On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, the City of Houston will play host to the most important citywide election of our lifetime. In case you haven’t heard, a host of viable candidates will be challenging Mayor Sylvester Turner in the fall. While the official filing period won’t begin until Saturday, July 20, 2019, Bill King, Tony Buzbee, Kendall Baker, Demetria Smith, Derrick Broze, Anton Dowls, and Naoufal Houjami have already made it know, that they plan to challenge Houston’s current mayor.

According to the folks at the Houston City Secretary’s Office candidates looking to run for office on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, can pay a filing fee, or they can collect signatures to have their name placed on the ballot. So, if you are a candidate wanting to run for MAYOR OF HOUSTON you can pay a 1,250.00 dollar filing fee or collect signatures to have your name placed on the ballot. If you are a candidate who would like to run for THE CITY OF HOUSTON CONTROLLER position you can pay a 750.00 dollar filing fee or collect signatures to have your name placed on the ballot. And if you are a candidate looking to run for one of the HOUSTON CITY COUNCIL positions you can pay a 500.00 dollar filing fee or collect signatures to have your name placed on the ballot. However, if you plan on going the route of collecting signatures to have your name placed on the ballot, the exact number of signatures needed won’t be determined until sometime in July of this year from what I understand. But, to be sure, all candidates interested in running for office on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in the City of Houston General Election can call (832)393-1100 to speak directly with someone in the City Secretary’s Office. However, if you have any problem whatsoever in getting your questions answered, you can call me directly at (281)788-3033, and I will try to do what I can to help. And just in case you don’t already know, the City Secretary’s Office can be located at 900 Bagby St, Houston, TX 77002 on the first floor.

Meet Iesheia Ayers-Wilson a 2015 Candidate Running for Houston City Council District A Against Council Member Brenda Stardig

Meet Iesheia Ayers-Wilson a 2015 Candidate Running for Houston City Council for District A Against Council Member Brenda Stardig

DEAR HOUSTONIANS:

Growing up in District A, I have seen a lot of changes; some good -- and some not so good. I am Iesheia Ayers-Wilson, a graduate of Cypress Falls High School. I have attended Sanford Brown Institute along with DeVry University. I am a proud Christian who attends Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor and First Lady Joshua Davis. At Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church we believe in “LIFTing” one another up. I am a dedicated hard-worker who believes in helping people in the community. And that’s one of the reasons I’m running for Houston City Council District A in the Tuesday, November 3, 2015 City of Houston Mayoral Election. I can identify with the everyday citizen of District A. I have walked in their shoes at one point (or another) in my life. If elected, I will work for the entire district. We can accomplish anything we put our minds to by working together. We need CHANGE!!!! And I feel that I’m the CHANGE that we need in District A.

What separates me from the incumbent is:

I am a born leader! I am a leader who understands that the only hope for improving our communities lies in the recognition of God as the Supreme ruler. Houston City Council District A needs a “City Council Woman” with a view that’s different from the previous council members in order to enhance our community for all citizens -- and not just the upper class citizens.

I know I am not going to be liked by everyone, but I am here to serve all the citizens of District A – and do a job.

So, if you want things to stay the same – vote for the incumbent. But if you want real CHANGE, and a council woman with a heart for District A to be your voice at downtown at Houston City Hall vote for me, Iesheia Ayers-Wilson.

Sincerely,

Iesheia Ayers-Wilson
2015 Candidate for Houston City Council District A
5380 W. 34th Street , Ste. 255
Houston ,Texas 77092
Contact: 832-786-8594

Contact the Iesheia Ayers-Wilson for Houston City Council District A campaign to get better acquainted with this candidate. Iesheia Ayers-Wilson is challenging incumbent Council Member Brenda Stardig in the Tuesday, November 3, 2015 City of Houston Mayoral Election. You can (CLICK HERE) to contact Iesheia Ayers-Wilson.

INCREASE IN CRIME: We need to find a way to decrease the injustice being done to law enforcement as well as citizens in District A.

STREET FLOODING: No one wants to feel trapped in their home when the rain comes. The City needs to come up with a better drainage system to help decrease flooding in our community.

PROPERTY TAXES: District A is growing and growing. The more being built the higher the property taxes to maintain the growth. I am willing to work to help keep taxes from increasing and try to find different avenues to decrease taxes for working class citizens.

EDUCATION: I am ready to work with the school districts of District A to help improve communication between the schools and parents. Our children are our future and I feel we need to better equip them for the real world so they can become working productive members of society.

(I know there are many concerns for District A so if you would please contact me and let me know I can work on solutions instead of keeping them on the back burner.)

The POWER is in YOU on Nov. 3, 2015!

*The District A Houston City Council Member pretty much serves areas in northwestern Houston which includes communities north of Interstate 10 along the Katy Freeway. It also covers Spring Branch as well. You can (CLICK HERE) to study the map of this district.

Bishop K.J. Brown Delivers a Direct Word from God to the Christian Community of Faith

DEAR KINGDOM LEADERS:

I am talking to all Apostles, Bishops, Prophets, Prophetess, Evangelists, Pastors, Bible Teachers, Preachers, Ministers and Christian Disciples: The community of faith has allowed the world to redefine so much of what God has designed, that apostasy (the abandonment or renunciation of a religious or political belief) has been allowed to grow through blatant misinterpretation of scripture, outright deception, and the infiltration of false leaders into the Body of Christ. GOD’S SPIRIT SAID: “We established marriage to be holy between man and women. Man has changed the definition of what “WE” designated; therefore great apostasy has grown due to the world’s influence of “MY” people. “MY” people should be the light of this world; but too many of “MY” people are walking in darkness -- yet they are convinced that they’re walking in the light.” -- Thus said the Spirit of God.

In His Service and for His Glory,

Bishop K.J. Brown
CHIEF VISIONARY OFFICER
Bishop K.J. Brown Ministries

PLEASE STAND WITH ME!

DEAR HOUSTONIANS:

Hello, my name is Kendall L. Baker, a native Houstonian, originally from the northeast side. I am a candidate for City Council District F in the 2015 City of Houston elections. First and foremost, I love my city; particularly District F, where I've resided for nearly 25 years and where I’ve pastored a church for over 10 years now. I was employed with the City of Houston for almost 29 years servicing citizens directly in 911 Emergency, Public Works and Engineering, Consumer Affairs Division and as Division Manager of the new improved 311 Help and Information Center. My excellent performance ratings and perfect attendance gave me the ability to see inside the core of what makes the City of Houston work and what doesn’t. Unfortunately, one thing I know for sure is that most of District F (Alief, Tanglewilde, Royal Oaks, Weshchase, Westwood, Briar Meadow, etc.) residents are underrepresented. Why? I'm glad you asked.

District F needs and deserves a candidate who can effectively communicate the needs of the entire district. My experience has equipped me to know every inch of District F extremely well, as well as the entire city. My motto is, "No constituent left behind!" My first task is to make sure our police department has adequate resources and personnel to provide better security in District F. Public safety overall includes improving the infrastructure by making sure roads are safe, by addressing our enormous pothole problem and broken streets. District F streets are broken in part by the underlying deteriorating water and sewer lines. I vow to immediately correct and improve these conditions as your next Councilman.

Second, I stand for “equality” but not “special rights!” Our current Mayor, Annise Parker, is calling for Equal Rights which are in fact particularly and especially designed, aimed, and intended for the LGBT community who wants to implement policy that will threaten religious freedom and criminalize those who stand for the protection of women and children. This ordinance gives men access to women's restrooms and other public accommodations. As your Councilman I'm against this type of ordinance and I will protect religious freedom, family values, women, children and citizens in general.

Third, the key to any city’s financial security is economic development that will attract and incentivize corporations to relocate to Houston and provide more jobs! I pledge to ensure that we do that; especially improving economic development, increasing jobs, building better infrastructure in District F!

Fourth, our city must keep a disciplined fiscal accountability, bringing all debt under control, including the infamous pension fund; controlling unnecessary spending, and ceasing the present Administration’s “kick the debt down the road” mentality. This includes revisiting how we allocate funding to districts based on the actual prioritized needs of districts, not “under the table bargaining” to get a favor from the Mayor. This is why I will also support a Charter change that will allow council members to place items on the agenda, not just the mayor only. In addition, I will address other divisive issues including but not limited to the drainage fee and the feeding ordinance. I will protect, promote, advance, and fight for District F!

Houston, it's time for us to be reunited again and this can be made possible by your vote this November. Please vote for Dr. Kendall L. Baker for District F because I truly care about Houston!

Sincerely,
Dr. Kendall L. Baker for City Council District F. Offers a refreshing change by an experienced candidate for all of District F. Call 832-858-4831 or email us at kendall.baker@sbcglobal.net. The message above from Pastor Kendall L.
