Meet Gina Nash, Assistant City Manager for the City of Forney, Texas

Gina Nash has been the Assistant City Manager since February 2008. Nash spent several years in the private sector as a consultant working with municipalities on strategic planning and financial management. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M and a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of North Texas.

Gina and her husband live in Forney with their three children.

Meet Kim Buttram, Director of Economic Development for the City of Forney, Texas

Kim Buttram currently serves as Director of Economic Development for the City of Forney. Kim began her career in economic development as the Executive Assistant and Economic Development Coordinator of the Forney Economic Development Corporation in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University. Prior to working for the City of Forney, Kim worked in publishing, real estate, banking and owned her own business.

Kim completed University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute in 2010. She is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Kaufman County and 2012 graduate of Leadership North Texas. She co-founded Leadership Forney, the Forney Arts Council, Forney Downtown Business Association, and serves on the Forney Education Leadership Foundation, Forney Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Kaufman County Leadership Council.

During her tenure as Director of Economic Development for Forney, Kim has facilitated the igniting of downtown revitalization through the assembly of property, business recruitment and community engagement. Additionally, she has teamed alongside city and county leaders and the private sector to bring $17 million in healthcare facilities, $15 million in vertical retail deals and a $23 million infrastructure project which will open up 2,000 acres for future development.

Kim and her husband John have lived in Forney since 1996. They restored a 1941 home and raised their four FISD graduates through the massive growth and changes in Forney.

Specialties: Creative marketing and deal-making, community leadership, effective communication and relationship development, problem-solving.
