Governor Abbott Must Hold His Position; Teneshia Hudspeth Is Not Part of Commissioner Ellis’s Political Regime

Governor Greg Abbott (top left) painted Harris County with a broad brush when stating his reasoning for not calling the "SPECIAL ELECTION" to fill the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat. What Governor Abbott appears to have been alluding to is the fact that Commissioner Rodney Ellis and members of his "CULT-LIKE" political regime have a penchant for allegedly using "ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOTS" to swing local elections in places like the 18th Congressional District of Texas in their favor. If you remember, Democrats did not start dominating Republicans using "MAIL BALLOTS" until Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis left the legislature and became the Precinct One Commissioner in 2016, after the untimely death of the late Commissioner El Franco Lee. STANDING STRONG... State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right) came to the defense of Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth after Governor Abbott's statements about Harris County having problematic elections in the past.

"ABBOTT IS RIGHT."

“Listen, there’s gonna be time to do it,” explained Governor Abbott. “Know this: that election is in Harris County, and Harris County is a repeat failure as it concerns operating elections. Had I called that very quickly, it could have led to a failure in that election, just like Harris County has failed in other elections,” explained Governor Abbott.

He said, “They need to have adequate time to operate a fair and accurate election, not a crazy election like what they’ve conducted in the past.”

“I will be announcing that sometime soon, but I wanna make sure that Harris County has all the opportunity to get this right, unlike what they’ve done in the past.”

When Commissioner Rodney Ellis (Democrat) supposedly defeated former Judge Maria T. Jackson in the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic Party Primary race for Harris County Commissioner (PRECINCT ONE), he did so by running up the score on Judge Jackson in the "ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOT" category. If you look closely at the 9,104 absentee mail ballots received by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and the 1,989 absentee mail ballots received by Judge Maria T. Jackson, what you have to understand is that there were only 22,780 absentee mail ballots cast countywide in the 2020 Democratic Party Primary. A SERIOUS RED FLAG... Only 22,780 absentee mail ballots were cast countywide in the 2020 Democratic Party Primary, which makes it extremely hard to believe that nearly half the "ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOTS" cast in the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic Party Primary Election were got cast in the (PRECINCT ONE) County Commissioner race, where Ellis faced off against Judge Maria T. Jackson. What was witnessed in Harris County, Texas, when Commissioner Rodney Ellis supposedly defeated Judge Maria T. Jackson, one of the strongest Democrats with tremendous "NAME IDENTIFICATION," looked suspicious then and is even more suspect now.

Governor Abbott Must Hold His Position; Teneshia Hudspeth Is Not Part of Commissioner Ellis’s Political Regime

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

A battle between our Republican governor (Greg Abbott) and local Democrats is intensifying as our distinguished Governor Greg Abbott still refuses to set a date for the “SPECIAL ELECTION” to fill the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat.

First, boisterous Congresswoman Jasmine Crocket (TX-30) mocks Governor Abbott’s handicap by referring to him as “Governor Hot Wheels”. Then it holds fast and doubles down on her comment – as Democrats across the country defend her as if she’s their hero.

After insensitively mocking Governor Abbott, Democrats, including Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., threaten to sue Governor Abbott if he continues to hold off on calling a “SPECIAL ELECTION” to fill the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat.

“Nearly 800,000 Houstonians are without a voice in Congress. Abbott has called emergency elections before – he just doesn’t want to do it here,” explained Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

According to Menefee, Governor Abbott is trying to keep the seat open to benefit the Trump administration and House Republicans.

“Congress is voting on critical issues. TX-18 deserves a representative not – not months from now,” proclaims Menefee in a published report.

MORE DEMOCRATS VOICE THEIR DISPLEASURE…

Earlier this week, five Democratic lawmakers from Houston came forward to voice their opinions. They urged Governor Abbott to move things along and get a date for the “SPECIAL ELECTION” set sooner rather than later.

State Rep. Jolanda Johnson (HD-147), a potential candidate who may enter the race for the 18th Congressional District of Texas, stepped to the podium flanked by several colleagues at the Texas State Capital.

Jones, along with State Reps. Christina Morales (HD-145), Lauren Ashley Simmons (HD-146), Charlene Ward Johnson (HD-139), and State Senator Molly Cook (Senate District 15) expressed their concern and dismay regarding Governor Abbott’s reluctance to set a date for the “SPECIAL ELECTION” last Thursday.

“The truth is that Governor Greg Abbott is rigging the U.S. Congress to protect Republicans,” explained State Rep. Jolanda Jones.

Jones explained, “My constituents in House District 147, who all reside in the historic 18th Congressional District, are without representation.”

COMMISSIONER RODNEY ELLIS SPEAKS OUT…

In a Facebook post, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, one of the culprits who placed the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas in this predicament in the first place, is also trying to shift the blame to Governor Abbott.

“Nonsense. The 800,000 constituents of TX-18 are not a bargaining chip to be used by Greg Abbott to impress Elon Musk and Donald Trump,” proclaimed Commissioner Ellis.

Ellis compelled Governor Abbott to get the show on the road. “No more excuses,” he said. “Call the election,” demanded Commissioner Ellis.

GOVERNOR ABBOTT BLAMES SHIFTS BLAME…

In an interview with the Nextar Media Group, Governor Abbott explained his reasoning for not jumping the gun and setting the “SPECIAL ELECTION” to appear on the upcoming Saturday, May 3, 2025, “UNIFORM ELECTION” ballot.

COUNTY CLERK TENESHIA HUDSPETH RESPONDS…

Let me publicly declare that we have one of the best County Clerks we’ve ever had in Harris County, Texas. Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth is the ultimate professional and has done a stellar job since having our elections returned to her office.

“Since the Texas Legislature returned election administration duties to the Harris County Clerk’s Office on September 1, 2024, my office has successfully conducted eight elections. We remain fully prepared to conduct the Congressional District 18 election as soon as the governor issues the order,” State Hudspeth, in response to Governor Abbott’s criticism.

While Hudspeth is a Democrat, she does not play party politics with her professional duties. She’s not attached to the (political regimes), like the “CULT-LIKE” political regime, where Commissioner Ellis serves as the “GRAND WIZARD” in any way, shape, or form, in my opinion.

County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth is “NOT” one of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s “PUPPETS” like Harris County Attorney Christian Manefee, whom Ellis controls and tells when to go to the bathroom to take a tinkle.

Our County Clerk (Teneshia Hudspeth) is off-limits and should not get drugged into this fiasco the people of the 18th Congressional District are now facing.

Commissioner Rodney Ellis, the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, the late Congressman Sylvester Turner, County Attorney Christian Menefee, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter (Erica Lee Carter), and other members of Ellis’s “CULT-LIKE” political regime, like Councilwoman Letitia Plummer, are the culprits – not Governor Greg Abbott.

Members of Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s “CULT-LIKE” political regime could have easily avoided this entire situation by simply compelling Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee to take her needed rest and pass the torch to someone younger instead of running for re-election on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the Democratic Party Primary Election against former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards, after “SHE-JACK” was soundly defeated by fellow Democrat John Whitmire in the “RUNOFF RACE” for Mayor of Houston, Texas, on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

If you remember, “SHE-JACK” was exposed in her loss to John Whitmire on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Whitmire beat “SHE-JACK” like a rented mule (donkey) as he romped to victory over “THE CONGRESSWOMAN,” who was supposed to be unbeatable.

John Whitmire received 129,809 votes, for 64.4%, and Sheila Jackson Lee only received 71,719 votes, for 35.6%, in one of the most lopsided City of Houston Mayoral “RUNOFF ELECTIONS” in recent memory.

Instead of “SHE-JACK” remaining bedridden, she instead double-crossed former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards, who reluctantly dropped out of the 2023 mayors race after allegedly getting badgered, harassed, and bullied by members of the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” political regime.

What the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” political regime did to compel Chris Hollins and Amanda Edwards to abort their dreams of claiming Houston City Hall was reprehensible.

And to have Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee lose on Saturday, December 9, 2023, and then limp (with her cane) over to the Harris County Democratic Party and sign up to run against Amanda Edwards on Monday, December 11, 2023, was a lowdown, dirty, political stunt that has come back to bite members of the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” political regime in the rear end.

If the ELLIS/TURNER/LEE political regime members had done the right thing and backed Amanda Edwards, the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas would not be without representation today.

The first blunder made by the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” political regime was to run Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee for re-election after they could visibly see that her body was wasting away and getting ravaged by cancer as she was suffering.

But things got much worse for the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” after Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee selfishly decided to die in office rather than pass the torch to a successor.

On August 13, 2024, a visibly sick, feeble, and cancer-stricken Sylvester Turner got paraded through the sanctuary of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church by members of the “ELLIS/TURNER/LEE” political regime as the best person to represent the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas in the 119th Session of the United States Congress – boy were they wrong.

In hindsight, if Councilwoman Letitia Plummer had not illegally interjected herself into the mix, the 80 or so Democratic Precinct Chairs who were present at the August 13, 2024, meeting to elect a nominee to appear on the 2024 Presidential Election ballot, Amanda Edward may have defeated defeated Sylvester Turner, who was visibly dying a slow and agonizing death.

Instead of doing the right thing and electing Amanda Edwards, a drop-dead gorgeous African American female who is intelligent, witty, ambitious, and brave, the Harris County Democratic Precinct Chairs elected to nominate a visibly sick and dying Sylvester Turner by a margin of 41 to 37, which was another mistake.

SLY TRIED BUT COULD NOT MAKE IT…

The reason why Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his “CULT-LIKE” political regime members wanted a sick and feeble Sylvester Turner as their U.S. Representative appears to, in hindsight, be tied to the fact that if he died in office after signing up to run for re-election on Monday, December 9, 2025, or later, they would be able to choose his successor by a vote of the Harris County Democratic Party Precinct Chairs, rather than allowing the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas an opportunity to have a say in the matter – that’s the truth.

Commissioner Rodney Ellis and other members of his “CULT-LIKE” political regime made another blunder with the gamble that Sylvester Turner would remain alive until after he signed up to run for re-election on Monday, December 9, 2025, for the Tuesday, March 3, 2025, Democratic Party Primary.

Instead of remaining alive to serve a full calendar year, Congressman Sylvester Turner succumbed to his illness on March 5, 2025, after attending President Donald Trump’s “JOINT SESSION OF CONGRESS” the night before, after only serving two months.

So, in the end, “SLY” couldn’t hold up to his end of the bargain, as he got called home – wherever he must spend eternity.

STATE REP. REYNOLDS DEFENDS HUDSPETH…

As State Rep. Ron Reynolds ways his options, he’s still a Democrat and courageously stepped forward to voice his full support of Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth on Friday, April 4, 2025, after our distinguished Governor Greg Abbott questioned her readiness.

“I fully support Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth in her OUTSTANDING professionalism in running elections in Harris County. Governor Abbott’s stated reasons are ABSOLUTELY false and purely partisan to help Trump and Elon Musk,” explained State Rep. Reynolds via his FACEBOOK account in a post featuring himself and County Clerk Hudspeth.

For those who might not know, State Rep. Ron Reynolds represents House District 27 in Fort Bend County but spends much of his time in Harris County, Texas.

Reynolds was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2010 and is a “POLITICAL TRAILBLAZER” who was elected as the first African American elected to represent Fort Bend County in the Texas House of Representatives since the “GLORY DAYS” when Black legislators held 44 seats in the Texas Legislature during the Reconstruction era, which is lot more than the (16) African Americans currently have at the State Capital.

Reynolds was elected Chair of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus in August 2022. He led the charge to form the first-ever Texas Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Legislative Caucus in 2023 and now serves as its Chair.

As of today, the honorable and highly distinguished State Rep. Ron Reynolds is seriously contemplating stepping into the upcoming “SPECIAL ELECTION” to fill out the remainder of the late Congressman Sylvester Turner’s term.

For the record, candidates seeking to run for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat do not have to live inside the district’s boundaries to do so. And if State Rep. Ron Reynolds decides to enter the race, he “IS NOT” bound by Texas’s “RESIGN TO RUN” law and could run for the 18th Congressional District of Texas and still retain his seat as the State Representative for House District 27, in Fort Bend County, Texas.

The only drawback to State Rep. Ron Reynolds's running for the coveted 18th Congressional District of Texas seat is that he would likely step on many toes – if he elects to do so.

On top of stepping on toes, State Rep. Reynolds would also risk blemishing his virtually unblemished winning streak since winning the House District 27 seat.

Another drawback for State Rep. Reynolds is that he’s currently serving the people of Fort Bend County in the 89th Texas Legislative Session, which began on January 14, 2024, and won’t end until June 2, 2025, which would make it difficult (nest to impossible) for him to mount a credible for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas if Governor Greg Abbott succumbs to the “PRESSURE TACTICS” he’s getting bombarded with as Democrats try to force him to set the “SPECIAL ELECTION” for Saturday, June 7, 2025, instead of the more realistic election date of Tuesday, November 4, 2025, which would all potential candidates the ability to mount credible campaigns for the coveted 18th Congressional District of Texas.

ABBOTT MUST IGNORE HIS CRITICS…

As things stand today (Saturday, April 5, 2025), there are now, (220) Republican Members serving in the 119th United States Congress, (213) Democrat Members serving in the 119th United States Congress, and only two vacancies – or open seats.

Both open seats in the 119th United States Congress became open because the Democratic members died while in office. For the record, the late Congressman Sylvester Turner (D-TX) died on March 5, 2025, and the late Congressman Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) passed away on March 13, 2025, a little over a week after Turner.

On September 23, 2025, the “SPECIAL ELECTION” for the 7th Congressional District seat in Arizona will take place, and a candidate will get elected to serve out the remainder of the late Congressman Raul Grijalva’s unexpired term.

As it relates to the 18th Congressional District of Texas, Democrats have decided to use pressure tactics to try to force Governor Greg Abbott to set a date for the “SPECIAL ELECTION” before the already scheduled Tuesday, November 4, 2025, “UNIFORM ELECTION,” which happens to be the best possible date.

In my opinion, Governor Abbott should ignore the “PRESSURE TACTICS” being deployed by members of Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s “CULT-LIKE” political regime of bandits.

These dirty, lowdown, filthy “NEGRO POLITICIANS” connected to Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s “CULT-LIKE” political regime are trying to pressure Governor Greg Abbott into placing the “SPECIAL ELECTION” for the 18th Congressional District of Texas on the upcoming Saturday, June 7, 2025, “RUNOFF ELECTION” ballot, in Harris County, Texas, which would benefit Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, who happens to be a “PUPPET” having his strings pulled by “THE PUPPET MASTER,” Commissioner Rodney Ellis.

Why these “NEGRO POLITICIANS” are now pushing for the “SPECIAL ELECTION” to be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, and not later in the year on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, is obvious.

The current 89th Texas Legislative Session began on January 14, 2025, and will end on Monday, June 2, 2025. State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27) and possibly a handful of other legislature members could be contemplating a run for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat after the 89th Texas Legislative Session ends.

What members of the “CULT-LIKE” political regime headed by “THE PUPPET MASTER” Commissioner Rodney Ellis and County Attorney Christian Menefee his “PUPPET” are trying to do by threatening lawsuits against Governor Abbott is nothing but a ploy to make our distinguished governor cower before their political regime.

If members of Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s “CULT-LIKE” political regime are successful in getting Governor Abbott to cower before them – it’s game over.

Gov. Abbott must not bend, bow, or cower in the onslaught of threats and insults he’s getting bombarded with and cave to the pressure; by doing so, he will show himself to be weak and will make it more difficult for a member of the Texas Legislature like State Rep. Ron Reynolds (HD-27), State Rep. Jolanda Jones (HD-147), or State Rep. Christina Morales (HD-145), to step into the race for the 18th Congressional District of Texas and mount viable campaigns.

So, suppose Governor Abbott is sued and forced by a judge to place the “SPECIAL ELECTION” on the upcoming Saturday, June 7, 2025. In that case, State Rep. Ron Reynolds and other potential members of the legislature will have difficulty trying to campaign for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat that has become available after the untimely death of the late Congressman Sylvester Turner, who died back on March 5, 2025.

SIGNS OF DESPERATION BY MENEFEE…

Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee’s cowardly side is already beginning to manifest. Why is he afraid to allow time for the field to develop? County Attorney Christian Menefee and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis have a “SPIRIT OF COWARDICE” flowing through their veins.

Remember, the eyes are the gateway to the soul of a person. That said, the next time you see a video or photo of County Attorney Christian Menefee, pay close attention to his eyes – he’s a cowardly man, getting propped up by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, who could be just as cowardly as Menefee.

Menefee will get eaten alive in Washington, D.C., commonly called “THE SWAMP.” County Attorney Christian Menefee can’t think for himself here in Bayou City. How effective will he be in the United States Congress? Menefee is little more than a goldfish, guppy, or minnow in the bayou – he isn’t ready for the “SWAMP.”

Listen, if elected as the next U.S. Representative for the 18th Congressional District of Texas, Christian Menefee will be flipping, flopping, floundering, and gasping for air like a fish out of water trying to navigate through the treacherous waters of Washington, D.C.'s “SWAMP.”

COMMISSIONER ELLIS’S GRIP IS WEAKENING…

The notion that Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis owns local “BLACK FEMALE JUDGES” is false and straight from the pit of hell. Sure, Commissioner Ellis has complete control over a few local “BLACK POLITICIANS,” but he does not have control of local courtrooms.

Commissioner Ellis has a handful of local Democrat judges in his pocket, but that’s not what I’m dealing with today – there’s a serious problem forming.

Battlelines are being drawn as Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s “CULT-LIKE” political regime members align themselves in “BATTLE ARRAY” to protect the stranglehold that they’ve held on the 18th Congressional District of Texas for over 30 years.

Listen. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee prostituted herself to Ken Lay, the late embattled president and CEO of the corrupt ENRON Corporation. NOPE. I’m not claiming that “SHE-JACK” walked the streets of the 18th Congressional District selling her body.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee allowed Ken Lay and his buddies to exploit her and her talents for selfish reasons in 2024 when she challenged Congressman Craig Washington.

If you remember, “SHE-JACK” was a different breed of woman who transplanted to Houston, Texas, from Queens, New York. She moved to Houston in 1987 and was appointed a municipal judge by Mayor Kathy Whitmire, the sister-in-law of Houston’s current Mayor, John Whitmire.

In 1989, “SHE-JACK” was elected to the Houston City Council, and from there, she got recruited to take out Congressman Craig Washington, a strong African American man who would not bend his knee to Ken Lay and his powerful buddies.

THE COMMISSIONER’S BAND OF PUPPETS…

What I need for everyone reading this report to understand is that Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his “PUPPETS” like Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, County Commissioner Lesley Briones, County Attorney Christian Menefee, City Controller Chris Hollins, City Councilwoman Letitia Plummer, Constable James “Smokie” Phillips, and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter (Erica Lee Carter) are a present danger to the African American Community.

These “PUPPETS” allow the “PUPPET MASTER,” Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, to pull their strings like a circus act.

As a community, African Americans living inside the boundaries of the 18th Congressional District of Texas must realize that a battle for the heart and soul of their beloved dwelling is currently underway.

Based on official ethnicity data found in the Cook Partisan Voting Index, the 18th Congressional District of Texas is 43.4% Hispanic, 32.2% Black, 16.7% White, 4.9% Asian, and 2.2% Two or more races – which means that what’s unfolding will affect more than Black people.

All things considered, if Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his “CULT-LIKE” regime of political bandits had run Sylvester Turner for the “UNEXPIRED-TERM” which was only two months, and run Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter (Erica Lee Carter), or another healthy member of their little “CULT-LIKE” political regime for the two-year “FULL TERM,” the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas would have a representative today.

If you want to know the truth, selfishness, arrogance, ego, corruption, heartlessness, and a thirst for power are the driving factors behind what the late Congresswoman Shiela Jackson Lee did, and the late Congressman Sylvester did to the people of the 18th Congressional District.

Three out of the last four 18th Congressional District Congress members have died in office, which is why running a dying Sylvester Turner for the “FULL TERM” when he was visibly sick, feeble, and wasting away made no plausible sense.

If you think back to Congressman Mickey Leland, he served as the U.S. Representative for the 18th Congressional District of Texas from January 3, 1979, through August 7, 1989; he died in a plane crash in Gabela, Ethiopia, during a mission to Fugnido, Ethiopia.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2011. She didn’t tell the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas until 2012, which means she kept her diagnosis a secret for over a year.

When “SHE-JACK” developed pancreatic cancer, she, once again, chose not to resign or tell the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas that she was dying.

It wasn’t until my reporting caught the attention of the local media networks that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee finally revealed her cancer diagnosis on a Sunday night to control the narrative and prevent the story from getting aired the following morning.

It wasn’t long after revealing to the people of the 18th Congressional District that she had pancreatic cancer that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee selfishly allowed herself to waste away in office without resigning and passed away on July 19, 2024, when she could have chosen a successor, and protected the constituents she claimed to love.

Sheila Jackson Lee served as the U.S. Representative for the 18th Congressional District of Texas from January 3, 1995, through July 19, 2024.

As for “SLY,” he wasn’t in any shape to be running for Congress when he walked into that Harris County Democratic Party Precinct Chair “ELECTION” held at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church on August 13, 2024, to throw his name in the hat to replace the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee on the November 5, 2024, Presidential Election ballot in the race for the 18th Congressional District of Texas.

Ultimately, after two rounds, a very weak, feeble, and dying Sylvester Turner, with the help of At-Large Position #4, Councilwoman Letitia Plummer, was able to finagle his way into getting the nomination by a (41 to 37) margin of victory.

CHRISTIAN MENEFEE MUST GET REJECTED…

What the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas need to come to grips with is that there was nothing honorable about SLY interjecting himself into the 2024 race to succeed the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee when he knew that his cancer had returned with a vengeance. He possibly didn’t have much longer to live.

As a refresher, in November 2022, Sylvester Turner, while he was still the Mayor of the City of Houston, disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

According to “SLY,” he claimed that he had undergone surgery and was cancer-free after six weeks of radiation treatment. That said, Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, and Councilwoman Letitia Plummer were fully aware that something was wrong with Sylvester Turner when they pushed his candidacy on August 13, 2024, at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, to those 80-or-so Democratic Precinct Chairs.

In essence, what Sylvester Turner did was selfish in the worst way because he knew he was dying. He still pushed his feeble, deteriorating body into the race to replace “SHE-JACK” when he and his fellow members of Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s “CULT-LIKE” political regime were fully aware that he was visibly wasting away.

GOVERNOR ABBOTT HOLDS THE CHIPS…

I like Hakeem Jeffries, the House Minority Leader (D-N.Y.). Still, I don’t like the tactic he is trying to use to compel “OUR GOVERNOR” to set a date for the “SPECIAL ELECTION” to fill the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas.

Threatening to sue Gov. Greg Abbott for holding off on calling for a “SPECIAL ELECTION” when Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressman Sylvester Turner, County Attorney Christian Menefee, and other “PUPPETS” who are having their strings pulled by Ellis, is asinine and not very smart.

Sue Abbott for what? There’s nothing in the law books that says that Governor Abbott can’t simply ignore the entire situation and leave the 18th Congressional District of Texas seat open until the Tuesday, November 3, 2026, General Midterm Election, if that’s what he decides to do – that’s a fact.

For those of you who might not know, according to the law, Sec. 204.021. VACANCY FILLED AT SPECIAL ELECTION. An unexpired term in the office of a United States representative may be filled only by a special election in the same manner provided by Chapter 203 for the legislature, except that Section 203.013 does not apply.

When a U.S. Representative (Member of Congress) dies in office, as the late Congressman Sylvester Turner did on March 5, 2025, “the Executive Authority” is authorized to issue orders for “SPECIAL ELECTIONS” to fill House vacancies. In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott is “the Chief Executive Authority” and will be responsible for calling a “SPECIAL ELECTION” when he’s ready.

THE ELECTION SHOULD BE SET FOR NOVEMBER…

What constitutes an emergency for the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas right now does not necessarily constitute an emergency for Governor Greg Abbott and “THE GOP” by any stretch of the imagination.

Governor Abbott did not create the dire situation that the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas face. Who’s at fault?

Commissioner Rodney Ellis, the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and the late Congressman Sylvester Turner are at fault – not Governor Abbott. Houston City Councilwoman Letitia Plummer and Ellis, She-Jack, and Sly must bear some blame. When you get down to it, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee also played a role in getting things to this point of desperation.

Politics is a “thinking man’s game” where bonified elected leaders can think two or three election cycles ahead. The stark reality is that many “BLACK ELECTED OFFICIALS” are only worried about today. Many working-class African Americans are only thinking about their next paycheck or what they’re going to do for the coming weekend.

The problem facing the 18th Congressional District didn’t start with the death of the late Congressman Sylvester Turner, who suddenly died on Tuesday, March 5, 2025, after he attended President Donald J. Trump’s “JOINT SESSION OF CONGRESS” address in Washington, D.C., the previous night.

If you want to know the truth, the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas have been devoid of a “TRUE LEADER” ever since Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee got recruited by Ken Lay, the embattled leader of the Enron Corporation, and a handful of his buddies to run against Congressman Craig Washington back in 1994.

Listen. Members of Congress are not measured by how many water bottles they hand out during a storm or natural disaster. Nor are U.S. Representatives measured by how many turkeys they give out during Thanksgiving. And giving away bicycles for photo ops during Christmas makes the recipients feel good, but that doesn’t count much in the grand scheme of politics.

NOPE. Jumping in front of the nearest television camera as it rolls by does not make a politician an effective United States Representative worthy of re-election repeatedly.

We must stop focusing on “SYMBOLIC GESTURES” and focus on tangible results.

While talking smack has its place, running your mouth and talking out of the side of your neck is not what’s going to change the plight of the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas.

I love Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, but mocking the man who has the sole authority to call the “SPECIAL ELECTION” for the 18th Congressional District, whenever he’s good and ready, “Governor Hot Wheels,” while in Los Angeles speaking at a banquet wasn’t very smart.

And now, after mocking Governor Abbott’s disability. And then having many people within our community show themselves to be insensitive to our distinguished governor’s debilitating condition, to add insult to injury, our so-called leaders are threatening to him?

The game isn’t checkers, folks. Governor Abbott is unafraid of the two-bit Harris County Attorney (Christian Menefee) who barely defeated his GOP OPPONENT in his November 5, 2025, re-election bid.

As a refresher, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee is NOT a strong candidate by any stretch of the imagination. Menefee isn’t even a strong man, for that matter.

What will Menefee do if he’s elected to serve the people of the 18th Congressional District without Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis telling him when it’s okay to go to the restroom? Huh? What’s Menefee going to do?

How will Christian Menefee know when it’s time for him to go tinkle? What would he do without Commissioner Ellis walking him to the restroom? Huh?

As of today, Saturday, April 5, 2025, I have identified (11) candidates who have officially tendered their candidacy by filing their “STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY” with the Federal Election Commission.

DEMOCRAT - Amanda Edwards has already filed her “STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY” with the Federal Election Commission and has officially entered the race for the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas.

Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, and the late Congressman/Mayor Sylvester Turner were not forthcoming with the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas when they held their February 10, 2025, press conference at the Julia C. Hester House in Fifth Ward. Commissioner Ellis failed to disclose to the press that he is/was a Union Pacific Railroad shareholder, as he pretended to be concerned about the health and welfare of the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas. Former Mayor/Congressman Sylvester Turner did not disclose to the media that he had accepted campaign donations from the Union Pacific Railroad PAC. At the same time, he continued to fight for the people being forced to live inside those "CANCER CLUSTERS" in the Fifth Ward neighborhood.

- ELLIS PUPPETS -

Some of the public officials you see listed on County Attorney Christian Menefee's "ENDORSEMENT LIST" have absolutely no idea that they've attached themselves and their public offices to an "UNGODLY REGIME" of political renegades and Ellis-worshipers who have lied, connived, misled, misused, abused, and betrayed the trust of the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas. However, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, City of Houston Controller Chris Hollins, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones, Harris County Constable James "Smokie" Phillips, and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee's daughter (Erica Lee Carter) are "ELLIS PUPPETS" who are keenly aware of what they're doing.

Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee is the worst form of a man you will run across in politics. Christian Menefee is so indebted to Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis that he possibly asks "THE PUPPET MASTER" for permission to go to the restroom. If elected to serve as the U.S. Represenative for the 18th Congressional District of Texas, Christian Menefee will be little more than a "PUPPET" who must jump, skip, hop, bend over, shuffle his feet, and do the "WATUSI DANCE" whenever his strings are pulled by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis. The hardworking people of the 18th Congressional District must resist the temptation to send any candidate endorsed by Commissioner Rodney Ellis to Washington, D.C., to fight for their interest. After all, while Commissioner Rodney Ellis was pretending to be fighting for the people of the 18th Congressional District of Texas, he failed to tell the people that he was a Union Pacific Railroad stockholder.

On 5/06/2024, Commissioner Rodney Ellis purchased 13 Union Pacific Corp. shares for $3,171.00 using money donated to his campaign.

On 2/06/2024, Commissioner Rodney Ellis purchased 35 Union Pacific Corp. shares for $8,741.00 using money donated to his campaign.

On 2/01/2024, Commissioner Rodney Ellis purchased 23 Union Pacific Corp. shares for $5,660.00 using money donated to his campaign.

City of Houston Controller Chris Hollins appears to have sold his soul to the "CULT-LIKE" political regime Commissioner Rodney Ellis has inducted him into. If you remember, Hollins was serving in a finance position with the Texas Democratic Party back during the 2020 Presidential Election cycle before he was tapped by "THE PUPPET MASTER" Commissioner Rodney Ellis to serve as the interim Harris County Clerk after the Honorable Dr. Diane Trautman was pressured to send out hundreds of thousands of unsolicited absentee mail ballots and refused. You might also remember that Chris Hollins was in the 2023 City of Houston Mayor's race before he stepped aside to make way for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee to enter the race and have complete action at the Black vote. Now, as the City of Houston finds itself amid a $350 million budget crisis, City of Houston Controller Chris Hollins is more concerned about having a downtown street (Bagby) named after former Mayor Sylvester Turner, who may ultimately be remembered as one of the most corrupt Mayors in American history. Commissioner Rodney Ellis has a firm grip on City Controller Chris Hollins's strings.

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo has been under the spell of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis since she defeated Harris County Judge Ed Emmett during the 2018 Midterm Election. It is unclear why Lina Hidalgo is still dancing to the beat of Commissioner Rodney Ellis's drum when she, Commissioner Adrian Garcia, and Commissioner Lesley Briones have more collective power than the "PUPPET MASTER" has these days. Even still, County Judge Hidalgo remains a member of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis's "CULT-LIKE" regime. Lina even blindly endorsed Christian Menefee in the race for Congress even though Congressman Sylvester Turner wasn't even placed in the ground good on Saturday, March 15, 2025, before Menefee launched his campaign. Suppose you've been paying attention to Commissioners Court. In that case, you should have noticed that County Judge Lina Hidalto occasionally hops, skips, jumps, bends over, shuffles her feet, and does the "WATUSI DANCE" whenever Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis pulls on her strings.

Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones has been loyal to Commissioner Rodney Ellis for years. If you remember, Lesley Briones is the puppet used to replace former Judge William "Bill" McLeod after he mistakingly resigned from his Harris County Civil District Court at Law #1 bench in 2019, two months after he was elected. Briones is also the puppet used to replace Commissioner R. Jack "Cactus Jack" Cagle, after County Commissioners redrew the Precinct 3 boundaries to favor Lesley Briones. It's no wonder Commissioner Lesley Briones blindly endorsed Christian Menefee in the race for Congress even though Congressman Sylvester Turner wasn't even placed in the ground good on Saturday, March 15, 2025, before Menefee launched his campaign. Suppose you've been paying attention to Commissioners Court. In that case, you may have already noticed that County Commissioner Lesly Briones occasionally hops, skips, jumps, bends over, shuffles her feet, and does the "WATUSI DANCE" whenever Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis pulls on her strings.

Former Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter only served in the United States Congress for two months. However, she has worked inside Commissioner Rodney Ellis's office as his senior policy advisor since August 2020. Erica Lee Carter is a member of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis's "CULT-LIKE" regime. Erica was chosen to serve as the campaign chairman for Christian Menefee for Congress before the late Congressman Sylvester Turner was even placed in the ground good on Saturday, March 15, 2025. And she accepted the designation without even knowing which other Democrats would pursue the coveted 18th Congressional District of Texas seat, which proves that she is blindly following the sound of Commissioner Rodney Ellis's drumbeat. If you pay close attention to Erica Lee Carter, you will notice that she will hop, skip, jump, bend over, shuffle her feet, and do the "WATUSI DANCE" whenever Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis pulls on her strings.

Constable James "Smokie" Phillips serves as the Precinct 7 Constable in Harris County, Texas. Constable Phillips is a member of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis's "CULT-LIKE" regime. Smokie was listed as one of  Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee's endorsers in the "SPECIAL ELECTION" to fill the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat before the late Congressman Sylvester Turner was even placed in the ground good on Saturday, March 15, 2025. And he did so without even knowing which other Democrats would pursue the coveted 18th Congressional District of Texas seat, which proves that he is blindly following the sound of Commissioner Rodney Ellis's drumbeat. If you pay close attention to Constable Phillips, you will notice that he will hop, skip, jump, bend over, shuffle his feet, and do the "WATUSI DANCE" whenever Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis pulls on his strings.

As of Thursday, April 3, 2025, HBC Newspaper© has former CD-18 candidate and former City Councilwoman Amanda Edwards as the bonified "FRONT-RUNNER" in the race to fill the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat. A lot can change when other candidates enter the field, but Amanda Edwards looks good today. Based on our research and our perceived projected strength of candidacies, we have Amanda Edwards (1st), Isaiah Martin (2nd), Christian Menefee (3rd), Robert Slater (4th), and James Joseph (5th). We do not have enough information on the other candidates, but we will continue monitoring the race.

Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee (Democrat) couldn't even beat his Republican challenger (Jacqueline Lucci Smith) during the early "EARLY VOTING" period, which began on Monday, October 21, 2024, and ended on Friday, November 1, 2024. Looking at the "CUMMULATIVE REPORT DATA" below, you will see that Christian Menefee was one of the weakest Democrats running countywide in Harris County, Texas, during the 2024 Presidential Election. Ultimately, Christian Menefee won the race by receiving 739,048 votes, 50.58%, to Jacqueline Lucci Smith's 722,031 votes, 49.42%. However, compared to the performance of other down-ballot Democrats highlighted below, Menefee's weakness as a Democrat becomes glaring.

MENEFEE IS WEAK…

Don’t buy what acting County Attorney Christian Menefee and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis are selling. In my opinion, Menefee was one of the weakest DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES running countywide in Harris County, Texas, in his race for re-election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Menefee’s challenger, Jacqueline Lucci Smith, beat him during their race’s “EARLY VOTING PERIOD,” of their race. Did you know that?

Early voting for the 2024 Presidential Election started on Monday, October 21, 2024, and ended on Friday, November 1, 2024, in Harris County, Texas. During the early voting period, Jacqueline Lucci Smith received 562,903 votes, for 50.45%, and Christian Menefee received 552,835 votes, for 49.55%, according to the Harris County Clerk.

Menefee ultimately won his re-election bid, but it wasn’t easy. Christian Menefee received 739,048 votes for 50.58%, and Jacqueline Lucci Smith received 722,031 for 49.42%.

DOESN’T MEASURE UP…

By comparison to his fellow “TOP-TIER” Democrats, who were present down-ballot, running countywide in Harris County, Texas, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Christian Menefee was one of the weakest Democrats in the entire election. What am I talking about?

DaSean Jones (Democrat) received 759,358 votes and lost his race for Justice, Supreme Court, Place 2, but he still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Christine Vinh Weems (Democrat) received 780,002 votes and lost her race for Justice, Supreme Court, Place 4, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Holly Taylor (Democrat) received 748,048 votes and lost her race for Presiding Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, but she still received more votes than Christian Menefee, who received 739,048 votes to win his re-election bid.

Nancy Mulder (Democrat) received 749,604 votes and lost her race for Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 7, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Chicka Anyiam (Democrat) received 740,448 votes and lost her race for Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 8, but she still received more votes than Christian Menefee, who received 739,048 votes to win his re-election bid.

Brendetta Scott (Democrat) received 747,028 votes and lost her race for Justice, 1st Court of Appeals District, Place 2, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Sara Beth Landau (Democrat) received 751,761 votes and lost her bid for re-election in the race for Justice, 1st Court of Appeals District, Place 6, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Julie Countiss (Democrat) received 756,089 votes and lost her bid for re-election in the race for Justice, 1st Court of Appeals District, Place 7, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Richard Hightower (Democrat) received 750,139 votes and lost his bid for re-election in the race for Justice, 1st Court of Appeals District, Place 8, but he still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Amber Boyd-Cora (Democrat) received 748,316 votes and lost her race for Justice, 1st Court of Appeals District, Place 9, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Frances Bourliot (Democrat) received 741,331 votes and lost her bid for re-election in the race for Justice, 14th Court of Appeals District, Place 5, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Meagan Hassan (Democrat) received 741,605 votes and lost her bid for re-election in the race for Justice, 14th Court of Appeals District, Place 6, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Margaret “Meg” Poissant (Democrat) received 744,220 votes and lost her bid for re-election in the race for Justice, 14th Court of Appeals District, Place 8, but she still received more votes than the 739,048 votes Christian Menefee received to win his re-election bid.

Kristen Hawkins (Democrat) received 759,292 votes to win her re-election bid for District Judge, 11th Civil District Court, but Christian Menefee only received 739,048 votes to win his race.

Michael Gomez (Democrat) received 754,949 votes to win his re-election bid for District Judge, 129th Civil District Court, but Christian Menefee only received 739,048 votes to win his race.

Lillian Henney Alexander (Democrat) received 742,087 votes to win her race for District Judge for the 507th Family District Court, but Christian Menefee only received 739,048 votes to win his race.

Sean Teare (Democrat) received 749,403 votes to win his race for Harris County District Attorney, but Christian Menefee only received 739,048 votes to win his race.

Ed Gonzalez (Democrat) received 789,828 votes to win his re-election bid for Harris County Sheriff, but Christian Menefee only received 739,048 votes to win his race.

Annette Ramirez (Democrat) received 755,786 votes to win her race for Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector, but Christian Menefee only received 739,048 votes to win his race.

THE WRONG CANDIDATE…

County Attorney Christian Menefee would have a lot of trouble making the runoff against the current field, which has only eleven (11) candidates in the race as it stands right now (Thursday, March 4, 2025).

County Judge Lina Hidalgo was given a $100,000.00 loan by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis's Campaign Account on 11/02/2022. Still, when those African American Judges were sued by their Republican opponents, Commissioner Rodney Ellis did not do anything significant to help his fellow African Americans even though he had over $6 million in the bank.

Commissioner Lesley Briones was given a $100,000.00 loan by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis's Campaign Account on 10/06/2022. Has Commissioner Rodney Ellis done anything of that magnitude for any African American male or female judge in Harris County, Texas?

Commissioner Rodney Ellis has $6,414,367.00 in his campaign bank account, more than all of the sitting incumbent "DEMOCRATIC JUDGES" combined. However, the incumbent Democratic Judges are called upon to give the lion's share of the money donated to the Harris County Democratic Party. During the 2024 Presidential Election cycle, while more than a few Democratic Judges donated upwards of $50,000.00 to the Harris County Democratic Party out of their hard-earned campaign money, Commissioner Ellis only gave about $6,500.00 to the HCDP, which was nothing for a man with more than $6 million in his campaign account. (CLICK HERE) Please take a moment to view Commissioner Rodney Ellis's Campaign Finance Report.

Judge Erica Hughes, Judge LaShawn A. Williams, Judge Angela Graves Harrington, Judge Shannon Baldwin, Judge Tonya Jones, and Judge Toria J. Finch have become distinguished judiciary members in Harris County, Texas. Aubrey R. Taylor Communications is proud of them and wishes them the best in future elections. In the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, there will be (26) African American Democratic incumbent judges seeking re-election. Of the twenty-six, only two of them are males. If you scroll down this report, you will see that many of the "BLACK FEMALE JUDGES" below don't have any money inside their "CAMPAIGN BANK ACCOUNTS," which paints a bleak picture for these African Americans and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis selfishly stockpiles his $6,414,367.00, and helps women from other ethnic groups over come their financial challenges.

State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right) and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic Congresswoman from the 14th Congressional District in New York, would make a great young team if Reynolds pursued the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas. Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is only 35 years old, and State Rep. Reynolds is only 51 years old. Community icon Charles Stamps, the founder of the MLK Grande Parad,e believes that State Rep. Ron Reynolds would make the runoff and face off against former City of Houston At-Large Councilwoman Amanda Edwards. Should State Rep. Reynolds not pursue the seat, Charles Stamps believes that Edwards could win the "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. "I'm proud to stand with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in her discontent with Minority Leader Chuch Schumer. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should primary Schumer in the next election. Congresswoman AOC is a POWERFUL progressive leader FIGHTING in Congress and speaking TRUTH to power! Thanks for standing up to Trump and weak democrats too," stated State Rep. Reynolds in a recent FACEBOOK post.

Regarding power and influence, in Houston, Texas, Kieth "MR. D-MARS Davis, Sr., is the man. For well over 20 years, "MR. D-MARS" has dominated the Houston region with his D-Mars Business Journal, as the President and CEO of Vaskey Media Group, Inc., "MR. D-MARS" has spearheaded campaigns from many local and national brands, local businesses, and politicians. State Rep. Ron Reynolds and "MR. D-MARS" have been friends and allies long before State Rep. Reynolds was elected as the first African American State Representative since the Reconstruction era to get elected in Fort Bend County, Texas.

United States Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) is 55, and State Rep. Ron E. Reynolds is 51, which means State Rep. Reynolds is young enough to build a lasting legacy if he decides to run for the United States Congress in the upcoming "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. You must remember that State Rep. Reynolds is highly respected by Democrats on the local and national political stages.

There's no question about it, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (left) has emerged and positioned herself as one of the strongest female voices in national politics. At 43, Congresswoman Crockett is tirelessly challenging Democrats to stand up and be strong and courageous. Having a fearless leader like State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right) by her side in Washington, D.C., would make things much more serious. However, a United States Army Veteran named Sholdon Daniels (a Republican), has announced on Fox News Digital that he's challenging Congresswoman Crockett for her 30th Congressional District seat in the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election.

Hands down, at 55 years old, famed Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump (left) is considered one of the top voices in America. When Benjamin Lloyd Crump speaks, America listens. Crump is a lawyer of justice and fairness. And as it relates to State Rep. Ron Reynolds (right), at 51 years old, his future has never been brighter as his life story has become more of a testament to God's grace and faithfulness as State Rep. Reynolds expands his wings well beyond Fort Bend County.

Former Prizefighter turned businessman Eric Carr, the president and CEO of E&E Construction, is one of the best-kept secrets in Harris County, Texas. Carr's popularity and influence on the northeast side of Houston, Texas, could be invaluable for a candidate to win the upcoming "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. Carr's strong brotherly bond with State Rep. Reynolds could be an essential driving factor in Reynolds's success should he decide to pursue the vacant 18th Congressional District of Texas seat.

When caring about Houston, Texas matters, you would be hard-pressed to go out and find a more vigorous advocate for the people of Houston than 44-year-old "Trae tha Truth," pictured above with State Rep. Ron Reynolds, 51, a rising star on the national political scene. Born Frazier Othel Thompson III, "Trae tha Truth," knows a thing or two about leadership because whenever there's someone in need, he's been ready and willing to answer the call to service.

According to the most recent U.S. Census, "The 5 largest ethnic groups in Congressional District 18, TX are Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) (31.4%), White (Hispanic) (17.8%), White (Non-Hispanic) (16.7%), Two+ (Hispanic) (12.8%), and Other (Hispanic) (12.7%).

43.3% of the households in Congressional District 18, Texas, reported speaking non-English at home as their primary shared language. This does not consider the potential multi-lingual nature of households; it only considers the primary self-reported language spoken by all household members.

Sylvester Turner (Democrat) received 151,834 votes, for 69.42% of the vote. His Republican opponent received 66,810 votes, for 30.55% of the vote. A bonified "STEALTH CANDIDATE" like former State Rep. Shawn Thierry could legitimately receive over 100,000 votes in a race for the 18th Congressional District if she were to marry a strong base of MAGA, "Make America Great Again," patriots with African American voters who are sick and tired of being played for fools by the "ELLIS/TURNER/LEE" political regime members.

Former State Representative Jarvis Johnson, State Representative Ron Reynolds, State Representative Jolanda Jones, State Representative Christina Morales, Former State Representative Shawn Thierry, NAACP-Houston President Bishop James Dixon, Councilwoman Letitia Plummer, Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, Former Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter, Former Councilwoman Amanda Edwards, Former Candidate for State Rep. Angeanette "Angie" Thibodeaux, Community Activist Travis McGee, Community Actist Deric Muhammad, TSU Board Regent Dr. Richard Johnson, and former prizefighter turned Businessman Eric Carr, could make up a star-studded field of contenders.

Whenever Governor Greg Abbott calls the "SPECIAL ELECTION" for the 18th Congressional District, you will see a low voter turnout like what you would see in a primary race. And if there are (10) or (15) Democratic candidates running in the race, you will see a situation where the Democratic vote will be splintered. If you look at the "TOTAL" above, what you see is that only 23,629 Democrats turned out to vote for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and only 14,668 Democrats turned out for Amanda Edwards last year when they faced off.

66,810 votes were received by Lana Centonze (Republican) in the 2024 Presidential Election race for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s successor, Sylvester Turner.

58,033 votes were received by Wendell Champion (Republican) in the 2020 Presidential Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

48,306 votes were received by Lori Bartley (Republican) in the 2016 presidential election for the 18th Congressional District, which was run against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

47,835 votes were received by Maria Dunn (Republican) in the 2024 “UNEXPIRED TERM” Presidential Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter Erica Lee.

44,015 votes were received by Sean Seibert (Republican) in the 2012 presidential election for the 18th Congressional District, which was run against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

40,941 votes were received by Carmen Maria Montiel (Republican) in the 2022 Midterm Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

38,368 votes were received by Ava Pate (Republican) in the 2018 Midterm Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

21,257 votes were received by Kevin O. Dural (Republican) in the 2024 “UNEXPIRED TERM” Presidential Election for the 18th Congressional District, running against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter Erica Lee.
