REPORT by AUBREY R. TAYLOR

It’s not that difficult to determine which candidate is leading in Pearland, Texas right now. However, nothing is an exact science; but if our “POWER RANKINGS” are correct, Mayor Tom Reid and Woody Owens should be in pretty good shape right now with comfortable leads in the race for Mayor and Pearland City Council Position #7 respectively. Hey, but before I forget, I would like to remind you that the “EARLY VOTING POLLS” will be open from 7:00AM to 7:00PM on tomorrow: Saturday, June 3, 2017.

THESE ARE RECORD SETTING NUMBERS

I’m getting more “PERSONAL PHONE CALLS” about the “PEARLAND GENERAL RUNOFF ELECTION” than I usually get for a “PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION” or “MIDTERM ELECTION” in Harris County. Heck, what’s up with that? I had to tell a guy the other day that he’d be better served getting on the phone and doing some phone banking for the candidate he supports rather than trying to talk to me about whether I’m right about the race for Mayor of Pearland. Anyways, we’ve already named our “PROHIBITIVE FAVORITES” in the race for Mayor of Pearland and Pearland City Council Position #7 – that’s not going to change. Besides, a careful look at the daily “EARLY VOTING RETURNS” actually supports the data from our “POWER RANKINGS”. Get this: PEARLAND EAST BRANCH (2,642 IN-PERSON VOTERS) through the first four (4) days of Early Voting. PEARLAND WEST BRANCH (979 IN-PERSON VOTERS) through the first four (4) days of Early Voting. And SHADOW CREEK BRANCH (1,084 IN-PERSON VOTERS) though the first four (4) days of Early Voting. Wow! These are record setting numbers guys.

MAYOR TOM REID SHOULD HAVE A FIRM LEAD

Look, based on our research of the “CANVASS REPORTS” and a “COMPILATION” of the data and information we’ve gathered while doing our research – Mayor Tom Reid should win re-election on Saturday, June 10, 2017. And in the race for Pearland City Council Position #7 – Woody Owens should overtake Dalia Kasseb to claim this newly created council seat. Woody Owens trailed Dalia Kasseb by a significant number of votes heading into their “RUNOFF SHOWDOWN” -- but he should be reaping the rewards of the "ROBUST TURNOUT" in East Pearland.

EAST PEARLAND PUTTING ON A SHOW

By most measures, any “NONPARTISAN” politically astute person with an "OPEN-MIND" could look at the numbers being put up in the graphics above by voters in East Pearland and come to a very reasonable assumption that Mayor Tom Reid should be leading Queintin Wiltz in the General Election Runoff race for Mayor of Pearland right now. There’s nothing wrong with being optimistic; but I just have a hard time believing that Quentin Wiltz has somehow convinced all those “EAST PEARLANDERS” to flood into the polls to vote for him. And “NO”, this isn’t an endorsement of Mayor Tom Reid. However, the “POWER RANKINGS” listed below will clearly show why he’s our “PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE” in the race for Mayor of Pearland on Saturday, June 10, 2017. However, I will say that Mayor Tom Reid and his team had better not “REST ON THEIR LAURELS AND GET CAUGHT SLEEPING AGAIN” – on Election Day!

BIG ELECTION DAY PUSH LIKELY

I’m sure Quentin Wiltz and his team are looking over the “EARLY VOTING NUMBERS” and readying themselves to make a “BIG ELECTION DAY PUSH” like they did back on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the General Election. But this time around it may be “TOO LITTLE” and a little bit “TOO LATE” if you ask me; but I could be wrong. And if so, I’m going to apologize to Mr. Wiltz.

WILTZ CAME VERY CLOSE THE FIRST TIME AROUND

To his credit, he (Quentin Wiltz) ran a very “COMPETITIVE RACE” back on Saturday, May 6, 2017. As a matter of fact, he perhaps could have unseated Mayor Tom Reid if he had been the only African American in the race back then. If you remember, Mayor Tom Reid only finished 249 votes ahead of Wiltz back on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the General Election. Now keep in mind, Jimi Amos, the other African American in the race finished with 418 votes. To be sure, someone “SUPPORTING MAYOR TOM REID” needs to be sending Jimi Amos a “THANK YOU” card to let him know how much they appreciate him deciding to run for Mayor of Pearland, Texas back on Saturday, May 6, 2017. In case you don’t know, Mayor Tom Reid finished the night with 3,710 or (48.89%) of the vote, Quentin Wiltz finished the night with 3,461 or (45.61%) of the vote. And Jimi Amos finished the night with 418 or (5.51%) of the vote.

ONLY TIME WILL TELL

Based on an article I read yesterday, in the Houston Chronicle, titled: Lower levels of ‘Pyramid of Hate’ evident in Pearland – It seems like a little desperation is starting to set in as Election Day draws near. I'm just saying. Look, nothing is certain in politics – I could be wrong. Our “POWER RANKINGS” listed below could be nothing more than mere numbers and miscalculations – but I don’t think so.

WILL PEARLAND GO BLUE?

It could be that Pearland, Texas is about to go blue all of a sudden. It could be that the Texas county where Donald J. Trump and Mike Pence (REPUBLICANS) earned 72,791 or (60.07%) of the vote, over Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine (DEMOCRATS) -- who could only actually muster 43,200 votes or (35.65%) of the vote is about to let Quentin Wiltz beat a "PUBLIC SERVANT" who happens to be “VERY WELL LIKED – BELOVED EVEN” on Saturday, June 10, 2017. I mean, do you really think it’s about to go down like that in Pearland – I mean really?
