The 2017 Early Voting Turnout Is Way Too Low in Sunnyside, Hiram Clark, Acres Homes, Other Areas Says Aubrey R. Taylor

Early voting will end on Friday, November 3, 2017, for the Tuesday, November 7, 2017, General and Special Elections for the Houston area. Thus far, the voter turnout has been very disappointing -- to say the least. It’s hard to believe that a county like Harris County with well over 2 MILLION REGISTERED VOTERS has only yielded an in-person voter turnout of 20,830 voters, and only 8,201 mail-in ballots through the first seven days of early voting. Can you believe this? We can ill-afford to complain about things we’re not willing to change. Nor can we continue to sit around and hope for change we are not willing to make happen for ourselves. WE MUST VOTE EARLY: Hurricane Harvey destroyed a bunch of "ELECTION DAY" polling places throughout Harris County, Texas. So, please don’t wait for Election Day to go to the polls to vote! Houston Business Connections Magazine© is encouraging "ALL REGISTERED VOTERS" without respect to political party affiliation or candidate preference to vote during the early voting period. In case you don't already know, you can vote for any of the candidates running for HCCS Board Trustee or HISD Board Trustee at any early voting location listed below.

Only 664 early voters have turned out in person to vote at the Sunnyside Multi-Service Center through the first seven days of early voting; Only 220 early voters have turned out to vote early in person at the Kashmere Multi-Service Center during the first seven days of early voting; Only 420 early voters have turned out to vote in person at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center during the first seven days of early voting; Only 504 early voters have turned out to vote early in person at the Hiram Clarke Multi-Service Center through the first seven days of early voting. And at the Prairie View A&M University-Northwest location, the early voting turnout has been just as low. Only 347 early voters have turned out to vote early in person at the Prairie View A&M University-Northwest early voting location through the first seven days of early voting.

Durrel K. Douglas Believes we need more out-of-the-box thinkers running for office in the Black Community in future elections:

"If we TRULY want to increase voter turnout in the Black community, we must think outside the box. We must bring a level of excitement. Think about a football halftime show at Texas Southern, versus one at U of H. There's a difference.

We must bring INTEREST back to this arena, we must stop voting just because they've "been there" so long, and we must make it fresh..."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "I've been studying local and national elections for over 26 years, and the video below produced by the Gerry Wayne Monroe for HISD District IX is very, "THOUGHT PROVOKING" and informative. It also represents what out-of-the-box thinking looks and feels like. While I'm not sure of Gerry Monroe's chances in this election; I can't wait to see what he'll come up with if he's able to win on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, or force a December runoff...WAY TO GO BRO." The only sad part about the race for HISD Trustee for District IX is that none of the candidates in this race are asking for our vote, prayers, and support on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at this time.

DR. KARLA BROWN IS THE RIGHT CHOICE IN THE RACE FOR HISD TRUSTEE DISTRICT IX SAYS COUNCILMAN LARRY V. GREEN AND OTHER HOUSTON AREA LEADERS!

HOUSTON BUSINESS CONNECTIONS MAGAZINE: "We are not endorsing any candidates in the Tuesday, November 7, 2017, General Election. However, if we were issuing endorsements during this election cycle Dr. Pretta VanDible Stallworth would certainly be our "RECOMMENDED CANDIDATE" in the race for HCCS Board Trustee for District IX. So, should a December 2017 runoff election be needed to decide the winner in HCCS District IX between Dr. Pretta VanDible StallworthEugene "Gene" Pack and David Jaroszewski we plan to strongly encouraging our readers to vote for Pretta VanDible Stallworth no matter which candidate she faces."
