Many folks are wondering which party is going to win the battle for Harris County on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. While it’s a little too early to answer that question – a quick look at the early voting turnout numbers shows that both parties have some work to do in terms of "OVERALL" engagement and voter mobilization. However, the fact that Harris County Democrats are going to the polls to vote early in greater numbers through the first three days of early voting shows that Democrats must be taken seriously in this pivotal primary election cycle.

HARRIS COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY EARLY VOTING TURNOUT THROUGH THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF EARLY VOTING
On Tuesday, 3,833 Democrats voted early by personal appearance. On Wednesday, 3,143 Democrats voted early by personal appearance. On Thursday, 3,920 Democrats voted early by personal appearance.

A GLANCE AT THE HARRIS COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY EARLY VOTING TURNOUT THROUGH THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF EARLY VOTING
On Tuesday, 3,509 Republicans voted early by personal appearance. On Wednesday, 3,167 Democrats voted early by personal appearance. On Thursday, 4,105 Republican voted early by personal appearance.
COMPARATIVELY SPEAKING THE REPUBLICANS ARE STILL AHEAD IN THE OVERALL VOTER TURNOUT THROUGH THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF EARLY VOTING
When you combine the "MAIL-IN BALLOTS" and the in-person voting, the Republican Primary participation is still greater than the Democratic Primary early voting participation. Comparatively speaking, the total Republican Primary early voting participation for Harris County through the first three days is 22,339 votes. The total Democratic Primary participation through the first three days is 18,537 votes.

Back on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, the Harris County Democratic Party won the straight-ticket voting battle over the Harris County Republican Party. In case you don’t remember, 472,030 Democrats voted a straight ticket, compared to only 401,663 Republicans. The voter turnout was 61.33% -- as only 1,338,898 of the 2,182,980 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.

Back on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, the Harris County Republican Party won the straight-ticket voting battle over the Harris County Democratic Party. In case you don’t remember, 254,006 Republicans voted a straight ticket, compared to only 210,018 Democrats. The voter turnout was 33.65% -- as only 688,018 of the 2,044,361 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.

The voter turnout was 61.99% -- as only 1,204,167 of the 1,942,566 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.

Back on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, the Harris County Republican Party won the straight-ticket voting battle over the Harris County Democratic Party. In case you don’t remember, 290,355 Republicans voted a straight ticket, compared to only 240,479 Democrats. The voter turnout was 41.67% -- as only 798,995 of the 1,917,534 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.

Back on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, the Harris County Democratic Party won the straight-ticket voting battle over the Harris County Republican Party. In case you don’t remember, 391,488 Democrats voted a straight ticket, compared to only 343,919 Republicans. The voter turnout was 62.81% -- as only 1,188,731 of the 1,892,656 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.
