Judge Lucia G. Bates is Proof Positive that a Duly-Qualified Woman With a Plan Can Run and Win in a Democratic Party Primary

Judge Lucia C. Bates, a lifelong Democrat currently serves as Harris County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, Position 2. However, she had to unseat a Democrat (sitting judge) by the name Judge Don Coffey (right) back in the Tuesday, March 6, 2018 Democratic Primary to achieve her dream of becoming a judge. So, any person (male or female) visiting this page is strongly encouraged to use the story of Judge Lucia G. Bates as inspiration, motivation and encouragement that you too can accomplish your hopes and dreams as God’s plan for your life continues to unfold.

Judge Lucia G. Bates is Proof Positive that an Incumbent Judge Can Be Beaten With Hard Work and a Good Strategy

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

When I think about Judge Lucia G. Bates, what I see is a beautiful, smart, courageous, woman who has a caring nurturing spirit; but also respects the rule of law. She’s a stern woman, but also fair and compassionate as a judge. Judge Bates burst onto the political scene back in the 2018, Midterm Election. Yes, she ended up being adopted (if you will) into the whole “BLACK GIRL MAGIC” thing once she’d successfully made her way onto the ballot as the Democratic nominee in the race for Harris County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Place 1. For those of you who don’t remember, the “BLACK GIRL MAGIC” campaign was launched after “SUPER TUESDAY” was already over back in 2018 – not during the primary season. The strategy was perfect for its time, and morphed into something that was beautiful to behold as those nineteen African American women coalesced around one another and made special appearances in local churches and any other place they could find to tell Harris County voters to vote a straight Democratic ticket back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 – and it worked back then. However, that was back then, and this is now!!! What works in one season may not necessarily work in the next. Look, the "BLACK GIRL MAGIC" strategy was built for a general election – not a primary election if you ask me. Why? Well, for starters, you can’t vote a straight-ticket in a primary election. And secondly, you can’t even vote a straight-ticket in a general election either – since straight-ticket voting has been abolished in Texas. And thirdly, when candidates run for office in groups it is highly unlikely that they will be afforded the ability to stand out in the crowd. So, every candidate who will appear on the “SUPER TUESDAY” ballot in Texas on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 should be compelled to stand on their own two feet, and not be allowed to hide behind their fellow sisters. And that brings me to what I love most about Judge Lucia G. Bates she has already demonstrated that she has what it takes to run and win a political race on her own merits.

LUCIA G. BATES’ VICTORY

For the most part, the story of the remarkable feat by Lucia G. Bates went largely gone untold on election night back in 2018. However, her accomplishment didn’t go unnoticed by me. So, in case you don’t remember, Justice of the Peace Don Coffey was such a heavy favorite to win re-election in the race for Harris County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, Place 2 back on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, that no Republican candidate even bothered to sign up to run for the bench he held at that time.

Lucia G. Bates – the woman who dared to oppose Judge Don Coffey, took him out in good fashion. And I must add that she did it the right way, by putting in sweat-equity in the form of hard work and serious voter outreach. And she ran a nice clean campaign as well, using branding and marketing techniques to convince Democratic Primary voters to cast their vote for her. And all of her hard work paid off in the end as she unseated Judge Coffey by garnering 6,117 votes, or 52.40% of the vote. Comparatively speaking, Judge Don Coffey only managed to garner 5,556 or 47.60% of the vote as he lost his seat to his Democratic Party Primary challenger.

ALL ABOUT YOU IN 2022

For all you “DULY-QUALIFIED”, ladies out there who are thinking about throwing your hat into the ring in 2022, don’t be afraid to do so. And please know that you don’t have to go and ask for anyone’s permission to run for public office. It’s going to be “ALL ABOUT YOU IN 2022” if you have the courage to step forward and fearlessly go after your dream. Remember, Romans 2:11 in the King James Version of the Bible states “For there is no respect of persons with God.” What He did for Lucia G. Bates, back in 2018, he can also do the same thing you. Now, I’m going to be talking a lot more about Judge Lucia G. Bates in the coming months, but as for today, please scroll down this page and feel the power.

This "SISTERHOOD SERIES" is an empowerment movement launched by Aubrey R. Taylor Communications, the publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper©. The purpose of this empowerment movement is to effectively recognize and promote women who are doing their thing in the courtroom, boardroom, and in the rough and tumble political world in Texas. So, to this end, we will endeavor to "PROMOTE PEOPLE OVER POLITICS" and inspire our readers to search for the "BEST QUALIFIED" men and women who value every vote when they exercise their God-given right to select the people who govern on the local and national stage. Why are we launching this empowerment movement now? Well, because in Harris County, Texas only 1,656,686 of the 2,431,457 registered voters exercised their right to vote back on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in the 2020 Presidential Election. Why is this significant? Well, what this means is that 747,771 registered voters did not even bother to vote for candidates belonging to either major political party back in the 2020 Presidential Election whereas Harris County, Texas is concerned. And if you look back at the results of the Tuesday, November 6, 2018, Midterm Election only 1,219,871 of the 2,307654 registered voters in Harris County, Texas went to the polls to vote. This means that 1,087,788 registered voters in Harris County, Texas stayed home and did not feel inspired to vote for the candidates who were put forth by either of the top two major political parties in America. So, our "SISTERHOOD SERIES" will endeavor to target and then inspire people who have not been participating in the process of voting to make their voices heard in 2022, 2024, and beyond.

The “Sisterhood Series” Features 70 Powerful Texas Women You Should Know Who Are Doing Their Own Thing

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

I would like to take this moment to introduce our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” to you. This empowerment movement is being launched to highlight a few powerful Texas women who are doing their own thing in legal, political, and public relations fields throughout the Lone Star State. Now, while this powerful group of women is being brought to you as a corporate body, our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” should not be misconstrued as identity/gender politics in any way, shape, or form. Why? Well, all of the featured women in this series are (in their own unique way) some of the best and brightest women in America. So, recognizing these women as part of our SISTERHOOD SERIES” is our way of applauding each of them for their courage, tenacity, and ability to compete in what has traditionally been a man’s world.

TRUTH OF THE MATTER

If we’re honest with ourselves, we all know that women are still fighting an uphill battle in politics as well as inside boardrooms across America. So, let's not forget – it wasn’t long ago that women were guaranteed the right to vote. In case you don’t know, the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote was only the beginning of a much longer fight that women are continuing to fight on the campaign trail, in board rooms, and while living their everyday lives.

A VERY UNIQUE BOND

Each segment of our “SISTERHOOD SERIES” will highlight a “FEATURED SPONSOR” on the cover, and sixty-nine sitting incumbent Democratic and Republican members of the judiciary inside. So, as a community of women, each of the sixty-nine women featured as the “BODY OF THE SERIES” are linked together by their common successes in the rough and tumble world of Texas politics. Now, you can bet your bottom dollar, that some of these women will be endorsed by Houston Business Connections Newspaper©, in 2022 and 2024 “ELECTION GUIDES” when they appear on the ballot. However, unfortunately, some of these women will not make the cut. So, please do not forget that the deadline to run for political office in the “2022 MIDTERM ELECTIONS” is on Monday, December 13, 2021, in Texas. And, if you are a woman or man who is planning to run for office in 2022, you must sign up by Monday, December 13, 2021, at 6:00 pm. So, if you are not sure, what position you should run for in the Democratic Party Primary or Republican Party Primary, please call (281)788-3033, and I will try to assist you in any way I can.

MINISTERS OF JUSTICE

Every judge in America takes an oath of office and solemnly swears that they will administer justice without respect to persons and that they will do equal right to the poor and to the rich alike. So, the “MINISTERS OF JUSTICE” you see listed below, have all promised to faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon them under the United States Constitution and the laws that govern us as a free nation when they were elected. And each of them did so before the LORD God Almighty. Now, that being said, nowhere in their promise was their political party affiliation, sorority, socio-economic status, or ethnicity mentioned. So, let’s do our best going forward, to elect the “BEST AND BRIGHTEST” women and men who are committed to handing out even-handed justice to every person who enters their courtroom.

These are difficult times that we are living in right now, and we can only thrive by having more open-minded people like Attorney Nyanza Moore to find value in what we do."

Nominating the Wrong Candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" Could Have Disastrous Consequences in the November 2022 General Election in Harris County

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Make no mistake about it, who the people of Harris County, Texas choose to give another term to in 2022 must be about substance, job performance, judicial temperament, competence, and whether or not our members of the judiciary are following the law with their rulings. And that being said, in 2022, it is incumbent upon the voters of Harris County to evaluate the job performance of each and every sitting "ELECTED OFFICIAL" on a case-by-case basis and not as a group based on their political party affiliation, ethnicity, or gender.

THINKING ABOUT RUNNING?

If you are a candidate planning to run for office in 2022, you have to select the right candidate to run against. And the second most important thing to understand is that you have to select your race early, to avoid ending up in a crowded field of candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" in Harris County, Texas. So, if you need assistance trying to determine which race to enter, please call (281)788-3033, and I will do my very best to answer any questions you may have.
