Mayor Annise Parker, Houston City Council Members Opt to Change City Alcohol Sales Rules inside the City of Houston

BULLETIN – A move by Houston City Council and Mayor Annise Parker to loosen regulations governing alcohol sales could benefit low-income and traditionally under-served neighborhoods in the city of Houston.

For many years, the sale of alcohol has been banned within 300 feet of churches, public schools, or public hospitals operating in the city of Houston. The 2014 Texas Democratic and Republican Primary Elections taking place on Tuesday, March 4th are extremely important. Early voting for the 2014 Democratic and Republican Primaries will take place from Tuesday, February 18th through Friday, February 28th.

The winning candidates in the Democratic and Republican primaries will then compete for your vote and support in the November General Midterm Election to be held on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014. So, it doesn't matter whether you're a Democrat or Republican, you must participate in your party's primary to have the best slate of candidates on the ballot in November.
