Study Reveals Ann Bennett Could Be the Most Vulnerable Countywide Democrat; Kherkher Reveals His Endorsements

Ann Harris Bennett (top far left) will have to face Chris Daniel (far right) on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in the race for Harris County Tax Assessor/Collector. Teneshia Hudspeth (bottom far left) will be the Democratic nominee placed on the ballot in the race for Harris County Clerk. Hudspeth will have to face Stan Stanart, the former Republican Harris County Clerk who lost his seat to Dr. Diane Trautman who abruptly resigned from her position for supposed health reasons. Attorney Steve Kherkher tells Aubrey R. Taylor, publisher of Houston Business Connections Newspaper© that he's endorsing all of the "2020 DEMOCRATIC JUDICIAL NOMINEES" on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in Harris County, Texas.

Study Shows Some Democrats Like Ann Harris Bennett Could Be Vulnerable in 2020 Without Benefit of Straight-Ticket Voting

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Ann Harris Bennett, the current Harris County Tax Assessor Collector/Voter Registrar, a Democrat, based on her performance back in 2016 appears to be the weakest down-ballot Democratic nominee to make her way on to the Tuesday, November 3, 2020 ballot. Why? Well, in case you don’t know, back in the Tuesday, November 8, 2016, presidential election, Democratic straight-ticket voters gave Ann Harris Bennett, a robust 70,367 straight-ticket vote lead which she nearly relinquished. Yes, you’ve got that right, Ann Harris Bennett won by the slimmest margin of victory when compared to all of her other fellow Democrats who were running countywide in Harris County, Texas back in 2016. Her Republican opponent at the time was (incumbent) Mike Sullivan. As a refresher, Sullivan took it to Ann Harris Bennett in every phase of the game, but was ousted by the huge “ELECTION DAY TURNOUT” conjured up by local Democrats – which saved Ann Harris Bennett from a huge embarrassment back in 2016. Now, you have to keep in mind that Mike Sullivan the Republican actually beat Ann Harris Bennett in the “ABSENTEE BALLOT CATEGORY” by receiving 48,291 absentee ballot votes – while Ann Harris Bennett only received 47,545 absentee ballots. I bet you didn’t know that Mike Sullivan also received more “EARLY VOTES” than Ann Harris Bennett back in 2016. Just in case you don’t remember, 429,782 Harris County voters went to the polls to vote early for Mike Sullivan – while only 425,675 Harris County voters went to the polls to vote early for Ann Harris Bennett. Can you see where I’m going with this? Look, plain and simple, Ann Harris Bennett got really lucky on “ELECTION DAY” as 175,023 Harris County voters pushed her over the top back in 2016. She was also aided by the fact that Mike Sullivan was one of those Republicans who chose to do no sort of outreach to people beyond his core base in my opinion. If you ask me, that’s why Mike Sullivan only received 162,067 votes on Election Day – he didn’t do anything to expand his base. But even still, at the end of the day, Ann Harris Bennett, after being given a 70,367 straight-ticket vote lead, only ended up beating Mike Sullivan by 8,103 votes. If Sullivan had done any measurable outreach, I believe that he could have held off Ann Bennett and kept his seat back in 2016. Why does this matter? Well, when Ann Harris Bennett and Teneshia Hudspeth, her fellow Democrat face off against Republicans Chris Daniel and Stan Stanart in the countywide races for Harris County Tax Assessor Collector/Voter Registrar and Harris County Clerk on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, anything can happen. How can I say this? First of all, I’ve been studying Harris County politics for nearly 30-years – so I know what the hell I’m talking about – I’m not playing the guessing game like some inexperienced consultants running around Harris County, Texas these days. Look, some Democrats are more vulnerable than others; but they all had better wake up and start campaigning like there’s no tomorrow! Once again, straight-ticket voting has been abolished – so it’s GAME ON on November 3, 2020. LET’S GO!!! In other Harris County, Texas happenings, Attorney Steve Kherkher told me last week that he’s casting his ballot for “ALL THE 2020 DEMOCRATIC JUDICIAL NOMINEES” on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. But I am encouraging you to please do your own homework prior to waltzing into the voting booth and casting your ballot for every candidate who has a “D” or “R” in front of their name – that’s just not a smart thing to do. And please don’t forget that “EARLY VOTING” will begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, and end on Friday, October 30, 2020. Oh, as a quick reminder to every Democratic nominee who believes they’ve won already, get this, Ann Harris Bennett received 648,243 votes for 50.31% of the vote back in the 2016 presidential election. Her opponent Mike Sullivan received 640,140 for 49.69% of the vote. Why does this matter? Well, the undervotes in their race was 46,360 – which was more than enough for Mike Sullivan to defeat Ann Harris Bennett, if he had cared enough to ask for their vote.

Steve Kherkher, A Well-Known National Attorney Says Harris County Voters Should Cast their Vote for All of the Down-Ballot Democratic Judicial Nominees

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Make no mistake about it, nobody knows Texas judges like the lawyers who practice before them. So, the thoughts and opinions of local attorneys like Steve Kherkher will carry a lot more weight on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, when “2020 DEMOCRATIC JUDICIAL NOMINEES”, must face off against their Republican rivals in Harris County, Texas. Now, while some political pundits, operatives, party bosses and yes, even some of the candidates themselves believe that Democrats are going to run the table and sweep Harris County, Texas in 2020, this is not a certainty. After all, like the good book says, “Faith without Works is Dead,” in the book of James, 2nd Chapter. Hell, some of these Democrats are walking around like they’ve won already. And worse part about it all, is that some of the Republican nominees are already waving the white flag and we’ve not even made it to Labor Day yet. Look everybody, there won’t be any straight-ticket voting on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Let me repeat that for the folk’s way in the back who, don’t seem to be listening/paying attention to me, THERE WON’T BE ANY STRAIGHT-TICKET VOTING in Texas on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Why is this significant? Well, this means that every, “2020 JUDICIAL NOMINEE” must develop their own individual brand and search for creative ways to stand out on Harris County’s ballot – which happens to be one of the longest ballots in these United States of America. Look, to be brutally honest, I don’t think Democrats have fully grasped the stark reality that they are no longer ‘hunting the rabbit or should I say Republicans’ perse; but they are now the ones in the vulnerable position of being chased – or hunted if you will.

To win her bid for re-election she must now defeat veteran attorney Bruce Bain, who has already launched his campaign to convince registered Harris County voters (beyond his base) to cast their ballot for him, regardless of their political party affiliation. And now that straight-ticket voting has been abolished in Texas – expect for Bruce Bain to give Judge Ursula Hall all she can handle on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Robinson has endorsed Judge Ursula Hall in this race. Political Consultant/Strategist Carvel Jay has endorsed Judge Ursula Hall in this race. According to Demetria Smith she's going to hold her vote in this particular race. For the record, Attorney Steve Kherkher has endorsed Judge Ursula Hall in this race.

Judge Elaine Palmer has never lost a race in her political career since taking the bench as the presiding judge for the 215th Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas. She has faced challenges from within her own party in the past. However, nobody has come close to beating her yet. Judge Palmer has withstood negative articles in the daily newspaper, and attack ads run against her on radio and television stations. However, through it all, she maintained the judicial temperament, grace, and poise all members of the judiciary should posses.
