Mayor Allen Owen Pitches A Complete Shutout With The Help of Missouri City Voters

Mayor Allen Owen was all smiles as he threw a perfect strike on Friday, May 3rd at Constellation Field at Missouri City Night with the Skeeters. “I’m so glad I was able to throw out the first pitch for Missouri City Night with the Skeeters. And glad it was a strike and not in the dirt. It was a great event and well attended,” says Mayor Owen. But the perfect strike he threw before the Skeeters versus Lancaster game wasn’t the only strike he’s thrown recently. As election night returns rolled in for the 2013 General Election it quickly became evident he was well on his way to pitching a complete shutout in the 2013 General Election. Thanks to support he received from Missouri City voters, every "Charter Proposition" on the ballot passed by an overwhelming margin.

Oh, and in case you haven’t heard, the Skeeters are the Houston area’s minor league baseball team. And yes, they went on to finish what Mayor Allen Owen started on Friday, May 3rd by defeating the Lancaster Barnstomers by a final score of 12 to 2 on the night he threw out the first pitch on behalf of Missouri City.

MISSOURI CITY VOTERS HELP MAYOR ALLEN OWEN PITCH A COMPLETE SHUTOUT ON ELECTION DAY

Mayor Allen Owen was not on the ballot running for re-election in the Saturday, May 11th General Election in Missouri City, Texas – that must wait until May of 2014. However, his popularity with Missouri City voters was unmistakable as every one of the fifteen propositions presented on the general election ballot for voter approval passed by very large margins. These propositions were being offered because the City of Missouri City had their Charter Review Commission look at changes that needed to be made and updated to the “City Charter” which they’re required to do periodically. In their review of the “City Charter” some minor changes needed to be made. The changes to the “City Charter” could only be made by voter approval. So, Mayor Allen Owen (and other members of council) unanimously approved the changes and had them offered on the Saturday, May 11th, General Election ballot for approval.
