County Judge Lina Hidalgo only Has $79,391.07 left in the Bank; Commissioner Ellis Has $5,088.044.00 in the Bank

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo has taken a leave of absence to deal with some sort of mental health issue, that she has described as being related to clinical depression. For the record, County Judge Lina Hidalgo appears to have been dealing with depression for some time now. According to an investigation into her "CAMPAIGN FINANCES" by Aubrey R. Taylor Communications, Lina Hidalgo has gone from having over $2 million in the bank back in October 2022 to only having $79,391.07 in the bank right now. Keep in mind that, County Judge Lina Hidalgo filed her most recent report on 7/17/2023, and was forced to publicly reveal that she's no longer a multi-millionaire, and happens to be nearly broke. TROUBLING TIMELINE... A week, or so, after filing her report 7/17/2023 campaign report, under penalty of perjury, Hidalgo is believed to have been checked into an out-of-state mental health facility to deal with her ongoing battle with clinical depression. Now, while she won't be up for reelection until the 2026 Midterm Election cycle, her dwindling campaign war chest and the fact that Democrats did not help her replenish her war chest after the 2022 Midterms were over could be a clear indication that top Democratic donors are souring on the one time darling of the Democratic Party. Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis (right) is up for reelection and has $5,088,044.00, in his war chest, which is more than enough to fight off any would-be Democratic or Republican challengers.

The campaign finance report you see above showing Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo with $79,391.07 in the bank was filed by Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo back on 7/17/2023, a few days before she ended up having to be checked into an out-of-state mental health facility to deal with her clinical depression. You can "CLICK HERE" for a closer look at her campaign finance report for yourself.

The campaign finance report you see above showing Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo with $1,488,652.78 in the bank was filed by Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo back on 1/17/2023, a few months before she ended up having to be checked into an out-of-state mental health facility to deal with her clinical depression. You can "CLICK HERE" for a closer look at her campaign finance report for yourself.

The campaign finance report you see above showing Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo with $2,020,817.64 in the bank was filed by Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo back on 10/11/2022, as she was heading into the "EARLY VOTING CYCLE" during her reelection bid against Alexandra del Moral Mealer, who is now suing Hidalgo to have the results of their election voided. You can "CLICK HERE" for a closer look at her campaign finance report for yourself.

Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis is on solid footing as he prepares to run for reelection on "SUPER TUESDAY" on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, if he draws a Democratic opponent. And even if he does, he could fight a fierce Democratic Party Primary battle, and then, still have enough money to fight hard against a Republican opponent on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the Presidential Election. Unlike Commissioner Rodney Ellis, who has $5,088.044.00, in his war chest, many of his fellow Democrats are broke and don't even have the ability to buy campaign signs, yards signs, or push cards, let alone hire campaign workers and canvassers if a fellow Democrat signs up to run against them on the filing deadline of Monday, December 11, 2023, to appear on the Tuesday, March 5, 2022, Democratic Party Primary ballot.  You can "CLICK HERE" to see for yourself.

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

When Lina Hidalgo burst on the scene and filed her very first campaign finance report back on January 16, 2018, she reported only having $7,443.08, cash on hand inside her campaign account. However, our girl Lina hit a high point back in October of 2022 when she reported having $2,020,817.64 cash on hand in the bank on the campaign finance report, she filed on 10/11/2022, under penalty of perjury.

Now, earlier this year, back on January 17, 2023, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo reported having a robust $1,488,652.78, cash on hand in her war chest, and things weren’t going so bad.

But, if you think back with me for a second, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo started throwing ‘f-bombs’ around, and attacking her fellow Democrats on Harris County’s “DEMOCRATICALLY CONTROLLED” Commissioner’s Court back in June of 2023 – right?

Just think about it, Hidalgo started to come unhinged around the same as her finances started to dwindle from $2,020.817.64 in October of 2022, down to only $1,488,652.78 in January of 2023, to now rest at a measly $79,391.07, according to her recently filed July 17, 2023, "CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT" that was filed a few days before Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo decided to check herself into an out-of-state-mental institution for what she's labeled as clinical depression.

"COINCIDENTAL TIMING."

From what I can see, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo’s erratic behavior could possibly be the result of the mounting financial pressure she’s under, after helplessly watching herself fall from multi-millionaire status, within a span of a few months between October 2022 through July 2023.

Nope, I’m not joking around, nor am I making fun of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo’s current mental state, or should I say, the mental health crisis she’s currently experiencing.

To be sure, clinical depression is a serious problem in America. From what I understand, over 21 million Americans are dealing with one form of clinical depression or another. But I must admit, I was a little surprised to discover that Harris County Judge Hidalgo had been undergoing treatment since a few days after filing her most recent campaign finance report, back on July 17, 2023, which revealed that she is virtually broke.

That being said, several of my sources are telling me that there’s a lot going on in the head of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, but her greatest concern is her dwindling finances.

“CASH ON HAND.”

"DISPARITY GAP."

In the grand scheme of things, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo only having $79,391.07, is as concerning as the fact that the Harris County Democratic Party (HCDP) has a huge “FINANCIAL DISPARITY GAP” in their judicial ranks.

That being said, it’s going to be very difficult for some of the “INCUMBENT DEMOCRAT JUDGES” to survive a primary challenge on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the Democratic Party Primary, and then be ready to face off against Republican challengers next fall, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the Presidential Election, in Harris County, Texas.

So, just like back during the 2022 Midterm, Democratic Party Primary, where (12) twelve incumbents lost their benches, Democrats may have to do some “HOUSE CLEANING” on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, to put forth a stronger, field of nominees, to do battle against their Republican rivals.

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”

The time has come for African American voters, in Harris County, Texas to demand better from public servants from both sides of the political aisle. But more importantly, a demand must be placed on “BLACK ELECTED OFFICIALS” to put their money where their mouth is, when it comes to Black folks.
