And comparatively speaking, the ticket of Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan received 586,073 votes in Harris County, Texas back on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. And in case you're wondering, 406,991 Harris County Democrats voted a straight-ticket back in 2012, and 404,165 Harris County Republicans voted a straight-ticket. So, as Tuesday, November 6, 2018 approaches, every warm-blooded Texan needs to be telling all their family, friends, associates, and passers-by that "EVERY VOTE MATTERS" and reminding them that early voting will begin on Monday, October 22, 2018, and end on Friday, November 2, 2018, in Harris County, Texas.

The talking heads are talking. And the political pundits are pondering, but what happened in Ohio's 12th Congressional District last night isn't something that can be ignored by Harris County Democrats or Republicans in my opinion. The fact that a Democrat nearly won in a Congressional District they haven't carried in more than 40 years is proof positive that America is at a crossroads. And Americans are sending a strong message, but what is the message? It's all guesswork right now in my opinion. However, what we do know for certain is that Danny O'Connor, a Democrat ran the race of his life, to garner 49.3 percent or 99,820 votes, while the Republican, Troy Balderson was able to muster 50.2 percent or 101,574 votes in what has traditionally been a reliably red district. Now, the race isn’t over just yet, but no matter what happens from here, Democrats and Republicans alike need to understand that neither, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, or Hillary Clinton will be on the ballot on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. However, the changing dynamics of "THE MULLER-PROBE" and the constant tweets by our current Commander in Chief is going to have a bearing on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, when the Midterm Elections are scheduled to take place. The only question is what type of bearing will our current president have.
YOUR VOTE COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE
I believe past elections provide glimpses into what can perhaps happen in future elections. And with that said, we don’t have to look any further than the showdown between, Former President Barack Obama (in his re-election bid back in 2012) against his Republican challenger Mitt Romney to see that one voter precinct can swing a countywide election for either major political party. And heck, for that matter, a church, sorority or political action committee with a base of a few thousand politically active and engaged members could possibly swing the pendulum to the left or to the right.
WHO WILL WIN HARRIS COUNTY?
Look, truth be told, nobody can say with full certainty what’s going to happen in Harris County, Texas on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. However, both major political parties had better run like their nominees are 10 percentage points behind their rivals. I can say this with full assurance because what happened last night in Ohio was a wake-up call. What happened last night in that 12th Congressional District, and back in 2012 in the Presidential Election (in Harris County, Texas) points to what I believe is about to be a very close election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in Harris County, Texas. So, whether you are hoping and praying for a "BLUEWAVE" or anticipating a "REDSTORM" you had better realize that Tuesday, November 6, is going to be a "DOG-FIGHT" for every single vote by both major political parties! So, make no mistake about it, the difference between Republican hopefuls winning, and Democrat hopefuls winning could very-well come down to a few thousand, or perhaps even a few hundred votes – nobody knows! But in all your getting, please get an understanding that it's imperative that we make it our business to elect the "BEST QUALIFIED CANDIDATES" who value our vote when we go to the polls in 2018.

Back on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, the Harris County Democratic Party won the straight-ticket voting battle over the Harris County Republican Party. In case you don’t remember, 472,030 Democrats voted a straight ticket, compared to only 401,663 Republicans. The voter turnout was 61.33% -- as only 1,338,898 of the 2,182,980 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.

Back on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, the Harris County Republican Party won the straight-ticket voting battle over the Harris County Democratic Party. In case you don’t remember, 254,006 Republicans voted a straight ticket, compared to only 210,018 Democrats. The voter turnout was 33.65% -- as only 688,018 of the 2,044,361 registered Harris County voters (at the time) went to the polls.
