BALY CONCERNED ABOUT DANGEROUS TREND OF PARTISAN POLITICS INFILTRATING LOCAL RACES

MESSAGE FROM JACQUIE BALY TO THOSE WHO TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO LABEL GARY MOORE A RACIST: "I'm noticing a very dangerous trend happening in politics. Partisan politics is infiltrating local races. When I was on City Council I often said there is no Republican or Democratic way to fill a pothole. Even though I'm Conservative, I was elected to serve all of my constituents. And most local elected officials feel this way.

Another thing I'm noticing, if you're a white man running against a minority you are immediately labeled as a racist. Last week the Chronicle and other media outlets were contacted about the local races in Pearland. It was intimated that my close friend Gary Moore is racist and could not represent ALL of the constituents in Pearland (particularly the minorities). This is untrue. First of all, Gary's wife, Christina Moore is Hispanic. And they have been happily married for many years. Second, Gary and I are very close and he has many other friends of color. Not once has he treated us differently because of the color of our skin. And finally---Gary has worked very very hard over the last couple of years representing ALL of his constituents regardless of the color of their skin, religion, etc. I'm very happy to see the voters in Pearland did not fall for this nonsense and re-elected Gary. But it's very sad that we even had to go there in the first place. Just because you are a white man who is conservative does NOT make you a racist!"

CHRISTINA MOORE HURT BY WRONG, HURTFUL TACTICS USED TO TRY TO UNSEAT HER HUSBAND

MESSAGE FROM CHRISTINA MOORE TO THOSE WHO TRIED TO UNSUCCESSFULLY LABEL HER HUSBAND A RACIST: “I know politics is not for the weak, but what happened last week was not only wrong but very hurtful to our city as a whole. I appreciate those who saw this behavior for what it was and stood in support of Gary Moore."
