AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©
When Lina Hidalgo burst on the scene and filed her very first campaign finance report back on January 16, 2018, she reported only having $7,443.08, cash on hand inside her campaign account. However, our girl Lina hit a high point back in October of 2022 when she reported having $2,020,817.64 cash on hand in the bank on the campaign finance report, she filed on 10/11/2022, under penalty of perjury.
Now, earlier this year, back on January 17, 2023, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo reported having a robust $1,488,652.78, cash on hand in her war chest, and things weren’t going so bad.
But, if you think back with me for a second, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo started throwing ‘f-bombs’ around, and attacking her fellow Democrats on Harris County’s “DEMOCRATICALLY CONTROLLED” Commissioner’s Court back in June of 2023 – right?
Just think about it, Hidalgo started to come unhinged around the same as her finances started to dwindle from $2,020.817.64 in October of 2022, down to only $1,488,652.78 in January of 2023, to now rest at a measly $79,391.07, according to her recently filed July 17, 2023, "CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT" that was filed a few days before Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo decided to check herself into an out-of-state-mental institution for what she's labeled as clinical depression.
"COINCIDENTAL TIMING."
From what I can see, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo’s erratic behavior could possibly be the result of the mounting financial pressure she’s under, after helplessly watching herself fall from multi-millionaire status, within a span of a few months between October 2022 through July 2023.
Nope, I’m not joking around, nor am I making fun of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo’s current mental state, or should I say, the mental health crisis she’s currently experiencing.
To be sure, clinical depression is a serious problem in America. From what I understand, over 21 million Americans are dealing with one form of clinical depression or another. But I must admit, I was a little surprised to discover that Harris County Judge Hidalgo had been undergoing treatment since a few days after filing her most recent campaign finance report, back on July 17, 2023, which revealed that she is virtually broke.
That being said, several of my sources are telling me that there’s a lot going on in the head of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, but her greatest concern is her dwindling finances.
“CASH ON HAND.”
In the grand scheme of things, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo only having $79,391.07, is as concerning as the fact that the Harris County Democratic Party (HCDP) has a huge “FINANCIAL DISPARITY GAP” in their judicial ranks.
That being said, it’s going to be very difficult for some of the “INCUMBENT DEMOCRAT JUDGES” to survive a primary challenge on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the Democratic Party Primary, and then be ready to face off against Republican challengers next fall, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the Presidential Election, in Harris County, Texas.
So, just like back during the 2022 Midterm, Democratic Party Primary, where (12) twelve incumbents lost their benches, Democrats may have to do some “HOUSE CLEANING” on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, to put forth a stronger, field of nominees, to do battle against their Republican rivals.

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”
The time has come for African American voters, in Harris County, Texas to demand better from public servants from both sides of the political aisle. But more importantly, a demand must be placed on “BLACK ELECTED OFFICIALS” to put their money where their mouth is, when it comes to Black folks.
