On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Wendell Champion Will Face Off in a Battle for the 18th Congressional District of Texas

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Straight out of the gate – if Conservatives don’t recognize that they’ve got a born winner in Wendell Champion – they are blind! I’ve been telling everyone who would listen to me over the course of the last few weeks that Wendell Champion is the man they must ride in Harris County, Texas in 2020, to have any shot at being competitive on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. In case you don't know him, Wendell Champion is by far, the toughest challenger Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has ever had to face off against in my opinion! I’ve met a lot of people with political aspirations over the course of my nearly 30 years studying the criminal justice system, and local politics. However, there’s something very different about Wendell Champion, an independent conservative who is hoping to claim the 18th Congressional District in a few months. Sure, his story is a compelling one. Absolutely, being raised by a single mother on welfare in New York, and accomplishing what he has to this point in his life is impressive. Yes, graduating from West Point – The United States Military Academy is something that few people can claim as a life achievement. But nothing has come easy for Wendell Champion. Yes, his life is about to get a lot tougher over the course of the next few months  – but something tells me that he's uniquely prepared for this pivotal moment in American history. One of the things I recognized when I first met Wendell Champion is that he has the heart of a champion. This man believes in himself. He’s more than qualified, and he has a heart for our people if you ask me.

WENDELL CHAMPION (CENTER) TO FACE OFF AGAINST CONGRESSWOMAN SHEILA JACKSON LEE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020

By handily defeating his Republican rival with more than 70% of the vote, on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, Wendell Champion has now set the stage for a Tuesday, November 3, 2020, showdown with “THE QUEEN,” herself – none other than Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Can Wendell Champion beat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee? Well, the answer to this question depends on who you ask, and a few different variables. First off, to have any shot at beating Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, he’s going to have to raise a hell of a lot of money. Can he do it? I believe he can. And after the way he manhandled his Republican rival, I don’t see him having trouble raising the money he’ll need, now that he’s claimed the Republican nomination. Secondly, Wendell Champion is going to have to get a lot of support from African American voters in the 18th Congressional District – the ones who are tired, fed up, and want to see change. Thirdly, Wendell Champion is going to have to get a team around him who are not afraid of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee – an army of volunteers who are willing to go into “DEMOCRATIC STRONGHOLDS” within the 18th Congressional District and ask for the vote. Fourthly, Wendell Champion and his team must breakdown the 18th Congressional District into “BATTLEGROUND PRECINCTS,” similar to how presidential candidates categorize “BATTLEGROUND STATES,” to determine how, and where they’re going to fight their battles and allocate their resources. Lastly, all of his naysayers must understand that there are well over 400,000 registered voters living inside the boundaries of the 18th Congressional District. However, only a small fraction of the registered voters living inside the boundaries of the 18th Congressional District actually go to the polls and cast their ballot for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

THERE WON’T BE ANY STRAIGHT-TICKET VOTING ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020, WHEN CONGRESSWOMAN LEE FACES WENDELL CHAMPION

Without the benefit of “STRAIGHT-TICKET” voting, Wendell Champion could have a real shot on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in the General Election. That being said, before anyone reading this post approaches me, talking about who has a shot at winning and who does not, I strongly suggest that you do your research. Why? Well, remember, I’ve been playing roles in political campaigns for nearly 30 years – and more often than not my clients WIN!!! Anyways, remember, there are well over 400,000 registered voters living inside the boundaries of the 18th Congressional District. However, back in 2018, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee only received 138,704 votes. But you have to understand that there were 392,965 registered voters living in the 18th Congressional District at the time of the 2018 Midterm Election. I’ll take it a little deeper for you, back in 2016, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee only received, 150,157 votes. Back in 2014, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee only received 79,097 votes. Back in 2012, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee only received 146,223 votes. Back in 2010, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee only received 85,108 votes. Back in 2008, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee only received 148,617 votes. Back in 2006, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee only received 65,936 votes. What am I trying to say? Well, a candidate with the pedigree of Wendell Champion could match up well against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee in a “GENERAL ELECTION” where there’s no “STRAIGHT-TICKET” voting like the one we’re about to have in Harris County, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. How can I make this assertion? Well, in the last major election that was held back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee won her bid for re-election with 138,704 votes. But what people fail to realize is that a significant portion of the votes Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee typically receives in any given election comes by way of “STRAIGHT-TICKET” voting. So, to hold off a candidate like Wendell Champion, who at this point is undefeated, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee must take him seriously! And beyond that, she must campaign like she’s never campaigned before between now and Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
