49,699 Harris County Democrats Have Voted Early through First 8 days; 48,652 Harris County Republicans Have Voted Early So Far

Democrats in Harris County are Continuing to flex muscle as the 2018 Primary Early Voting Cycle Rolls on in the Lone Star State

ANALYSIS BY AUBREY R. TAYLOR

Harris County Democrats are placing a wakeup call to anyone who believed their sweeping victories back in the 2016 Presidential Election was some sort of fluke. In case you don’t remember, back on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, the Harris County Democratic Party won the straight-ticket voting battle over the Harris County Republican Party by roughly 70,367 straight-ticket votes. This gigantic lead in straight-ticket votes enabled the Harris County Democrats to sweep their Republican counterparts out of every countywide office on the ballot. Get this, 472,030 Harris County Democrats voted a straight-ticket, compared to only 401,663 Harris County Republicans. The voter turnout was 61.33% -- as only 1,338,898 of the 2,182,980 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.

REPUBLICANS ARE STARTING TO FEEL THE HEAT

First Governor Greg Abbott, issued a plea for conservatives to rise to the occasion on Monday, February 26, 2018. Then, on yesterday, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, President Donald Trump sent out a tweet calling for conservatives to step up and show their support for several statewide Republicans in the Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Republican Party Primary in Texas.

GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT

A MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR ABBOTT'S CAMPAIGN

Here is an excerpt from an email that was sent out by Governor Greg Abbott’s campaign on Monday, February 26, 2018:

"I’ll be blunt: Democrat voter turnout is surging statewide during Early Voting.

Numbers for the first week of Early Voting should shock every conservative to their core. On the first day of Early Voting, more than half of Texans who voted early voted in the Democrat Primary. And you would have to go back to the mid-1990s to find the last time Democrats had such a swell in Early Voting numbers in a Primary during a gubernatorial election cycle.

In multiple counties across the state, Democrat turnout was up compared to 2014. Democrat turnout has even increased compared to 2016 when President Trump only carried our state by a single-digit margin. Meanwhile, in many major counties--even deep red Tarrant County--Republican turnout was DOWN!

If these trends continue, we could be in real trouble come Election Day.

In 2010, over 15,000 Democrats cast ballots on the first day of Early Voting in the top 15 counties with registered voters. That number has almost DOUBLED this year. If we let Democrats overwhelm us with turnout in the Primary, they’ll only grow more emboldened as we get closer to November and we could see our worst fears come true.
We’ve got to stop this—right now..."

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP FEELS THE URGENCY

Here is a tweet sent out by President Donald Trump on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, imploring Texans to support a few of his friends in Texas:

“I want to encourage all of my many Texas friends to vote in the primary for Governor Greg Abbott, Senator Ted Cruz, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and Attorney General Ken Paxton…they are helping me to Make America Great Again! Vote early or on March 6th."

Democratic Early In-Person Voters Are Still Outpacing Republican Party In-Person Early Voters through the First Six Days of Early Voting in Harris County, Texas

ANALYSIS BY AUBREY R. TAYLOR

The early voting turnout was really light yesterday in Harris County for both major politcal parties. Neither major political party in Harris County is putting up great overall numbers considering Harris County has well over 2 million voters and the combined early voting numbers only stand at 69,591 total votes. However, Harris County County Democrats are continuing to go to the polls to vote early in greater numbers than their Republican counterparts.

DEMOCRATS TURN IN LARGEST TURNOUT SO FAR

The 2018 Midterms in Harris County is Shaping Up to be a Dogfight Says Aubrey R Taylor, Publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper

ANALYSIS BY AUBREY R. TAYLOR

Many folks are wondering which party is going to win the battle for Harris County on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. While it’s a little too early to answer that question – a quick look at the early voting turnout numbers shows that both parties have some work to do in terms of "OVERALL" engagement and voter mobilization. However, the fact that Harris County Democrats are going to the polls to vote early in greater numbers through the first three days of early voting shows that Democrats must be taken seriously in this pivotal primary election cycle.
