Black Protestors Are Denouncing Judge Latosha Lewis Payne, the Presiding Judge for the 55th Civil District Court in Harris County

Judge Latosha Lewis Payne (Democrat), is the presiding judge, for the 55th Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas. Earlier today, a group of "BLACK PROTESTERS" showed up at the Harris County Civil Courthouse to denounce Judge Latosha Lewis Payne, one of the "THE BLACK GIRL MAGIC JUDGES" for 'allegedly' being corrupt and crooked.

Art (Arthur) Smith and his team of protestors showed up in front of the Harris County Civil Courthouse to denounce Judge Latosha Lewis Payne, the presiding judge, for the 55th Civil District Court. Art is seen above talking to a Latina female and telling her about how he got mistreated by Judge Latosha Lewis Payne, one of the members of the "BLACK GIRL MAGIC" phenomenon that swept through Harris County, Texas back during the 2018 Midterm Election.

This Hispanic female came down the steps and asked Art (Arthur) Smith for one of his flyers denouncing Judge Latosha Lewis Payne, the presiding judge, for the 55th Civil District Court.

It was triple digits today in downtown Houston, Texas. However, the scorching temperature didn't stop Art (Arthur), and Koffey Smith from exercising their right to peacefully protest, and tell the world what they think about Judge Latosha Lewis Payne, the presiding judge for the 55th Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas.

The First Amendment to our United States Constitution provides that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting Americans from freely practicing the religion of their choice. Our Constitution also provides people like, Art and Koffey Smith the right to freely speak their minds. And what you saw these two Fifth Ward natives doing today, was peaceably assembling, and exercising their right to petition our Government for a redress of grievances.

It's a shame that corruption and cronyism have taken over our local judicial, political, and educational segments of our local government. I mean, things have gotten so bad, that I can't tell the "GOOD JUDGES" from the "BAD JUDGES" anymore. Heck, I always thought of Judge Latosha Lewis Payne as a woman of integrity. I've always looked up to Judge Latosha Lewis Payne. Prior to her getting elected to the bench, I had the utmost respect for her.

Now, whether Judge Latosha Lewis Payne took a bribe, or not from Attorney Ben Hall, isn't for me to decide. However, lawyers like Ben Hall, have what's called "FRIENDLY INCUMBENCY RULES" where they donate money to incumbents for whatever reason. A lot of times you will see, attorneys donate money to members of the judiciary, no matter which "POLITICAL PARTY" they belong to. And if you ask me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

So, what's all the fuss about? Well, what happening right now, is that Art and Koffey believe that the $1,000.00 dollars that Attorney Ben Hall donated to Judge Lotasha Lewis Payne influenced her decision to dismiss their $1 million dollar that was "ACTIVE" in her court at the time that the donation was made. But, that's not against the law. Now, whether the law needs to be changed, that's a story for another day.

Does Judge Latosha Lewis Payne show biases in her courtroom? I've asked around and all of the attorneys I've spoken to claim that she's a fair and unbiased member of the judiciary. Is she corrupt? Well, if you ask Art and Koffey, their answer is going to say YES!

SOMETHING INTERESTING

A couple different people sent me an "ANONYMOUS" statement about this entire situation. The statement was entitled, "Look In the Mirror!" and had been floating around Facebook. Anyways, the statement proclaimed, "Mr. Arthur Smith is disappointed he lost his meritless lawsuit and seeks to blame others. It went on to say, "He lost his case because his claims had no merit!" Now, after speaking to Art and Koffey about the "ANONYMOUS" statement they disagreed.

"He sued an off-duty police officer but had no evidence to overcome the police officer's defenses," the "ANONYMOUS" author stated. "He sued a church claiming it should be responsible for what the police officer did, and the court rightly rejected that absurd claim," the anonymous person went on to claim.

"And he even claimed the pastor of the church should be held responsible for what the police officer did, and he failed to even file a response to a motion to dismiss this part of the case," said the person who wrote the anonymous statement. And they went on to say, "So, Mr. Smith whines because he lost a case that never had any merit in the first place." Now, Art and Koffey Smith both totally disagreed with the assertion that their case was meritless.

"It is lawsuits like his that needlessly clog up the court system," said the anonymous writer. And the "ANONYMOUS" author closed out their statement by declaring, "If anyone is to blame it is Mr. Smith for filing a bogus lawsuit -- "Look in The Mirror!" Now, once again, whether or not their lawsuit is bogus or not, isn't for me to decide. However, it's always a good thing to see our Democracy at work! So, I'll be watching this case and protesting as it continues in the courtroom and on the streets of downtown Houston, Texas.
