Audrie Lawton Evans Was the Perfect Choice to Serve as the Presiding Judge for Harris County Civil Court at Law #1

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "I am so proud of Audrie Lawton Evans. The Harris County Commissioners couldn't have chosen a better person to serve out the remainder of Judge George Barnstone's term. According to a post I ran across on Facebook, Pastor Reginald DeVaughn Sr, of Silverlake Church gave the Invocation for the swearing-in ceremony for Audrie Lawton Evans, the newly appointed judge for Harris County Civil Court at Law #1. However, don't forget about the fact, that to hold the bench she's been appointed to, Judge Audrie Lawton Evans must now appear on the ballot in the upcoming 2022 Democratic Party Primary. And if she wins, she will then have to defeat a Republican Party challenger on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in the Midterm Election to keep this bench."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

In case you haven't heard, Audrie Lawton Evans was sworn in as the newly appointed judge for Harris County Civil Court at Law #1 last week. So, just for the record, many of you already know that I wrote an article several months ago describing how I felt about Audrie Lawton Evans. In my article, I declared that she would unseat Judge George Barnstone in the upcoming 2022 Democratic Party Primary, in the race for the Harris County Civil Court at Law #1 bench. So, I can’t express the joy I felt when I learned that the Harris County Commissioners had unanimously appointed Audrie Lawton Evans to take the bench. I’ve long said, that Audrie Lawton Evans would make an excellent judge, and I still feel that way. That being said, I would like to take this moment to publicly congratulate Audrie Lawton Evans, and her family on her recent achievement and wish her well in the coming months as she serves out Judge George Barnstone’s remaining term.

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "I've been seeing this logo floating around a lot on my Facebook newsfeed over the course of the last few months. Way to go Judge Audrie Lawton Evans -- I knew you could do it."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "The lady under that mask above on the right is the Honorable Judge Lesley Briones, the presiding judge for Harris County Civil Court at Law No.4. I really like judge Lesley Briones. She's done an outstanding job since she took the bench. Judge Briones is pictured above with Pastor Reginald DeVaughn Sr, of Silverlake Church (son of Sunnyside) who did the honors of the Invocation for the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Harris County Civil Court #1 Judge Audrie Lawton Evans."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "The dude under that mask above on the left is Commissioner R. Jack Cagle, the Harris County Commissioner for Precinct #4. I really like Commissioner Cagle. He's pictured above with Pastor Reginald DeVaughn Sr, of Silverlake Church (son of Sunnyside) who did the honors of the Invocation for the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Harris County Civil Court #1 Judge Audrie Lawton Evans."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "That's Pastor Reginald DeVaughn Sr, and the Honorable Judge Dawn Rogers talking. Pastor DeVaughn, the senior pastor of Silverlake Church did the honors of the Invocation for the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Harris County Civil Court #1 Judge Audrie Lawton Evans."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: "If you ask me, I think Judge George Barnstone did himself a huge favor by going ahead and relinquishing his bench. Why? Well, like I said before, he would have needed a whole lot of support to hold his seat anyways. And he wasn't going to get it. Audrie Lawton Evans was going to beat him by at least a 20% voter margin in the upcoming 2022 Democratic Party Primary."

Former Judge George Barnstone Stepped Down Following Several Allegations of Judicial Misconduct

HBC NEWSPAPER REPORTS©

For the most part, the story about Judge George Barnstone stepping down was kept pretty quiet. But let the record reflect, that more than likely if Judge Barnstone had not stepped down on his own, he would have possibly been removed from the bench anyways. According to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, Judge Barnstone was allegedly showing bias or prejudice toward litigants and attorneys on the basis of their race, sex, or socioeconomic status. And just for the record, there were 6 different complaints filed against Judge Barnstone, that encompassed at least seven allegations describing Judge George Barnstone’s misconduct. Among the complaints filed against Judge Barnstone, were claims that he used his judicial office as a way to advance his private interest. It was also alleged that Judge George Barnstone was violating the Texas Government Code, by making questionable judicial appointments that may have been conflicts of interests. However, according to published reports about this matter, his attorney, Cris Feldman said, “Rather than engage in the elongated and invasive process of fighting these targeted allegations from his various detractors, Judge Barnstone took the high road and put the public interest and the judiciary first, by voluntarily resigning.”

Nominating the Wrong Candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" Could Have Disastrous Consequences in the November 2022 General Election in Harris County

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Make no mistake about it, who the people of Harris County, Texas choose to give another term to in 2022 must be about substance, job performance, judicial temperament, competence, and whether or not our members of the judiciary are following the law with their rulings. And that being said, in 2022, it is incumbent upon the voters of Harris County to evaluate the job performance of each and every sitting "ELECTED OFFICIAL" on a case-by-case basis and not as a group based on their political party affiliation, ethnicity, or gender.

THINKING ABOUT RUNNING?

If you are a candidate planning to run for office in 2022, you have to select the right candidate to run against. And the second most important thing to understand is that you have to select your race early, to avoid ending up in a crowded field of candidates on "SUPER TUESDAY" in Harris County, Texas. So, if you need assistance trying to determine which race to enter, please call (281)788-3033, and I will do my very best to answer any questions you may have.
