Houston Business Connections Magazine® Would Like to Congratulate "OUR PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" Tom Reid on His Election Night Victory Over Quentin Wiltz

MESSAGE FROM AUBREY R. TAYLOR

As many of you already know, Houston Business Connections Magazine®, published by Aubrey R. Taylor Communications has created a new "POWER RANKING SYSTEM" that accurately predicted that Mayor Tom Reid would defeat his challenger Quentin Wiltz on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the General Runoff Election for Mayor of Pearland, Texas. In case you don't already know, based on "UNOFFICIAL RESULTS" Mayor Tom Reid defeated Quentin Wiltz by gaining 58.37% of the vote on Election Night. Quentin Wiltz could only muster 40.63% against the longtime incumbent.

HOW “OUR POWER RANKING SYSTEM” PERFORMED FOR MAYOR TOM REID IN PEARLAND, TEXAS ON JUNE 10TH

MAYOR TOM REID VERSUS QUENTIN WILTZ

Mayor Tom Reid was our "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Mayor of Pearland, Texas on Saturday, June 10, 2017 -- and he didn't disappoint. The "UNOFFICIAL CUMULATIVE REPORT" published by the Brazoria County Clerk shows Mayor Tom Reid with 7,960 votes for 59.37% of the vote and Quentin Wiltz with 5,447 votes for 40.63% to close out the "2017 Municipal Election" season for Pearland, Texas.

MAYOR TOM REID HAD A MUCH STRONGER TEAM & NONPARTISAN OUTREACH STRATEGY IN PEARLAND, TEXAS

Yes, there was a record turnout for the City of Pearland, Texas. However, there were still over 55,849 registered voters who didn’t go to the polls to exercise their right to vote for one reason or another! Based on the turnout numbers, 13,437 registered voters took part in the Saturday, June 10, 2017 General Runoff Election for a 19.39% turnout, according to the Brazoria County Clerk. OUR "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITES" WON BOTH RACES IN PEARLAND, TEXAS

A quick review of the “UNOFFICIAL CANVASS REPORT” for the Saturday, June 10, 2017 City of Pearland General Election race for Mayor of Pearland, Texas clearly shows how accurately the newly created Houston Business Connections Magazine© “POWER RANKING SYSTEM” performed as Mayor Tom Reid rolled to victory over his hungry challenger – just as “OUR POWER RANKINGS” predicted that he would prior to Election Day! Quentin Wiltz tried to use Facebook, Twitter, Majic 102 radio commercials, CNN television commercials – and knocking on as many doors as he possibly could -- but nothing worked. Nope! Nothing he tried could rescue him from the result predicted by the Houston Business Connections Magazine© “POWER RANKING SYSTEM” which accurately gauged and identified the strengths and weaknesses of both candidates prior to the start of Early Voting. Not only that: “OUR POWER RANKING SYSTEM” also accurately identified the “BATTLEGROUND PRECINCTS” where “CROSSOVER VOTERS LIVED” and we "OPENLY PUBLISHED" our findings for "EVERY CAMPAIGN" to review during the "EARLY VOTING" process in Pearland, Texas.

Ramani Row of Shadow Creek Ranch; Other Tom Reid Supporters Are Urging “ALL" Pearland, Texas Registered Voters to Vote for Mayor Tom Reid on Saturday, June 10, 2017

The “Early Voters” in the City of Pearland, Texas have spoken, and now it’s up to the “Election Day Voters” to seal the deal for the candidate of their choosing on Saturday, June 10, 2017. For Ramani Row, and other Pearland residents seeking to “KEEP PEARLAND MOVING FORWARD” the choice is clear: Mayor Tom Reid is their man!

PASSIONATE MESSAGE FROM RAMANI ROW

“When I first moved to Pearland almost a decade ago, there was nothing around Shadow Creek Ranch, where I live. In the last decade that I have been here, I have seen so much development with Pearland Town Center, all the medical facilities including Pearland Med center, Sports complex, roadways, almost 300 small, medium and corporate businesses have flourished around my community; and mayor, Tom Reid has been a big part in opening each one of them. Things have not happened overnight and there is lot more work to do and Mayor Tom Reid wants to finish what he started. I’ve had the privilege to watch him closely in action, the last few months and I can say that he is a man with integrity and he is always so positive and looks beyond differences of parties, religion and race. Tom Reid has always supported my community I live in and my culture. He told me personally that he is the mayor of all -- he represents each of us in Pearland as a mayor, whether it is his supporter or an opponent running against him, he wants to work with them. Tom Reid is the most hardworking and dedicated mayor, I know, who is committed full-time to my city. At 91, with his wealth of experience and contacts, his relentless passion to move this city forward and his zeal and enthusiasm, the least I can do is support him in moving my city forward. Hope you join me.”

A STUDY BY AUBREY R. TAYLOR COMMUNICATIONS SHOWS A VERY CLEAR "POLITICAL DIVIDE" IN PEARLAND, TEXAS

“Yes, there does “APPEAR” to be a “CLEAR POLITICAL DIVIDE” in Pearland, Texas. However, the same divide is present in cities all across America right now. Look, Mayor Tom Reid is the “ONLY CANDIDATE” in the race for Mayor of Pearland on Saturday, June 10, 2017 who can "BRIDGE THE POLITICAL DIVIDE" between "EAST AND WEST" in Pearland, Texas.

TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED

Anything can happen on Saturday, June 10, 2017. But what we should see is Mayor Tom Reid winning his bid for re-election. Mayor Tom Reid’s “CROSSOVER APPEAL” into certain “VOTER PRECINCTS” on the “LOWER-WEST SIDE” and the “STRONGHOLD” he currently has in “PRECINCT 27” that sits right in the middle of Quentin Wiltz territory is going to make a "BIG DIFFERENCE" for him on Saturday.

FIGHT TO THE FINISH

The "BATTLE LINES" have been drawn -- and the "ELECTION DAY STRATEGIES" are ready to be put to the test. Is there a divide in Pearland? Yes, there's a “CLEAR POLITICAL DIVIDE” in Pearland, Texas heading into "ELECTION DAY". Guys, "THE DIVIDE IN PEARLAND" may not be driven by the ethnicity of the candidates involved in the race for mayor. According to our study, the "POLITICAL DIVIDE" in Pearland appears (at least on the surface) to be more along the lines of “POLITICAL IDEOLOGY” than “ETHNICITY”. Sure, there are some "RACIST POCKETS" in Pearland, Texas – but this is also true for "ANY CITY" anywhere in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. So look, the above graphic clearly shows a divide among voters – but “THE RACIAL THING” is a story for another day. So stay tuned...

MAYOR TOM REID CAN BRIDGE THE DIVIDE

The graphic pictured above was created by Aubrey R. Taylor Communications using information gathered from the “CANVASS REPORTS” from the Saturday, May 6, 2017 General Election race for Mayor of Pearland between Mayor Tom Reid and his challenger Quentin Wiltz. The chart shows a clear divide in terms of how people who live in “SHADOW CREEK AND WEST PEARLAND” are heavily in favor of Quentin Wiltz – and people in “EAST PEARLAND” strongly favor Mayor Tom Reid. However, if you look closer you’ll see that Mayor Tom Reid is the “ONLY CANDIDATE” who will be able to cross the "POLITICAL DIVIDE" in a significant way.

DR. HUGH PATTON ENDORSES MAYOR TOM REID!

LIFE MUST GO ON AFTER THE ELECTION

Yes, racial tensions in Pearland are real and must be addressed -- no matter who wins the race for Mayor of Pearland, Texas on Saturday, June 10, 2017. But look, the City of Pearland is clearly in the heat of "A POLITICAL BATTLE" right now. Yes, racial matters are important -- but a healing will need to take place after Saturday, June 10, 2017. And the only way to "TRULY MOVE FORWARD" is to RECOGNIZE THAT THERE'S A PROBLEM" and then "WORK TOGETHER" to address the issues at hand. However, some folks are denying the existence of a divide – at least when speaking with the media that is. CHECK OUT THIS HOUSTON CHRONICLE ARTICLE: “Pearland candidates say there's no such thing as an east-west divide”. This article was written by Y.C. Orozco, Jennifer Bolton, Pearland Journal and was published at 2:46 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

THE RACE THING MUST BE ADDRESSED SOON

In the above reference article Woody Owens and Dalia Kasseb, both candidates running for the Pearland City Council Position #7 seat on Saturday, June 10, 2017 denied the existence of a divide. However, our study shows at the very least a “DIFFERENCE OF POLITICAL BELIEFS”  between "EAST PEARLAND VOTERS" and "WEST PEARLAND VOTERS" back on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the General Election -- and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! That's actually healthy for our Democracy! But this isn’t a report about Woody Owens and Dalia Kassebthat’s a story for another day.

MAYOR TOM REID'S SUPPORTERS SHOULD PUT ON A FAVORABLE TURNOUT IN ALMOST EVERY VOTER PRECINCT ON SATURDAY

MAYOR TOM REID IS THE BEST CHOICE

A lot of folks are trying to paint Pearland, Texas as a “CITY DIVIDED ALONG RACIAL LINES”. However, our “POWER RANKINGS” show that Mayor Tom Reid should win “EVERY VOTER PRECINCT” in East Pearland on Saturday, June 10, 2017 when he faces off with his opponent Quentin Wiltz. But he should also “PERFORM VERY WELL” in West Pearland (among Liberal voters) as well – according to our study. Remember, this is a nonpartisan election that's taking place on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Pearland, Texas!

PEARLAND IS NOT AS DIVIDED AS SOME THINK

Some of those looking to sow seeds of discord, upheaval and division in Pearland are saying that “WHITE RESIDENTS” are voting for Mayor Tom Reid and “BLACK RESIDENTS” are voting for his opponent, Quentin Wiltzthis assumption is false. Not all Blacks vote for a candidate because he (or she) happens to be Black – let’s stop that nonsense right now! Look, Mayor Tom Reid has a lot of supporters in “EVERY VOTER PRECINCT” across the city of Pearland, Texas. Our “POWER RANKINGS” show Mayor Tom Reid “WINNING” these “VOTER PRECINCTS” on Saturday, June 10, 2017: Precinct 12, Precinct 13, Precinct 26, Precinct 27, Precinct 28, Precinct 36, Precinct 46, Precinct 47, Precinct 51, Precinct 52, Precinct 61, Precinct 537 and Precinct 654 on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Our “POWER RANKINGS” also show Mayor Tom Reid “RUNNING VERY COMPETITIVELY” in the following “VOTER PRECINCTS" on Saturday: Precinct 44, Precinct 60, Precinct 62, and Precinct 762. Hey guys, the second set of “VOTER PRECINCTS” are very diverse and "PROGRESSIVE AREAS" within Pearland.

ADJUSTMENTS MADE AFTER EARLY VOTING

Initially, we only had Mayor Tom Reid favored in 13 of the 26 “VOTER PRECINCTS”. However, after the showing put on by “EAST PEARLAND VOTERS” we believe some of the “VOTER PRECINCTS” that we initially labeled as “BATTLEGROUND PRECINCTS” are actually now “WINNABLE PRECINCTS” for Mayor Tom Reid on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

LET'S FINISH THE JOB

Look, only 9,740 “EARLY VOTES” were cast during the “EARLY VOTING” process. This means, that there are still over 58,893 “REGISTERED VOTERS” who could flood the polls on “ELECTION DAY” – Saturday, June 10, 2017. So, this “RUNOFF ELECTION” isn’t over yet.

THESE ARE KEY PRECINCTS FOR QUENTIN WILTZ

Our “POWER RANKINGS” indicate that Quentin Wiltz will run “VERY STRONG” in the following “VOTER PRECINCTS” in Pearland, Texas on Saturday: Precinct 29, Precinct 50, Precinct 54, Precinct 59, Precinct 67 and Precinct 1134. Our “POWER RANKINGS” show that Quentin Wiltz should win these six “VOTER PRECINCTS” by wide margins of victory on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Any chance Quentin Wiltz has of defeating Mayor Tom Reid will come through these “VOTER PRECINCTS” on Election Day!

MAYOR TOM REID IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE IN THE RACE FOR MAYOR WHO IS ASKING FOR YOUR VOTE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 2017

MAYOR TOM REID is a public servant who values the vote, prayers, and support of every Pearland, Texas resident without respect to ethnicity, gender, political affiliation, socioeconomic status or any other distinguishing characteristic people sometimes use to divide communities. Nor is he endorsing any candidate running for election in the Saturday, June 10, 2017 General Runoff Election race for Mayor of Pearland, Texas.

MESSAGE FROM MAYOR TOM REID

MAYOR TOM REID: “Please let me reiterate that as your Mayor, I do not and will not endorse any candidate seeking elected office in our city. I encourage every citizen to get out there, get involved, get educated, and get to the polls on June 10. Thank you all for your continued support. I look forward to working with you to Keep Pearland Moving Forward."

MAYOR TOM REID NEEDS YOUR VOTE

MAYOR TOM REID'S opponent (Quentin Wiltz) closed ground on him on "ELECTION DAY" back on Saturday, May 6, 2017. However, on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the General Runoff Election we must meet the "ELECTION DAY PUSH" by Quentin Wiltz with a "POWERFUL SHOW OF SUPPORT AND LOVE" befitting a "PUBLIC SERVANT" as "HONORABLE" and "DISTINGUISHED" as MAYOR TOM REID. The very savvy businesswoman and very astute Political Analyst for FOX 26 (Jacquie Baly) GOT IT RIGHT WHEN SHE PROCLAIMED:  "Mayor Tom Reid has done an excellent job representing the City of Pearland. His heart and head are in the right place. The residents of Pearland are blessed to have such a dedicated public servant as their leader. So let's get it right on Saturday, June 10, 2017 by "HELPING MAYOR TOM REID" to beat back the forces seeking to "INVADE" Pearland, Texas and "DIVIDE" the community you love and call home.

Jacquie Baly Puts Her Unblemished 2017 Endorsement Record on The Line in Runoff Between Mayor Reid and Wiltz

Political Analyst Jacquie Baly Puts Her Perfect "2017 Election Cycle" Endorsement Record On-The-Line By Sticking With Mayor Tom Reid in His Saturday, June 10, 2017 Rematch Against Quentin Wiltz in Pearland, Texas

REPORT by AUBREY R. TAYLOR

Do endorsements matter? Well, it all depends on who you ask. I'll bet if you were to ask Mayor Chuck Brawner -- the "NEWLY-ELECTED" Mayor of Katy, Texas; Mayor Susan V. Sample -- the newly "RE-ELECTED" Mayor of West University Place; FBISD Trustee Jason Burdine -- the "NEWLY-RE-ELECTED" Trustee for Position #1 in Fort Bend County; or Mayor Pro Tem/Councilman Gary Moore who recently won his "RE-ELECTION BID" in the race for Pearland City Council Member for Position #3 -- they would all perhaps give a resounding "YES" as their answer to this question.

A COMMON THREAD

So what's the common link between the recent successes enjoyed by all of the aforementioned candidates? I'm glad you asked. The common thread is, Jacquie Baly, a successful businesswoman and very "OUTSPOKEN" Political Analyst for FOX 26. She's currently a co-host of FOX 26 KRIV’s The RoundUp which airs every Sunday morning 6 AM – 8 AM. And her company, BalyProjects was founded back in 1999 with the objective of providing public affairs, public policy and planning services to individuals, institutions, small businesses, government and corporations.  And NO, I'm not trying to give Jacquie Baly full credit for the recent successes enjoyed by the "DISTINGUISHED CANDIDATES" I just mentioned. However, her bravery and willingness to "SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER" is slowly giving her increased "NAME RECOGNITION" and "A RECOGNIZABLE BRAND" that people from all ethnic groups, political persuasions, and socioeconomic states can trust and respect.

SHE'S NOT SCARED

Jacquie Baly is definitely a person who isn't afraid to make her picks known before the election takes place -- that's one of the things I absolutely love about her. A lot of folks won't make endorsements in political contests at all; or in a lot of cases won't make them until they are "ABSOLUTELY SURE" that victory is certain for the candidate they favor. But not Jacquie Baly -- if she likes you...she's going to stand on the "FRONT-LINE" and battle with you! Such is the case as it relates to the Saturday, June 10, 2017 Runoff Election where Mayor Tom Reid, the beloved Mayor of Pearland, Texas finds himself embroiled in what is perhaps one of the toughest challenges he's faced since taking office many...many years ago.

CAN MAYOR REID CLOSE THE DEAL?

ONLY TIME WILL TELL

For now, we will just have to wait until after the election returns begin to flow in from the TWENTY SIX (26) VOTING PRECINCTS in Pearland, Texas on "ELECTION NIGHT" to find out if Mayor Tom Reid can win and secure his legacy. However, in true fashion, Jacquie Baly has taken her stance and made it perfectly clear that she and many other Pearlanders want for "EVERY REGISTERED VOTER IN PEARLAND, TEXAS TO VOTE EARLY (but not often) FOR MAYOR TOM REID IN THE RACE FOR MAYOR" of Pearland, Texas. After all, Baly believes that Mayor Tom Reid has done an excellent job representing the City of Pearland.

IN HER OWN WORDS

JACQUIE BALY: "Mayor Tom Reid has done an excellent job representing the City of Pearland. His heart and head are in the right place. The residents of Pearland are blessed to have such a dedicated public servant as their leader...Mayor Reid you have my full support and endorsement in your re-election bid. Please let me know how I can help you in this race and in the future."

LET'S CLOSE THE DEAL

Back in the General Election Mayor Tom Reid appeared to be heading to a "VERY EASY VICTORY" after "ABSENTEE VOTING" and "EARLY VOTES" were tabulated. However, his supporters "FAILED TO SHOW UP ON ELECTION DAY" -- allowing his opponent Quentin Wiltz to close ground on him, and force the "RUNOFF ELECTION" that's currently underway.

A RECAP OF WHAT HAPPENED IN THE GENERAL ELECTION IN THE SHOWDOWN BETWEEN TOM REID, QUENTIN WILTZ AND JIMI AMOS

Mayor Tom Reid beat Quentin Wiltz in "ABSENTEE VOTING" (216 TO 102). Jimi Amos only received (ten) 10 absentee votes. Mayor Tom Reid had a commanding lead at this point with 65.85 percent of the vote. However, Quentin Wiltz began to "CLOSE GROUND" during the "EARLY VOTING PERIOD" by gaining 1,902 votes or 43.88 percent of the "EARLY VOTE". Mayor Tom Reid received 2,237 "EARLY VOTES" and was still in the lead with 51.60 percent of the vote. At this point Jim Amos only had 4.52 percent of the vote -- making him pretty much a non-factor in the race.

VOTER TURNOUT WAS A PROBLEM FOR MAYOR TOM REID BACK ON SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2017

Heading into "ELECTION DAY" it appeared that Mayor Tom Reid had his opponents measured and would avoid a runoff. However, Quentin Wiltz and his bevy of "ELECTION DAY" supporters outpaced those supporting Mayor Tom Reid -- granting Quentin Wiltz "ANOTHER BITE AT THE PROVERBIAL APPLE". Get this, Quentin Wiltz beat Mayor Tom Reid in "ELECTION DAY VOTING" by receiving 1,457 votes to Mayor Tom Reid's 1,257 votes. The pesky Wiltz beat Mayor Reid by a mere 200 votes in "ELECTION DAY VOTING"; but it was more than enough to force the Saturday, June 10, 2017 runoff "SHOWDOWN" between Quentin Wiltz and Mayor Tom Reid. So we are encouraging "ALL" Pearlanders to join in the effort to help Mayor Tom Reid close the deal this time around.

THE FINAL VOTE COUNT FROM THE SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2017 GENERAL ELECTION

Mayor Tom Reid finished the night with 3,710 votes for 48.89% of the vote. Quentin Wiltz finished the night with 3,461 votes for 45.61% to force a runoff to decide the winner. Jimi Amos finished the night with 418 votes for 5.51% of the vote. The unofficial turnout for this race was 7,589 according to the Brazoria County Clerk -- WITH SEVENTY-ONE (71) UNDER VOTES. The runoff election between Mayor Tom Reid and Quentin Wiltz is underway and will end on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

LET'S KEEP PEARLAND MOVING FORWARD BY RE-ELECTING MAYOR TOM REID TO ANOTHER TERM ON SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 2017

LET'S FINISH THE JOB THIS TIME: Yes, that's a cookie named after the honorable Mayor Tom Reid. The City of Pearland has experienced "UNPRECEDENTED GROWTH" under the direction of this dedicated public servant. He's committed most of his adult life to serving the City of Pearland, Texas. Yes, he's getting up there in age -- but he's still vibrant, full of energy, vitality and has an enviable supply of stamina woven into his DNA! Mayor Tom Reid is doing very well mentally, physically, and emotionally -- and is in much better shape and spirits than many people half his age. Make no mistake about it, he's "THE STEADYHAND" the City of Pearland needs during this "CRUCIAL TIME" when "THE DIRECTION THE CITY IS GOING TO HEAD IS AT STAKE". As an ambassador of sorts Mayor Tom Reid has "STOOD WITH PEARLAND MOST OF HIS ENTIRE ADULT LIFE". And on "SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 2017" he needs for every "REGISTERED PEARLANDER TO STAND WITH HIM IN HIS RE-ELECTION BID". So don't forget that back on Saturday, May 6, 2017 his opponent (Quentin Wiltz) made up a lot of ground on him and forced him into a Saturday, June 10, 2017 Runoff Election. Quentin Wiltz is hungry and smells victory! However, his hunger must be satisfied by the bitter taste of defeat -- and his thirst quenched by the oft-fleeting thoughts of what could-have-been. But for now, he's been granted a second chance to try to unseat the beloved Mayor Tom Reid. So you can bet your last dollar that he's going to be looking for his supporters to flood the polls again on Election Day! But Pearlanders should beat back Wiltz' feeble attempt with an "OVER-POWERING SHOW OF LOVE AND SUPPORT" befitting a man as honorable as Mayor Tom Reid. So let's make Saturday, June 10, 2017 different -- it must be! LET'S FINISH THE JOB WE STARTED by making quick-work of Quentin Wiltz -- and helping Mayor Tom Reid to secure his legacy.
