New Photos of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee from Memorial Day Have Surfaced; Black Leaders Are Praying

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) appears to be poised to continue to do things on her own terms after recently being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Some great photos of the Honorable Congresswoman were taken yesterday at a Memorial Day Celebration. PRAYERS ARE FLOWING... It’s evident that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee is having difficulty walking and must be helped along. That said, the “Mayor” of Sunnyside, Sandra Massie Hines, and other strong women like Florida “Flo” Cooper (pictured with State Rep. Ron Reynolds) and many others who love the Honorable Congresswoman are growing concerned. By her own admission via text, Florida “Flo” Cooper is a cancer survivor herself. As for State Rep. Ron Reynolds (bottom for right), it is unclear if he will throw his hat into the ring to succeed Jackson Lee (74) when she steps aside or bide his time and wait for Congressman Al Green (76), to relinquish his 9th Congressional District of Texas seat.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee appeared happy and in much better spirits in the photo taken of her at yesterday’s Memorial Day Celebration in the sweltering Houston heat. However, if you look closely, someone on her team thoughtfully placed a fan around her neck to keep her body temperature down.

Sandra Massie Hines (center) is one of the strongest “BLACK LEADERS” in Harris County, Texas, who many local politicians don’t appear to be overlooking. The “Mayor” of Sunnyside, Texas (Sandra Massie Hines) is pictured above with former Houston Police Chier Art Acevedo (left) and former Houston Police Chief Troy Finner, as a testament to her stroke in the Democratic stronghold.

The calls for State Rep. Ron E. Reynolds (HD-27) in Fort Bend, Texas, to run for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s 18th Congressional of Texas seat are growing louder. However, State Rep. Reynolds should not use his political capital to run for the 18th Congressional seat but instead should continue to bide his time, rebrand himself, and begin preparation to seize the 9th Congressional District of Texas seat when Congressman Al Green, who is 76 years of age steps aside. State Rep. Ron Reynolds is pictured above with Florida “Flo” Cooper, a woman who has played pivotal roles in helping politicians get elected for decades.

I’m Aubrey R. Taylor, the Houston Business Connections Newspaper publisher and investigative reporter. I have conducted investigations in Harris County, Texas, since the 1990s and plan to closely monitor the “ABSENTEE BALLOT FLOW” currently flooding into the Harris County Clerk’s Office to protect my interests and the interests of my clients, advertisers, and readers.

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

Being allegedly diagnosed with cancer is no laughing matter. And being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is nothing to play around with. However, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has decided to do what Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has done for decades – continue to remain visible as she works hard for the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas.

To some, the Honorable Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee should rest at home, surrounded by friends and family. To others, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has earned the right to close out this chapter of her life on her terms.

I’m inclined to agree with the latter. No matter what you think of the “HARDEST WORKING CONGRESSWOMAN” in the business – she’s earned the right to do whatever she wants as her reign as the U.S. Congresswoman for the 18th Congressional District ends.

From being a municipal court judge and city council member to serving in the halls of the United States Congress, “SHE-JACK” has done things her way. And with her recent alleged pancreatic cancer diagnosis, it appears that she’s decided to do as she ‘damn well please’ between now and “LABOR DAY” as she contemplates yielding her congressional seat.

A day after my report revealed what sources close to the Honorable Congresswoman Sheila had admitted, in true “SHE-JACK FASHION,” Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee showed up in the Heights to commemorate and remember the fallen.

“Today, at our annual #MemorialDay commemoration in the Heights, we honored the lives of our fallen service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation,” said Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee at the event.

“PRAYERS ARE FLOWING.”

Since I revealed that sources close to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I’ve received numerous messages from well-wishers. However, the message from Sandra Massie Hines, the widely regarded Mayor of Sunnyside, nearly brought me to tears.

“Praying in agreement for God’s amazing healing power over her life,” said “Mayor” Sandra Massie Hines. “The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much,” she proclaimed.

Sandra Massie Hines went on to pray, “In Jesus’ name, I rebuke anything that rises against her, cancer, sickness, disease, and any devices that the enemy of God uses to plant fear.”

“I decree and declare divine mercy and the power of God to heal, forgive, and restore her body, soul, and mind,” said the “Mayor” of Sunnyside.

She closed out her prayer by declaring, “In Jesus’ name. Only ‘Speak Life. God is listening.”

Another strong Black leader by the name of Florida “Flo” Cooper sent me an uplifting text revealing that she, too, had been diagnosed with cancer back in 1989.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart leaning not on your OWN understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and HE will direct your path,” proclaimed Florida “Flo” Cooper, one of the most respected African American women in Texas.

I’ve always admired and respected Florida “Flo” Cooper and her putting the people first. “God is a way-maker, miracle-worker, and promise keeper of light amid darkness,” she explained in her text.

“When I was sick in 1989 and didn’t know when I would get well, HE healed this bruised and broken body from all of the effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and all that comes with it,” says Florida “Flo” Cooper, better known simply as “Flo” to me.

In true Florida “Flo” Cooper fashion, she compelled me to “HANG TOUGH” even when the road is rough! “I know God will care for you when you trust and never doubt. God will surely bring you out,” she proclaimed as she closed her text.

“A NEW CHAPTER.”

As Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee prepares to close out her storied chapter, we must understand that change is the only constant in life. Therefore, at the end of our lives, it won’t be our accolades, wealth, status, or political clout that will matter.

Family matters most. And if Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s family sees fit to have her out in this sweltering heat galavanting around Harris County, Texas, for final photo-ops – I’m good with it. However, in the spirit of public concern, the time has come for “THE BLACK COMMUNITY” to begin preparing for the next generation of leaders to emerge.

African Americans from other parts of the country are laughing at the fact that we here in Harris County, Texas, have allowed the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” regime to use “MUSLE-ACTION” and “MAFIA-STYLED TACTICS” to seize important elected positions and hold them for 30 years, 40 years, and in some cases 50 years without being taken to task for not developing exit strategies and then passing the torch.

My prayer is that new “BLACK LEADERS” will rise up and respectfully seize the opportunities that lie ahead as career politicians like Congressman Al Green (76), Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (74), and Mayor Sylvester Turner (69) step aside.

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”

The polls are open through 7:00 p.m. today, and voters in Harris County, especially Democrat voters, have several tough decisions to make. I pray that everyone reading this report will use my “VOTER EMPOWERMENT SLATE” to assist them in making a quality decision at the ballot box.

If you are in Fort Bend, please remember the name Fred Taylor if you are voting in the Democratic Party Primary runoff election and Kenneth Omoruyi if you’re voting in the “GOP” primary.

In Harris County, Texas, please remember the names Christian Garcia and Kenneth Omoruyi if you are a Republican and live inside the boundaries of the 29th Congressional District of Texas or the 7th Congressional District of Texas.

All “UNAFFILIATED VOTERS” are strongly encouraged to jot down the names of Molly Cook, Angie Thibodeaux, Shawn Thierry, Jerry Zimmerer, Gemayel Haynes, Annette Ramirez, and Jerry Rodriguez.

Many candidates endorsed by “HOUSTON BUSINESS CONNECTIONS NEWSPAPER” are long shots in their runoff races. However, after much research, I genuinely feel that (of the two choices available) our “ENDORSED CANDIDATES” are the best choices available today.
