Eva Guzman won the Houston Bar Association 2016 Judicial Preference Poll over Chisholm, Fulton and Savannah Robinson

In the race for Supreme Court of Texas, Place 9: Eva Guzman won the Houston Bar Association 2016 Judicial Preference Poll over Jim Chisholm, Don Fulton and Savannah Robinson

The Houston Bar Association (HBA) recently released the results of its 2016 Judicial Preference Poll. The HBA posted the results on its website, www.hba.org.

The Judicial Preference Poll is not an endorsement by the Houston Bar Association.*

In each election year, the HBA asks its members to indicate their preferences in contested judicial and some administrative races. The 2016 Judicial Preference Poll includes Democratic, Green, Libertarian, and Republican candidates in contested races for the Supreme Court of Texas, the Court of Criminal Appeals, the Houston Courts of Appeals, Harris County District Courts, Harris County Courts at Law, Justice of the Peace Courts, Harris County District Attorney, and Harris County Attorney. The poll was conducted through online voting, with 1,962 ballots cast, representing a return rate of 21.2% of eligible HBA voters.

Believing that an informed electorate is vital to the efficient administration of justice, the Houston Bar Association has conducted judicial polls since the early 1970s.

YOUR KEY 2012 RACES FOR TEXAS SUPREME COURT JUSTICE FOR PLACES 2, 4, AND 6 ON THE TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH, 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION BALLOT

Texas Supreme Court Justice for Place 2 -- The TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH, 2012 race for Supreme Court Justice for Place 2 in Texas features Republican Justice Don R. Willett who does not have a Democratic challenger on the November ballot. However, he is being challenged by R.S. Roberto Koelsch who will be representing the Libertarian Party on the ballot. This is a statewide race and will be decided by voters from across Texas.

Texas Supreme Court Justice for Place 4 -- The TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH, 2012 race for Supreme Court Justice for Place 4 in Texas features Republican John Devine who does not have a Democratic challenger on the November ballot. However, he is being challenged by Tom Oxford who will be representing the Libertarian Party and Charles E. Waterbury who will be representing the Green Party on the ballot. This is a statewide race and will be decided by voters from across Texas.






Texas Supreme Court Justice for Place 6 --
The TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH, 2012 race for Supreme Court Justice for Place 6 in Texas features Republican incumbent Justice Nathan L. Hecht and Democrat Michele Petty. The race for Supreme Court Justice for Place 6 is a statewide race and will be decided by voters from across Texas. OTHER CANDIDATES IN THIS RACE: Mark Ash will be representing the Libertarian Party while Jim Chisholm will be representing the Green Party on the ballot.
