continuing to fall behind every other ethnic group in America as we continue to re-elect "DO NOTHING POLITICIANS" like Congressman Al Green (left), the U.S. Representative for the 9th Congressional District of Texas, and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (center), the U.S. Representative for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. Why? Well, by continuing to allow the same ole' washed-up politicians (with their 1960s playbook) to remain in office, we're robbing ourselves of the ability to remain competitive, vibrant, attractive, and politically viable as a voting block in America. And above that, "PUBLIC SERVANTS" like Georgia D. Provost, who refuse to be controlled by the "DEMOCRATIC ESTABLISHMENT" are being 'unjustly' locked out of the political game.

Shauntay B. Favor, a local Democratic political activist, believes that it's time for Black Americans to adjust their thinking patterns when it comes to the way we are voting. In fact, even though she's a Democrat, Shauntay appears to agree with what Texas Governor Greg Abbott is doing when it comes to putting the illegals who are entering on a bus and sending them to Washington D.C. for the Biden Administration to see after them. "Abbott, seeking 900 busloads to DC, hopefully, they don't find their way back to Texas," she says.

"As a leader, you must always remember your decisions are not just about you. They impact those you lead," says National Urban League President Marc Morial. That being said, stating that “Factions of state and federal lawmakers, working in concert with shady political operatives and violent extremists, are dangerously close to dismantling American democracy and establishing autocratic rule,” is the wrong kind of rhetoric for the pivotal moment in American history. Marc Morial is flat-out wrong.

So-Called Democratic Leaders Are Out of Touch When It Comes to Addressing the Real Needs of Everyday African Americans

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

A couple of days ago, on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, the National Urban League released its “2022 STATE OF BLACK AMERICA” report. According to what I read, this particular report seemed to be framed as some sort of relaunch for us Black Americans to reclaim our vote. “Factions of state and federal lawmakers, working in concert with shady political operatives and violent extremists, are dangerously close to dismantling American democracy and establishing autocratic rule,” the report states.”

According to the National Urban League, we’re “UNDER SIEGE” in 2022. But don’t take my word for it. “The ”2022 STATE OF BLACK AMERICA” report put forth by the National Urban League goes on to state, “The National Urban League’s 2022 State of Black America® report, “Under Siege: The Plot to Destroy Democracy,” outlines the conspiracy and the urgent case for a national mobilization to protect and defend our most sacred constitutional right,” is what I found inside of this report.

UNDER SEIGE BY WHOM?

I agree with the National Urban League. Our democracy is under attack. But the big question in my mind is: “WHO’S ATTACKING US AS BLACK PEOPLE?” I get the logic behind what the National Urban League and other civil rights organizations are trying to do. However, at some point we must stop using scare tactics, to try and mobilize Black people. We must stop trying to “STOKE FEAR” into the hearts of Black and Brown people to control us. That being said, the 1960s playbook that is worn out and antiquated must be thrown away, as African Americans and Latinos evolve in terms of their thinking when it comes to politics and economics.

GOING TOO FAR TO THE LEFT

Do you remember back in 2015, when the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) was put up for a vote? If not, you may remember it being referred to as the “BATHROOM BILL.” The fight over whether, or not men would be allowed in women’s restrooms was fierce. Now, do you remember how Black women for the most part didn’t say a word publicly about “PROPOSITION ONE” before the Tuesday, November 3, 2015, general election? However, when the final votes were tallied, African American women in the City of Houston joined forces with the Conservatives who were pushing back against the referendum that would have allowed men to self-declare their “SEXUAL IDENTITY” and enter women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers on any given day. After the smoke cleared, 157,110 City of Houston residents vote to reject “THE BATHROOM BILL,” by a 60.97% to 39.03% margin.

HOW MANY BLACKS REALLY FEEL

When we fast forward to 2022, Democrats appear to be on the verge of making the same mistake on the issue of “TRANSGENDER WOMEN” being allowed to compete against “BIOLOGICAL FEMALES” in sports. How? Well, if you go to any sanctioned “USA TRACK & FIELD” event, or “AAU TRACK & FIELD” event on any given Saturday in Texas, and talk to Black parents, you would get a better understanding of how African Americans feel about the issue of boys competing against girls in sports. That being said, this is an issue that’s turning many Black parents off to the Democratic party. And inevitably, being on the wrong side of this issue is going to hurt Democratic candidates at the polls come Tuesday, November 8, 2022, when the Democrats and Republicans face off in Texas.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has been in office for way too long sitting in the same position. It's getting to the point where she's not doing anything but occupying space. At some point, we must elect leaders who will stand up to the people who are holding us back. Georgia Provost has never held public office, she's come close a few times, but has ultimately always been rejected by Democrats.

A NOTE FROM GEORGIA PROVOST AN AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE WHO LIVES IN HOUSTON, TEXAS

“Aubrey, in a few weeks, I will reach a major milestone in my life, I will have been here for 710,040 hours and I know what’s in the Black Elected Officials’ closet, and it is not good,” said Georgia Provost.

“They should all resign so we can get young public servants and not career politicians, feeding their own net,” she went on to say. “Blacks should read more, think and use critical thinking,” she explains. “Subscribe to your publication to be informed.”

“My son and Attorney Jackson told me that I will not win an election, because the Black Elected Officials cannot control me, and do not know what will come out of my mouth,” said Georgia.

“So, this is 2022, and it is time to call them all out one by one, and ask them, “what have they done for the people?”

“What have they done for the area they represent?” I’ll bet you many of them won’t be able to list (5) things. Love you!”

Shauntay B. Favor is a longtime Democrat, but she's also an "INDEPENDENT BLACK WOMAN" who isn't afraid to exercise her "FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT" to freely speak her mind. She's pictured above campaign with the Honorable Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

A NOTE FROM A YOUNG AFRICAN AMERIAN COMMUNITY ACTIVIST KNOWN AS SHAUNTAY B FAVOR

Last Sunday around 1:53 pm I sent Shauntay B. Favor (lifelong Democrat), a text blast stating, “I’m starting to see a real shift in thinking patterns in regards to African Americans. Many of the registered Black voters I’ve been talking to are very upset about all these killings. But more and more Blacks are starting to whisper their concerns to me about boys competing against girls in sports, all of this corruption, these warrants, indictments, and how they truly feel deep down inside about our United States Borders being let wide open to let illegals come straight through.”

SHAUNTAY’S RESPONSE TO MY TEXT

“Me too! That’s, a, good thing, but we still got a long way, to go!” said this lifelong Democrat. She went on to say, “I give permission to use My phrase, we as black America must reset our mindset.”

Shauntay B. Favor is pictured above on the campaign trail with State Representative Ron E. Reynolds. In case you don't know, State Rep. Reynolds is the representative for (House District 27) in Fort Bend County. As you can see, Shauntay loves her some Democrats. But she's still not afraid to exercise her "FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT" to freely speak her mind.

Commissioner Grady Prestage is the Fort Bend County Commissioner for Precinct Two. Again, one of the things that I love about Shauntay B. Favor, is that she's true to her Democratic values, but she's open-minded enough to see when the Democratic Party is headed in the wrong direction.

Judge Joel Clouser is beloved by many in Fort Bend County. And he's one of the "GOOD DEMOCRATS" from what I can see. Judge Clouser recently retired as the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, but he's still very active in the community. As you can see, Shauntay loves her some Democrats.

Do you see Shauntay B. Favor wearing that freaking Borris L. Miles t-shirt? Like I said, she loves some Democrats. Even still, she's still independent enough to speak her mind, and not blindly follow people over a cliff.

2022 State of Black America Outlines Coordinated Campaign to Dismantle Voting Rights

National Urban League Relaunches #ReclaimYourVote Campaign in Response
Report Includes the Semi-Annual Equality Index and the First “Pulse of Black America” Companion Poll

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (APRIL 12, 2022) – Factions of state and federal lawmakers, working in concert with shady political operatives and violent extremists, are dangerously close to dismantling American democracy and establishing autocratic rule.

The National Urban League’s 2022 State of Black America® report, “Under Siege: The Plot to Destroy Democracy,” outlines the conspiracy and the urgent case for a national mobilization to protect and defend our most sacred constitutional right.

“The anti-democracy wave that began to rise after record-high Black voting rates in 2008 and crested with the Supreme Court’s 2013 decision in Shelby County v. Holder to gut the Voting Rights Act has now broken against ‘The Big Lie,’ the relentless campaign to invalidate the 2020 election,” National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial said.

Using data and analysis from research partner, The Brennan Center for Justice, this year’s edition of The State of Black America exposes the four main tactics employed in the plot: gerrymandering, voter suppression, misinformation, and intimidation.

“Politicians have used these tactics for generations, to exclude voters of color and to give their parties an edge,” Morial said. “But never before has the nation seen such an insidious and coordinated campaign to obliterate the very principle of ‘one person, one vote’ from the political process.

‘It is an astonishing reversal of a two-century moral arc that has bent, if slowly and unevenly, toward universal suffrage,” he said.

In acknowledgement of Georgia’s status as “ground zero” in the assault on democracy, the National Urban League released the report at an event at Clark Atlanta University featuring students from Atlanta’s four HBCUs, Urban League affiliate presidents from around the country, and other national civil rights leaders.

The release coincides with the 2022 launch of “Reclaim Your Vote,” the National Urban League’s civic engagement campaign, celebrated with a voter mobilization rally on the university’s Promenade.

The release event, which was livestreamed on StateOfBlackAmerica.org and NUL.org, was presented in partnership with AT&T, Geico, and National Grid.

For the first time, The State of Black America includes a companion poll, the Pulse of Black America. Conducted by Benenson Strategy Group, the poll found that an overwhelming majority Black Americans believe strongly in the power of their vote to make a difference when it comes to social and racial justice, police violence, and economic opportunity. But almost as many agree that elected officials are not doing enough to protect voting rights, and are in fact doing more to limit voting rights than to protect them.

The 2022 Equality Index, the National Urban League’s semi-annual calculation of the social and economic status of African Americans relative to whites, is 73.9%, slightly up from the revised 2020 Index of 73.7%. Rooted in the Three-Fifths Compromise of 1787, which counted enslaved African Americans as “three-fifths” of a person, the Index would be 100% under full equality.

Because of a lag in data collection, , the 2022 Equality Index does not capture the full effect of the COVID-19 pandemic or the resulting economic recession, but does capture changes during the pandemic for homeownership, unemployment rates, and school enrollment.

“For these metrics, the 2022 Equality Index illustrates how precarious social and economic gains are for Black Americans,” said economist Rhonda Vonshay Sharpe of the Women's Institute for Science, Equity, and Race, who analyzed the Index for the report. “It is also evidence of how vulnerable Black Americans are to economic and public health crises. The Equality Index is an aggregate analysis of centuries of structural racism that can be a starting point for crafting policy to dismantle anti-Black racism in America.”

"I am happy to announce my endorsement of Vidal Martinez for Harris County Judge. Over the last six months, I was able to get to know Vidal and the other candidates for County Judge quite well, and he is easily the most qualified candidate in the run-off election race and our best chance at beating Lina Hidalgo. As Republicans, we all know and agree on the major issues and shortcomings at Commissioners Court, and Vidal Martinez will be ready to execute change on day one. His experience as a federal prosecutor, time spent serving as Houston Port Commissioner and Greater Houston Partnership board member, as well as his tenure on the Methodist Hospital System Board means that he will not need any on-the-job training and can hit the ground running. Vidal Martinez is the leader we need to bring common sense back to Harris County, and he has my full support. AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "Now is the time when our love for America must prevail. It is incumbent upon us to elect "PUBLIC SERVANTS" who understand that they work for us. We need "ELECTED OFFICIALS" in office who love "OUR CONSTITUTION" and the ideals that our nation was founded upon by our forefathers. We must make it our collective effort to "PUT PEOPLE OVER POLITICS" and do what's best for America during this crucial moment in time."

Favoritism and Party Politics Have No Place Inside Our Harris County Courtrooms

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

At the end of the day, the judicial races are the most important races on the ballot. That said, who we allow to put on that black robe and occupy judicial benches (especially in Harris County, Texas) matters a great deal. Over the years, through straight-ticket voting, and folks going into the polls playing "Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe" we've allowed a few bad folks to slip through the cracks. Now, I'm not trying to play party politics in any way, shape, or form, with my words. All I'm trying to say is that nobody is perfect, but if we make it our goal to elevate people who fear God and have a backbone into positions of authority, every one of us will be afforded the opportunity to live our best life.
